Well... the location is great. You couldn't find a more central or romantic place to stay. The room is also kind of cozy, definitely old-school. Great view of the river. The owner is incredibly nice. But... We booked 36 square meters. The room was 16 square meters plus a small bathroom without hot water... Taking off your shoes at the front door and walking barefoot through the house is also a matter of personal taste. The offerings urgently need to be revised. And the price is too high for what you get. But still, I'd recommend it for the right kind of renter. But I wouldn't book it again... Too quirky. Too expensive. And far too many barriers throughout the house. The toilet is designed for short people.

Overall, this hotel is pretty good, and the price is relatively cheap. The main advantage is its location, right near Jonker Street, making it super convenient for exploring the area. The picture I uploaded shows the environment from the hotel's main entrance. The interior room photos match what they advertised. There are various room types; I booked a room facing the street with a balcony, not one overlooking the river. One downside is that there's a record bar downstairs, and it can be quite noisy at night, making it a bit difficult to fall asleep.

My First Stay at Styles Hotel Had a wonderful first stay at Styles Hotel! The location is fantastic—just a few minutes' walk to Jonker Street, making it super convenient. The room was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. A special shout-out to Ikram for the warm hospitality and friendly service. I’ll definitely be coming back!

If you’re looking for a place that’s super close to all the main attractions in Melaka, Heeren Street Boutique Hotel is honestly one of the best spots. It’s just a short walk to Jonker Street, Red Square, and even the Melaka River, so you can explore most tourist areas without needing a car. There are also several halal restaurants nearby, which makes food hunting really easy. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with air-conditioning and a water heater that work perfectly. Entry to the hotel and rooms is via access card, and the WiFi is available for guests. On the ground floor, you’ll find filtered drinking water and an iron if you need to use them. Just a heads-up, there’s no TV, mini fridge, or tea/coffee sachets in the room. But overall, if you’re looking for an affordable stay with comfort and a great location, this place ticks all the boxes.

Great service and comfortable rooms, but with a few hiccups. The staff at reception were lovely. However, staying on the 32nd floor meant long waits for the lift during busy times. Also, the bathroom glass is quite see-through—not ideal if you're sharing the room with a friend. Overall, it was a good experience, but keep these points in mind.

Honestly hoping to gate keep this hotel. Hotel Hong is a great choice if u re a down to earth person, who values a humbling short stay around Jonkers area. Location is walkable to Jonkers Street, just nice to keep u away from the noisiness of it for a good night rest - only if u re ok with paper thin, zero sound insulation walls. The room is compact, able to fit 2 pax but honestly just perfect for one. Aircond working well, if not there’s always the ceiling fan. The queen bed is comfy, towels are clean, water pressure is sufficient to rinse off shampoo for medium to long hair female, but no hair dryer to be found. Overall, the inside of the room and bathroom are clean, but not so much for the window parts, super dusty, and previous tenants clearly violates the no smoking rules as cigarette butts and undies were found threw away stuck on the window panes. Both room and bathroom have good natural day lights and ventilation, but it can attract a bit of mosquitoes if left open. Furnitures are old and worn out, still good enuf to accommodate a few days of stay. Plus, room air re freshener not working as well. And, the bathroom shelves were horrible slanted - couldn’t place toiletries without it fallen off. Although, it s located opposite the mosque, the call of prayer wasnt as much of a sound annoyance compared to the paper thin room walls. The bed head is situated against the wall of the next room which sadly is the bathroom, hence you can hear every flush, water pipe turns happening next door. Best of all, the aunty at the receptionist is the greatest, super accommodating, easy- going and friendly. Psst, theres an upstairs hangout area sorta like a rooftop, nice for a chill calm night, keep the rowdiness at Jonkers. Dont expect a VIP treatment, make the bed services. This is humble hotel, value for money stay that should only be appreciated by like minded travellers.

Since we were arriving late and staying only a few nights, I choose this hotel due to it’s location at one end of Jonker Street. Location was as described and best of all, the actual rooms were in the back of the hotel (reception was the front side facing the street), so we had restful nights / no excessive noise from the street. In the lobby there was also a water fountain with filtered hot and cold water. The room itself was pretty big but basic an clean. There was a kettle, 2 bottles of water, 2 sachet of coffee, a desk area with chair and mirror, a rack to hang clothes and 1 side had a night stand. But please note there was no TV. We don’t really watch television while traveling so it was not an issue but it might be for some. Only slight downsides was the aircon was not that strong but and the water in the shower never really heated up that much.

The biggest win for this hotel is definitely its location on Jalan Tukang Besi — super close to Jonker Walk and all the tourist hotspots around the area. Location-wise, it’s really great. The only thing is the hotel can be a bit confusing to find because there’s no signage for “Melaka Oracle Bookstore.” On the map and on the building facade, there’s only Chinese writing, so it took me a moment to be sure I was at the right place. I’m also not sure if the owner is Malaysian because they spoke Mandarin, but they can communicate in English, and both the owner and staff were friendly. Along this lane, you’ll also find a few shops that rent Nyonya kebaya and batik shirts, and Masjid Kampung Kling is just a few meters away. To get to the rooms upstairs, you’ll need an access card, and the room door uses a physical key. The room itself is fairly clean, with a comfortable mattress and pillows. The aircond is cold, there’s a wall fan, a water heater, and free WiFi. There were no drinking glasses in the room, but you can refill water from the filtered water machine outside. They also have a pantry area and a washing machine, though I didn’t see an iron board — probably need to ask the staff. Mosquito coils were provided, but thankfully, there were no mosquitoes in my room. However, there are a few things that could be improved. There was no blanket provided, which should be basic. I also noticed some plaster bagworms on the ceiling and walls — these should be cleaned because they can bite and leave marks. The toilet paper roll should be new, not a leftover one. The water pressure is quite low, so showering didn’t feel very satisfying. And the leftover mosquito coil ash should be cleaned before a new guest checks in. The toilet could also be cleaned more thoroughly — no stray hairs on the floor and no stains on the bowl. Overall, the hotel is decent and perfectly okay for a stay. The facilities match the affordable price, and if you’re not as fussy as I am, you’ll probably be fine. There’s also a cute cat mural outside the building. The place has a rustic but charming vibe — definitely has room to improve, but still a pleasant stay.
