Du Lac

Du Lac ★★★

📍 17, 28th October str, Agios Nikolaos

"Generaly we enjoyed our stay in DuLac and Agios Nikolaos. We had a room on the lake side wich was simple, clean and nice with a incrediblle view with the only disadvantage being the bathroom wich was small, We felt that the price we paid was appropriate for the quality of the room. The reception lady was nice, kind and helpfull even though she said it was her 3rd or 4th week at the job, but her colleague with visible face tattos and dressing code that is not sutable not only in a hotel but any job in our opinion, made us a negative impresion. He appeared distracted, spending time on his phone sitting in the lobby couch with his feet on the table, which made it difficult to receive assistance (or asking for assistance when you see behaviour like that). Our overall experience in the hotel and in city of Agios nikolaos was nice it seems like a beatiful place wich has a lot to offer."

Elounda Heights (Adults Only)

Elounda Heights (Adults Only) ★★★★

📍 Schisma Eloundas, Elounda

"Elounda Heights is a family run hotel, set high on the side of a hill occupying an absolutely magnificent position overlooking Mirabello Bay, with spectacular sea and mountain views that set the tone for an utterly relaxing stay. We stayed in one of the brand-new air-conditioned Mirabello Suites with private pool and patio, complete with a small kitchenette, spacious walk-in rain shower, wash basin and organic toiletries. The beds are among the most comfortable we have ever slept in. Breakfasts by the pool, overlooking Mirabello Bay, are varied and very tasty. The homemade jams are not to be missed! In the evening George prepares homemade, traditional daily specials which are delicious. The accommodation throughout was very clean and comfortable. The gardens are well-tended which added to the tranquillity of the hotel. What truly elevates Elounda Heights is the staff: Natalia, Kostas, Katerina (the Cocktail Queen!), Sinead, Christina, Ritsa and every member of staff go out of their way to ensure every guest has a wonderful experience. Their warmth, friendliness and attention to detail make all the difference."

El Greco Hotel ★★★★

📍 Michail Kothri 42, Ierapetra

"The staff were very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. On asking when I had to vacate the room I was told that as I had a problem with my car I could leave everything I the room until it was resolved. This I really appreciated. The room was clean, bed was comfortable and there was 2 sachets of coffee and 2 of milk. Also a bottle of water. Bathroom was clean and towels were provided. Breakfast was good. Lots of choice and you could sit outside and look at a great view of the sun rising over Irepetra. I would not hesitate to stay here again."

Hotel Port 7- Boutique Collection ★★★

📍 Koundourou 7, Agios Nikolaos

"First off, let me start by saying there are not enough superlatives to describe this hotel and its staff. If you want to stop reading here, just know that staying here was the highlight of our recent trip to Greece and I give this property my highest recommendation... Aside from being a lovely, comfortable, beautifully decorated, place in an excellent location, it is really the staff that make this hotel so special. Maria, Anna, and Soula and their team all made us feel like family, and I would gladly stay at any hotel where they are in charge. Simple touches, like giving us the exact room we requested (502 is stunning BTW) and also putting our bags in the room for us while we waited for the rooms to be prepared, made all the difference after a long journey. The location of this property is perfect too, with easy and free parking at the Port next door, or directly behind the rear building in a small parking lot with direct access to the 4th floor. Pros and cons for this property are as follows (hint - there won't be any cons)... PROS: - The staff (Maria, Anna and Soula are amazing. We will miss them!) - Comfortable rooms (especially 502 with it's amazing balcony/terrace) - Good wifi - Excellent breakfast with eggs of your choice cooked to order - Location (you could not pick a better location in Agios Nikoloas) - Value (the price we paid was excellent for what we got) CONS: - There really aren't any, but I have to put something, so I will say that I wish the property had a pool. However, that's really not possible given the location/layout. This can also be mitigated by staying in one of the rooms with a Jacuzzi on the terrace. Overall we had a truly wonderful stay, and I do not hesitate in giving this property my highest recommendation. They treated my family (including my 80 year old father) like their own family, and I cannot speak highly enough of the staff. 5+ stars."

Ella Rocrita
9.2 (40 reviews)

Ella Rocrita ★★★★

📍 Agios Andreas, Sitia

"We stayed at Ella Rocrita from 23rd–30th July 2026 as a family of four (2 adults and 2 children aged 6 and 4) in a Junior Sea View Suite on an all-inclusive basis. Overall, we had a fantastic, relaxing holiday and would happily recommend the resort to families. The Highlights The standout feature for us was the food. We’ve stayed at a lot of all-inclusive resorts over the years, and this was probably the best buffet we’ve experienced. The quality, freshness and variety were consistently excellent throughout the week. Another huge positive was the availability of sunbeds. There was no need for the usual early morning race to reserve loungers, and with several pools spread around the resort it never felt overcrowded. The all-inclusive drinks were also a pleasant surprise, with a good selection of premium branded spirits rather than the usual local alternatives. Our children absolutely loved the pools. There was plenty of variety with different depths, which allowed them to build their confidence in the water throughout the week. The main beach pool had a particularly nice atmosphere, with a DJ playing chilled Ibiza-style music during the day, giving it a relaxed holiday vibe without being overwhelming. Our Junior Sea View Suite was comfortable and well maintained. Any minor issues we had were dealt with quickly, and the coffee pods were replenished daily, which was a nice touch. The kids’ club also deserves a mention. Sessions were available morning, afternoon or all day. We chose to send our girls for a few afternoons, and they genuinely wanted to go back each day—which says everything. A Few Downsides The resort is quite large, so be prepared for plenty of walking. It’s mostly downhill towards the beach and uphill back to reception, which may be worth bearing in mind if you have young children or mobility issues. The bar and pool staff work incredibly hard and always remained friendly, but they could really do with a few more team members during busy periods. The lifeguards were perhaps a little overzealous at times. We completely understand banning large inflatables and lilo-style floats, but preventing our 6 and 4-year-old from using simple flotation rings seemed a little unnecessary. If you’d like to eat in the à la carte restaurants, book them as soon as you arrive. Availability is limited and they fill up quickly. Finally, we experienced several overnight power cuts during our stay. Obviously this isn’t the hotel’s fault, but when the power returned all the lights in the room came back on, which wasn’t ideal with two young children asleep. Overall Despite a few minor niggles, we had a wonderful family holiday. The excellent food, quality facilities, relaxed atmosphere and child-friendly pools made for a genuinely enjoyable and restful week. We’d certainly consider returning."

Du Lac ★★★
"Located on the edge of the waterway, in a corner with great views, but far enough away from the noise, The Du Lac is well located for all of your Agios Nicholas adventures. The rooms are well sized with a balcony in a small secure hotel. The restaurant beneath the hotel is fantastic, as is the cafe bar next door. Really good value little boutique hotel."

Enorme Santanna Beach ★★★★
""A dreamlike hotel complex with genuine hospitality" One of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. In April and early May, it was wonderfully quiet and relaxing. The entire team was exceptionally friendly, warm, and always ready to help. You immediately sense that genuine hospitality is practiced there. I particularly remember the blonde lady at reception, who was always very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic every day – varied, fresh, and delicious. My favorite spot was the beautiful lounge area around the bar. There, you could sit in a very elegant and relaxed atmosphere during the day and enjoy the breathtaking view of the sea. The staff there were also incredibly friendly."

"We stumbled across this amazing place sort of by accident, having pre-booked other accommodation in the area but didn’t like it when we got there. So we had to find a suitable alternative very quickly. This place is magical! It’s in such a special place and has an wonderful energy. Early November is a beautiful time to go - very peaceful beach, exquisite clear water, calm, and such a warm welcome. The room was really clean and bright and a very comfortable big bed - we slept so well. The food is very good and all staff really helpful and friendly."

Elounda Heights (Adults Only) ★★★★
"I have reviewed Elounda Heights before but felt it worthy of another. It is a very special place with a unique atmosphere run by a small but tight team of 10 people who are all super friendly. You are well looked after, from the moment you arrive, to the time you leave. All the rooms, either studios or apartments, are immaculate with either a terrace or balcony offering uninterrupted views over the bay of Korfos and Mirabello Bay. Rooms are regularly cleaned with fresh towels and bedding every couple of days. Also, complimentary shampoos, conditioners, and moisturisers are replenished when used. The food at the pool bar is all freshly made with a good selection of Greek and other warm and cold snacks. There is an on-site restaurant and bar where meals are served every evening (except Sundays), and a daily special is created by the legend that is Vangelis. Always delicious. There is an ala carte menu too. The owners, Kostas and Natalia, are constantly improving their offering year on year, and have plans for more apartments with their own private pools for 2026 which sounds exciting. You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay at Elounda Heights, and you are quite likely to re-book once you have stayed as the number of repeat guests are testament to."

"On arrival were warmly and enthusiastically welcomed by Soula who was very excited upon learning that we had booked this particular apartment. Once we saw it we understood why, as there was a wide walkway to our own private balcony with daybed, table, chairs and a Jacuzzi overlooking the port and surrounds. It was a fantastic view of the town. The apartment was clean and well appointed. We were happy with the location, view and dining options in walking distance. Soula recommended places to eat which were great including a traditional Cretan restaurant. We only wished that we had more time here. Loved every aspect of this place!"

Ella Rocrita ★★★★
"We stayed in Ella Rocrita for 2 weeks mid June 2026. We had booked a Sea View Swimup room. We arrived around midnight and after check in (yes we had the tourist tax to pay but were aware of it) we were taken to our room on a golf cart. I was amazed by the size of the site. Our room unfortunately had an issue - the under floor heating was on and the entire room felt like a sauna, the thermostat showed the room to be 36.5c, we thought there was an issue and tried to suffer the first night adjusting the air conditioning, which over the next few hours reduced the room temperature to 27.5c by the morning. Over the next day or so we asked reception to send someone to look at the room, and eventually they did, but the workman said he could not fix it. Reception said they would move us, but not to a sea view, which we wanted, so we had to endure another night in the room. The room floor was like walking on concrete heated by the sun. The next day we were eventually moved rooms and I have to say it was a wonderful feeling. The food in the resort is excellent, the restaurants are fabulous and the staff and service is perfect. Even the buffet food was far superior to other All Inclusive resorts I have stayed in either in Europe or the Caribbean. The beach is great, a lot of waves, the pool area is perfect and there were a lot of free beds always, but we stayed at our room most days as we had full sun. The bars were all excellent, I never had an issue ordering drinks, and certainly did not have to wait. Limoncello Spritz is now my favourite drink I do not think I heard the word "no" once, and whichever staff member I met when walking around the resort I was always met with a smile and a cheerful greeting. It was my birthday when I was there and I got a cake delivered to my room, so thank you Ella Rocrita! Location wise it is remote, Mochlos is about 2km along the coast and I walked in every morning, there are a few shops and a few bars and restaurants. For food, I would highly recommend Bogazi, right on the seafront and around the corner is The Rocks bar, perfect for a sundowner. The front desk will arrange a taxi (Nikos is the man!). Overall I would say its great even with the issue with the room at the start. Would I go back? Maybe, if flight times were adjusted from Belfast to arrive a bit earlier so that we would arrive at a more reasonable time, our first day was over before we arrived. I had doubts given Facebook posts etc, but I would dispel any criticism given our experience. Also the cats are lovely, we even bought them some treats in the local supermarket, but they are very well fed, lots of people took meat etc for them from the restaurants."
