Mama Shelter Luxembourg

Amazing

I enjoyed a lot my stay in Mama Shelter Luxembourg. The music from the restaurant wasn't that loud and the room was always clean. The breakfast could be better though, and in my opinion 26€ is pretty expensive. The staff was always available and welcoming and the hotel is very close to the tram stop. Definitely coming back next time.

The location is super convenient, right opposite the train station, with plenty of supermarkets and restaurants nearby. 😊 The front desk staff were very friendly, and the hotel feels brand new – it's been renovated for a long time. You can open the windows, and there's no renovation smell in the room, which is great (I was a bit worried before staying). I've been watching them renovate for years and finally booked it for my trip to Luxembourg this year. The hotel has all the amenities you'd expect from a Marriott, which is always a plus. It seems the radiators can be turned on year-round, and there's also air conditioning. I mainly used the heating function of the AC, as it was quite cold in late April. Regarding housekeeping, we didn't request daily cleaning, but one time we did ask for it. We hung the sign in the morning, went out, and came back around 4-5 PM to find it still hadn't been cleaned – maybe they didn't see the sign? After mentioning it the next day, it was promptly taken care of. Also, for me, the mattress was a bit too soft 🤣 – my back felt like it had no support.

The hotel is along a quaint street that's almost like uninhabited on a Sunday. I like that there's a bus stop right at the doors that helps with getting around easily. But there's essentially nothing much in the surroundings. The hotel reception is at the bar, one may mistaken it for the bar counter instead. The lobby has a bar vibe, I guess much in line with the brewery history of this building. Room is a little small for 2 persons, leaves little space for moving around if 2 luggages are opened concurrently. I like the open wardrobe concept but I don't get why the electrical sockets need to be hidden behind the side table. The room is also generally very dim and dark, even with all lights switched on. They also provide a bottle of drinking water, just 1 per day and additional bottles are chargeable. Which I felt was a little rigid considering how expensive a room night costs here. The toilet is separate from the shower area which does not have a door. The standing shower has no shower curtain and is half covered, where the water just spills all over outside of the shower area. The bed is firm and comfortable but pillows are too soft for my liking, hardly any support. Room is always clean, kudos to the housekeeping team. Overall, an acceptable stay, but pricey.

A mid-range business hotel. Not luxurious, but it offers all the necessary amenities. Small gym and sauna. Breakfast is satisfactory. Silent, convenient location for Kirchberg area.

We had a lovely upgrade and the room was spacious with a great view Free water helped with the extreme heat outside, could fill our water bottles from the fidge each day The room was spotless We went to breakfast once, it was good and staff friendly and helpful, food good However, when we went for an evening meal at MU, we were quite disappointed, for a supposedly top restaurant, food was OK nothing special in presentation or content, side salad of lettuce leaves and olive oil dressing? Dessert was good the standard we expected The staff could do with some extra training on attentiveness, wine not poured, I had to ask for the table to cleaned before dessert arrived, we sat for ages before our finished plates were cleared. No table cloths or attractive settings, just as they were for breakfast We had gone to a local restaurant, Cyrano, which was head and shoulders above MU

Getting here from the airport is easy by bus, and from the city center, you can take a tram or bus. We arrived at night and surprisingly, I couldn't find the lobby right away – it's actually combined with the most prominent restaurant. The room was spacious and the facilities were new, with air conditioning. Several Novotel hotels I've stayed at in Europe seem to use Rituals bath products. Although there's no free bottled water, there's a water dispenser on each floor by the elevators, which even offers sparkling water. The sparkling water was incredibly bubbly and ice-cold, which was really refreshing. Breakfast is on the first floor, offering a standard European spread. The dairy products were decent, but the bread was just okay, and the air conditioning was set too cold.

The ibis Hotel is located together with its ibis Hotel. Both share the same reception location. The hotel is conveniently just across from the airport. A bus stop is right outside of the hotel building. Busses as frequent as every 10 min during rush hour could take you to the old town / central train station within 12 min. The hotel is overall clean and with young vibe. 2 hotel restaurants serve from breakfast to dinner. We ate there for one dinner and the foods were great.

This hotel was a great find. Room was sparklingly clean and comfortable. Equipped with hairdryer, iron, mini bar and plenty of bathroom amenities. Perfectly located opposite the main train station, just a 20 min walk into centre or a 5 min tram ride.  Staff were friendly and helpful. The Asian restaurant attached to the hotel was very good and reasonably priced. I would certainly stay here again.

The place was far from the city centre. It’s in the middle of a lush forest, and there’s direct bus 4 and 32 going to the city centre every 30 minutes or so. All public transports are free in Luxembourg. There’s a self-serviced supermarket and a few salons owned by the hotel in the same building. It’s equipped with a swimming pool and gym, but there was no time to try them out. Breakfast was worth it, so it’s best if you book the hotel with breakfast on trip.com rather than adding it when you’re in the hotel, since it costs €16 for breakfast pre-booking 1 night before and €23 for the same-day booking. There are free cookies given to patrons during check-in and upon request too from 10 a.m. and they are delish! So far, Luxembourg is not exactly a well-known tourist destination, but it’s an interesting place with an international palate.

The single room I booked was clean, but quite small and simple - I would even call it spartan. The staff was not very friendly; I would have expected a bit more. Still, I was not turned away :). The location is convenient, close to both the historical center and the European Quarter. I would stay there again, but without any high expectations.
