Hotels near Udo Lighthouse Park, Jeju

I am a South African teacher working in China and visited South Korea during the national holidays, choosing to spend a night on Udo Island. The ferry ride from Jeju to Udo was exciting, but upon arrival my original Trip.com booking was far below standard. Thankfully, with the kind help of a local shop owner, I found accommodation at Hundert Hills—and what a blessing that turned out to be! From the moment their driver fetched me, I was welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. The room was exceptionally spacious, beautifully comfortable, and offered breathtaking views. The resort itself is stunning, with many attractions to enjoy. A special thank you to Cafe Tolcany, and especially to Chef Leo, who went out of his way to prepare meals I suggested—not once, but twice. The highlight of my stay came when inclement weather cancelled all ferries back to Jeju. To my amazement, Hundert Hills extended my stay for an extra night at no additional cost—putting people before profit. That act of kindness truly set them apart. Hundert Hills exceeded every expectation. I will continue to sing their praises and recommend them most highly. Thank you, Hundert Hills!

Less than 5 mins drive to Seongsan ilchulbong, co-op city was a great place to stay and where many eateries / minimarts were within walking distance. Room was spacious, clean and good condition! Special shout out to their breakfast (paid) which was the better ones in the 5 different hotels I stayed. Parking slots were adequate and room rates was affordable! Recommended!

I really liked the property of the venue. I came to the area later in the day because it was raining on the island. Because I was in the midst of a circle around the island, I had already dealt with a rain storm at the folk Village and just needed to eat or clean up. I needed tea and a space to relax. There’s a plaza about five minutes walking from this property, and some of the amenities were closed at Playce when I arrived. I was also told at check-in that it was more like a hostel. The check-in process was fast.  The room space is very small, but the design of the hotel rooms is neat and functional. Unfortunately, there’s no luggage rack, and there are limited hours for the café, laundry, play, and bar restaurant. I had two suitcases, so I used my bed and a MacGyver way to set the carry-on.  I think this place is best suited for remote workers who are minimalists or trekkers/bikers. I still think the concept of Playce is unique. However, I wanted to go see the sunrise on the Ilchulbong hike and there’s no breakfast early in the morning. The coffee shop is not open until later either. The restaurant opens promptly at dinner time. The shop has very nice branded things, but I chose to purchase a couple of basic souvenirs. I felt a sense of hipster basically. Otherwise, the place is great. Price is best.  Although the staff was very friendly and had lots of information, I do not feel that describing the venue as a hostel was appropriate. If I cannot get my tea or coffee when the popular attraction nearby is a 40 minute walk away or a five minute taxi, then I should at least have the option that a hostel does. This means I had to utilize the coffee that I took from the previous hotel in order to make my morning start the best at sunrise.. It was suggested that I go to a restaurant locally across the street by Starbucks at the 4pm check-in since the restaurant was not open until 6 PM. Even if I had my own snacks, the option I had was to use the hot water machine downstairs. Thinking back to a hostel, I did not have the hostel kitchen. The laundry was available if needed though.  What I liked about this Playce despite the fact that it was a rainy day is the feature of the stage in the middle of the property and the fact that they do events locally on a regular basis. I liked the interior decorating and I did like the fact that they had a library/remote workers room. The food at the restaurant was delicious. When I did get to eat breakfast later in the morning after the hike (the hike spot had local shops), it was really good. When the café did eventually open, it was a very nice space. Food service literally saved my opinion late in the morning.  I like the concept of the whole property and feel that it can do better in accommodating the hotel guests, especially when it is a Chinese holiday revolving around an upcoming Korean holiday. Hours of operation are not in sync with travelers, and it is definitely not with hostel amenities. It’s a hotel.  I stayed at this location because of the price and vibe which was quite fine after 6pm. I really enjoyed the hike and the small village near the shore.

The staff were friendly and the room was clean. However, a few things spoiled the experience: there was no shower door in the bathroom, and we initially didn't even realize it had just been removed. On the double bed, there was something like a plastic sheet under the regular sheet, which made it uncomfortable and hot to sleep on. The single bed didn't have this. The kettle was covered in dust.

Our group of 8 booked four rooms. When some family members had a last-minute change of plans and couldn't make it, the hotel was kind enough to let us cancel one room, which was very helpful. The living environment was very comfortable and spacious! The nearby rapeseed flower fields were beautiful for casual photos. It's only a 10-minute walk to the Seongsan Ilchulbong entrance and about 15 minutes to the Udo ferry terminal, which is super convenient. The hotel staff were very friendly and even helped us book our trip to Seogwipo! If you're planning to visit Udo or Seongsan Ilchulbong, I would definitely recommend staying here again.

The room facilities were quite old, and the layout was really strange – the washbasin area faced the bed with no door separating it. The toilet had a door, but it was a mirrored door, which was a bit creepy. The window was even stranger; it wouldn't stay open. As soon as I opened it, it would swing shut with the breeze. I kept opening and closing it all night, which made it hard to sleep. It got stuffy when closed, but it wouldn't stay open. On the bright side, the breakfast was pretty good value, I think it was around 80 per person. There's also a small convenience store downstairs that's open from 4 PM to midnight. The hotel's coffee shop is only open in the mornings. There's a horse stable next to the hotel where you can see horses, but it smells quite bad. It's about a 10-minute taxi ride to Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, and there are plenty of small restaurants, coffee shops, and bakeries around the hotel. Overall, it's quite convenient.

The staff were very friendly and had no problem communicating in English! The rooms were comfortable and had convenient parking. There was a 7-Eleven in the lobby for easy shopping! The price was reasonable! Highly recommended!

Room comes with a kitchen and a balcony, I never use them though. The room is very old but spacious. When I flushed the toilet the sound of the water sounded like it was gonna explode. The location is great, within walkable distance to Seongsan Ilchulbong. It’s also only 5min drive to the pier so good to go to U-do early in the morning where there is less people. By the time I came back at noon time the pier was packed. It got hot in the room so I plugged in the AC but there was no remote control to turn it on, hence I opened the balcony door instead, was worrying it would get noisy in the morning but it was quiet the next day.

I had a great stay at this spa hotel and would highly recommend it. The room was clean, but you need to request housekeeping if you want it during your stay. Basic amenities were provided in both the room and bathroom, which was convenient. There is free laundry, a dryer, and even a styler available in the lobby, with detergent included. A drying rack is also provided in the room, which is helpful for drying swimsuits or clothes. One of the highlights was the jacuzzi. The view is amazing, especially during sunrise and sunset. It was the perfect way to relax after hiking Seongsan Mountain and walking along the nearby trails. The receptionists were lovely and very helpful throughout my stay. Waking up to the beautiful scenery every morning was such a nice experience, and even rainy days felt special with the big window and the view outside. There’s also a café nearby called Haeilri Cafe, which serves delicious coffee, pastriesand their signature cold drinks.

This hotel boasts an excellent location in Seongsan-ri, close to Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak and the ferry terminal for Udo Island. There are also convenient stores and a bus stop nearby, making it quite accessible. The front desk staff are proficient in both Chinese and English. The rooms are clean, and the facilities are quite comprehensive. Highly recommended!
