Hotels near Samgakji Station, Seoul

Pros: My room was incredibly clean, especially the bathroom. The sink gleamed, every corner was spotless, and the large mirror was perfect for makeup. The spacious counter was a huge plus for all my toiletries (girls tend to have a lot of skincare products!). The room size was typical for a Korean hotel, with enough space for two people's luggage. It's quite close to the subway station, with a convenience store and a few restaurants nearby, and a chill coffee shop just across the street. Although it's on a slope, it's a very short one. The elderly gentleman who checked us in at the front desk had an excellent attitude. There's even a tax refund machine in the hotel lobby. Cons: The soundproofing was poor. The two men in the next room were very loud. If it weren't for the language barrier, I think I would have known their entire conversation – there was absolutely no privacy. Luckily, we didn't stay on a weekend, so we didn't hear any bar-goers or drinkers. So staying here really depends on luck; if you get considerate guests who keep to themselves, it's great. But if you encounter loud ones, it's just bad luck. Also, at 1 AM, the TV (or possibly some other electronic box) suddenly blared an ear-splitting alarm, like an ambulance, which startled us awake. Since I take sedatives, being abruptly woken up is very disorienting for me. My girlfriend quickly unplugged all the power cords behind the TV, and the sound instantly disappeared. I don't know what caused this; I forgot to ask the front desk when we checked out, and I still have no idea what happened.

I stayed in a six-woman room. There were no curtains, but everyone changed towels or jackets to cover themselves, so there was plenty of privacy and it wasn't a problem. I read some reviews that said there was a noticeable smell, but that wasn't the case at all. The showers and toilets were also clean! I'd definitely like to stay here again.

The wall are thin and you can clearly hear people in the next rooms and even outside. It took some time for water in the shower to get warm and even then it was never really hot. However the hotel is close to an underground station and you can even walk to the major train hub. Still there more cons than pros for me and for this money I would choose another hotel ext time.

The hotel's location is fantastic, right at Yongsan Station Exit 3. Just follow the elevated walkway, enter the 'Food Exchange' and you'll find the elevator. This is the second floor; take the elevator down to the first floor for the Novotel lobby. The Mercure, Ibis, and Novotel are all connected. Continue through the Novotel lobby to the other end to reach the Ibis front desk. Check-in and luggage storage are very convenient. Given it's Seoul and the excellent transportation links (subway, ITX, KTX from Yongsan Station are all very accessible), the hotel's price is comparable to downtown Shanghai 🤣, but when you factor in potential taxi costs for getting around, it offers really good value for money. Plus, the room isn't small, the environment is quiet and comfortable, with complimentary mineral water and a kettle, and the toiletries are of good quality. Highly recommend!

Hotels in Seoul are incredibly expensive on weekends, so I opted for a relatively inexpensive small hotel. This hotel has a great location, right next to a subway station, making it convenient for visiting Yeouido to see the cherry blossoms! Although I had written that I could only stay overnight, the front desk agent let me check in early. The room was small, but well-equipped, including a refrigerator! Not all rooms in this room type have windows, so it's best to choose one with windows for better lighting. The bathroom has a threshold, so be careful! Cleanliness was acceptable, and the staff were very friendly! Great value!

Pros: A staff member was always around (even if in the back of reception), spoke good English and gave us a pouch of amenities. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Big smart tv. They had underfloor heating. Unlimited water bottles. I think there was a coffee machine by reception too. We were impressed by how clean it was. Cons: The space was a bit limited for 2 people, but we opened one of the suitcases on the sofa. There was only 1 big towel in the room, but the 2 smaller ones were still sufficient. Only 1 key card to share. Despite initial worries because the price seemed too good to be true, there were no downsides. Pretty good value for money overall. We were worried it was a love motel but it was not the case. The alleyway wasn't bad or scary if you are walking from the main road, so I recommend that route if anyone was worried from other reviews. Make sure you copy the hangul/korean name of the hotel for maps/uber. It was a good hotel to stay at coming from Gimpo airport late night. Managed to order food delivery on baemin too :)

The room was a bit small but quite comfortable, and it wasn't noisy despite being close to the road. It's a bit of a walk to the subway station, and there's a big hill... but for this price in this area, it's acceptable. The bathroom and toilet are separate, which is very convenient for friends traveling together. I just wish there was a convenience store downstairs, as they are all quite far away.

Stayed here for a conference at the Dragon city. The room is spacious and well-equipped. There is a CU minimart hidden on the second floor where you can enjoy the Ramyeon at midnight after a long flight. Please ask the direction from the reception.

The location is absolutely ideal. Situated in Itaewon, you’re surrounded by an incredible variety of restaurants, cafés, shops, and convenience stores. There’s always something to do, see, or try just steps away. At the same time, the guest house is tucked away just enough to provide a peaceful and quiet retreat when you need rest. It’s the perfect balance. What really stands out is how seamless and enjoyable the entire stay felt. Every small detail was taken care of, every interaction was pleasant, and everything worked exactly as it should. It’s the kind of place where you don’t have to think about anything, you can just enjoy your time. This wasn’t just a good stay, it was genuinely special. If I could rate it 1000/10, I would without hesitation. I would come back here again and again and again, and I would recommend it to absolutely anyone looking for comfort, warmth, and an exceptional experience in Seoul while on a budget. Cube Guest House is not just a place to stay, it’s a place that makes you feel at home, even when you’re far away. I can’t wait to return.
