C.FGThis hotel really exceeded my expectations. Most hotels in Washington D.C. are quite old, but this one seems to have been recently renovated, creating a vibe that's both classic and contemporary. The hotel is located north of the White House, on the central axis. While it's a bit of a walk to the subway, it's definitely within walking distance. What truly stands out is the hotel's decor and furnishings. The room perfectly embodied that cozy American aesthetic I imagined, and the bathroom was spacious. The artwork chosen for the room showed good taste, and the lighting in the common areas was very comfortable. Just a heads up, the hotel doesn't provide disposable toiletries, and breakfast is à la carte. I ordered a set meal and coffee, which came to $30 including service, and it was quite delicious.

Riana LuckAfter a very long 29-hour journey, the last thing a guest wants is to feel unwelcome upon arrival.
Unfortunately, my experience at the front desk was disappointing. The female receptionist with curly hair appeared indifferent while checking me in. Even when speaking to me, she avoided eye contact and seemed focused on other tasks. In hospitality, the reception team creates the first impression of a hotel, and I found this behavior unprofessional and unfriendly.
When I checked out, the female receptionist with straight hair was also not particularly welcoming. The only receptionist who showed some warmth and friendliness was the gentleman at the front desk.
During my first night, I experienced itching and discomfort. I’m not sure whether it was related to the bedding or towels, but I requested fresh sheets and towels to be replaced.
My room was also missing a refrigerator and a safety deposit box, which I would normally expect for a more comfortable stay.
That said, I would like to recognize Alma, who kindly provided coffee for my room, and Maira from housekeeping, who worked incredibly hard and was always helpful. They were the highlights of my stay and deserve recognition for their excellent attitude and service.
I hope management takes guest feedback seriously, as a more welcoming front desk experience would make a significant difference.

Guest UserThis was my first trip to Washington, DC, and I booked this hotel in advance because the location looked great and I was able to get a really good discounted price.
Although the room was listed as having a queen bed, it honestly felt more like a double or full-size bed. I was also disappointed that the room didn’t have a microwave or refrigerator.
However, the biggest issue was how dusty the room was. I think it was the first time in my life that I sneezed more than 50 times in a single day. It bothered me throughout the entire trip, and constantly dealing with a runny nose made me even more tired. I eventually had to go to CVS and buy allergy medicine.
I chose this hotel mainly because of the price, but if I visit DC again, I would probably pay a little more and stay somewhere else. Most places are still easily connected by metro through Google Maps anyway, so getting around the city and visiting tourist attractions isn’t difficult at all.
That said, the front desk staff were friendly, and the location was convenient, so I would still recommend it for solo travelers. However, if you’re traveling with two or more people, I would suggest booking a better room than the one I stayed in, even if it costs more.

The decoration looks like an old-fashioned hotel, so the facilities are a little bit worse. But the room is big enough, the health is good, there is a coffee machine, and the customer service staff are also very polite.
It takes about ten minutes to get to the station.

Anonymous UserFirst off, I need to say that I stayed for quite a while, and I really regret it. I should have booked for just one day and then extended my stay as needed. This hotel has a strict no early checkout policy; if you leave early, they still charge you for the full booked duration.
Why do I regret it? Here are a few points I wasn't happy with:
(1) The room was too small. I booked a 'Super King Room,' which implies it's suitable for two people, but upon checking in, I realized it simply had a super king-sized bed, not a large room. On the contrary, the room was tiny; it would be okay for one person at best. The width of the room was equivalent to the length of a single mattress, and its length was about 3.2 to 3.3 times the width of a mattress (around 1.8m each, I'd guess).
(2) The hotel only offers this one room type, so there's no option to upgrade.
(3) The air quality in the room was poor. Because the room was small and had no windows, it relied entirely on the air conditioning for ventilation. After leaving in the morning and returning at night, there was still that old-fashioned train smell. This is why we left early in the morning and came back late at night – we simply didn't want to spend time in the room.
Just to clarify, pictures 2 and 3 show the actual situation with the bathroom door open.
So, if you're someone who's out all day and only comes back to sleep, if you're traveling solo, and if it's for a short stay of just a day or two, then this hotel might be acceptable.

Guest UserThis place is top notch without being pretentious and is very well placed. Couple minutes walk to JapAmer WW2 memorial and 10-15min further to post office and union station. Staff are friendly, professional and responsive. Rooms cleaned on regular basis. Amenities were great. Place is pet & ADA friendly. Just need more coffee makers. I'm officially a fan.

I did not have the pleasure of using the facilities however, I must commend the staff for always being helpful and friendly throughout my stay. I would recommend that the staff be advised on a contingency plan or when there are power cuts in the area to mitigate any discomfort and inconvenience experienced by guests. Unfortunately during my stay at the hotel, the power went out from 4am till the time I checked out at 2pm. It would have been a nice gesture to offer bottled water, discounted rates, coupons or some type of assistance to the guests who were at the hotel to ameliorate the unpleasant situation of being without power for such a long time. Other than that, I think the hotel is in a good location and is easily accessible depending on your needs in DC.

Guest UserI was here for a business trip and was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It's incredibly close to the White House, just 500 meters away, and you can even see the Monument directly from the window – the location is excellent. The hotel's food and dining options are also very good and highly recommended. The service was excellent.

Guest UserWe enjoyed our stay here in this safe neighborhood which was a 7 min walk to the Metro. Trader Joe’s across the street was convenient and we made breakfast each day. We were too busy for the fitness center. The laundry is in a small room in the basement with two washers and two dryers for $3.50/load and very nice that they provided the soap and softener. We had a problem with the lock on the door and they moved us to another room as it couldn’t be fixed in one day. I highly recommend!
