Amazing

The room was actually quite small, and the water pressure for the shower wasn't great. The hotel is located by the roadside, so there was a lot of noise at night. The hotel service was good, but there's no elevator, so you have to walk up the stairs. For those planning to stay, please bring your own toiletries as the hotel only provides cotton swabs and shower caps.

This was my first time staying here, and I came with my two daughters. We really liked it; the beds were super comfortable. However, the room layout was a bit odd, and the toilet paper holder in the bathroom was quite hard to reach. The towel rack was installed inside the shower, which was unusual. Also, the light switches were a bit confusing to operate. Overall, the room was good. The restaurant's buffet line was quite small, and the seating felt too cramped. The outdoor seating area was so close to the pool that the floor was constantly wet. I saw several people slip and fall. They should definitely put down non-slip mats around the pool area to prevent accidents. Regarding service, there should be staff monitoring the outdoor poolside seating during breakfast, asking guests if they need anything and ensuring their safety. For the sauna, there should be clear instructions on how to use it, as some guests might not know, as well as clear opening and closing times. The operating hours or temperature settings should be standardized (and not placed where guests can adjust them, as this could damage the equipment). As for the fitness center, it should open earlier, perhaps at 7:00 or 8:00 AM. There's also a bit too much equipment, making the room feel small and cramped, especially if multiple guests are using it at once.

The Smart Hotel Hat Yai is in a great location, near Central Hatyai and Makro, making it very convenient for shopping and dining. The hotel also provides a shuttle service to nearby attractions, which is very helpful for travelers. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff are friendly, helpful, and provide good service throughout the stay. Overall, it’s a great choice for anyone visiting Hat Yai.

I checked out from the hotel some time after 8am, and upon inspection of the room, their housekeeper and front desk accused us of stealing their one of pool towels. On the first day of our stay, they had indeed provided 2 pool towels, which we had used and had been taken by their housekeeper during housekeeping. However, they only provided 1 pool towel yesterday, but we did not request any extra since only one of our members went swimming. In the end, they charged us 350 baht for stealing/losing their pool towel, even though they did not provide the complete set of 2 in the first place. Before I checked out, I also witnessed the group in front of me who were also accused of stealing their towel, which they were charged 100 baht. The group insisted that they had even brought their own towels and never used the hotel’s, but were nevertheless forced to pay the compensation fee even because we had no proof that the housekeeping did not provide the complete set in the first place. I strongly suspect that we were being scammed by the hotel staff on this, because this is a relatively decent and nicer hotel, and proper guests were staying here. There’s absolutely no reason for any of us to be stealing their towels. If I couldn’t even afford a towel, I would not be staying here at all. And if it had only been us falling victim to this, my suspicions would not have been this strong but it is too much of a coincidence for both groups to be accused of stealing their towels. On an additional note, they were not even able to provide a complete set of towels for us 4pax when we called to request, because there weren’t enough to go around (according to them). They could’ve also easily use this against us and accuse us of stealing the bath towels too, and we would not have been able to prove ourselves either. My only mistake was not requesting a receipt for the compensation fee that I had to pay, but I don’t think it would’ve made much of a difference. I have lodged an official complaint anyway via Trip to hopefully prevent future incidents. Just want to put this out here to warn others who are considering staying here in the future. Avoid if you don’t want to ruin a nice hotel experience by leaving with a sour taste in your mouth. Truly a shame that the level of service and integrity of the staffs did not live up to the standards of the hotel.

Great Service and Convenient Location, but Some Minor Issues This was our second stay at this hotel, and overall, we had a pleasant experience. We arrived late, but the staff welcomed us with big smiles and made the check-in process smooth and efficient. The room, including the bathroom, was clean and well-maintained. One of the things we appreciated was the convenience of the location. There's a 7-Eleven just around the corner, which is very handy. The hotel is also quite close to the ASEAN Night Market and Central Hat Yai, making it easy to explore the area. Although the hotel doesn't provide dedicated parking, there were a few parking spaces available in front of the hotel and along the back alley. However, it can get quite full at night due to the bar next door. We still managed to find parking during our stay, but at times you may need to walk a little. Downsides: The biggest issue is the bar located right next to the hotel. It gets quite loud after 10 PM, and we could clearly hear the music in our room. If you're a light sleeper or sensitive to noise, this might be a problem. The water drainage in the bathroom was poor on the first night, causing the bathroom to flood after a shower. It improved slightly on the second night, but the water still pooled before eventually draining. We booked a twin room, and one of the beds was quite wobbly—it shook every time someone moved. The other bed was fine, though. Despite these issues, the friendly service and convenient location made our stay enjoyable. If the noise and minor maintenance issues don’t bother you, this hotel is a decent choice for a short stay in Hat Yai.

The hotel's location and customer service were great. However, there were a lot of mosquitoes in the room, and a strong smell coming from the drain. The bathroom in the room was quite unappealing due to the sewer smell. I hope you can address these issues. Other than that, everything was fine.

Before heading back to Kuala Lumpur, I spent some time in Hat Yai and enjoyed eating at some authentic local restaurants. I have truly missed Thai food, and I am so glad I got to enjoy it on my last night in Thailand. Hat Yai can be quite difficult for booking holiday hotels, especially during public holidays when so many Malaysians come to visit. As for the hotel, it is located a bit far from the city centre, but the surroundings are quite peaceful. If you are not driving, you can easily use a ride hailing app to get around at any time. The hotel features a cafe and a gym. I did not book breakfast here as I preferred to eat out, plus I had an early flight to catch the next morning. Overall, this hotel offers great value for money and I would certainly recommend staying here.

Nice hotel, which was spotlessly clean, with good facilities.Indoor pool and games room plus pool on roof.Good choice for breakfast.Bar area was pleasant, but fairly quiet, although not expensive. In general, the staff were helpful and efficient. The Hotel is in a rather scruffy area about 5 minutes walk from the restaurants and bars but it felt very safe.Good example of a value 2* hotel.
