"This has to be the best hotel I've ever stayed in. The only minor downsides were the mattress being a bit firm and the pillows not being very soft. However, the excellent service and environment perfectly compensated for this. The service truly made us feel at home; every detail treated guests like returning royalty. Upon entering the Huaqing Palace scenic area from the hotel, we were given a special 'pass' that signified our guest status. The service began the moment we checked in. We had electric cart transfers throughout our stay, and the room was tidied three times. The first was before we even arrived, with welcome fruit and help with our luggage – a basic amenity for a five-star hotel. The second time, after my partner and I returned from sightseeing, we found the air conditioning pre-heated, the bed made, and the private hot spring already filling up. This was a delightful surprise. The third time, after an excellent experience watching the 'Song of Everlasting Sorrow' from our front-row seats, our room had been tidied again, and hot tremella soup was left for us to enjoy after our soak. When we overslept the next morning, breakfast was delivered right to our room. The food was delicious and clearly not just some pre-made meal; it was thoughtfully prepared. The hotel restaurant also exceeded expectations. I hadn't anticipated much, thinking it might be a casual eatery, but the steamed fish with persimmon vinegar was absolutely stunning. The hotel staff were always responsive to our needs and incredibly attentive. We will definitely return. It was a wonderfully happy travel experience. (The photoshoot was also perfect; the photographer was great at capturing emotions and very skilled)."

"We were extremely satisfied with our stay. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, all the staff were incredibly warm and attentive, providing impeccable service. Sophie, in particular, genuinely values the guest experience and is always eager to listen to feedback. The room itself was elegant and comfortable, offering a breathtaking view, especially as dusk settled and the city lights illuminated the ancient city, creating a truly mesmerizing nightscape. The spa and pool provided the perfect sanctuary to unwind after a busy day. Without a doubt, this hotel sets the benchmark for luxury accommodations in Xi'an. We will certainly choose to stay here again on our next visit."

"I paid an extra 400 RMB to upgrade to a suite, which not only included breakfast for three and a complimentary non-alcoholic mini-bar, but also more than doubled the size of the room. The butler confidently said I'd be very happy with it, and he was right. I was excited from the moment I walked in – it was absolutely perfect. The huge balcony offered a panoramic view of Qujiang Pond, and even though I don't usually enjoy baths, the oversized bathtub made me want to take one. The amenities were also a step up, with wooden-handled toothbrushes and shaving foam, which weren't available in the standard rooms. Before heading back to the room in the evening, I could go to the first-floor bar for a couple of complimentary cocktails, and upon returning, I found some complimentary snacks. The next day's breakfast was incredibly rich, with a wide variety of local Xi'an delicacies all in one place. I heard the pool and gym are also superb, but I didn't have time to experience them. Overall, I'll definitely choose this place first on my next visit to Xi'an. Oh, and there's an 'urgent' button on the phone, and the service response was prompt – kudos to them!"

"We stayed for two nights, on the 16th and 17th. On the 15th, I received a call from the hotel asking about our room preferences. I requested a room with a good view, non-smoking, and quiet. When we checked in, the staff assigned us room 213. This was the lowest floor I've ever stayed on in a hotel, and it was room number 13! I was surprised that the hotel actually had a room 13! How could an international hotel like this assign room 13 to a foreigner? During afternoon tea that day, besides my husband, myself, and an Asian mother and daughter, all the other guests were foreigners. This made me realize even more why I was so unlucky to get room 13! This hotel has such a unique room number 13, and they treat their own compatriots differently from foreigners! However, the smart toilet in room 13 was broken. It wouldn't automatically lift the lid or flush when you stood in front of it. What was even more unbearable was that as soon as you sat on it, the toilet would make a loud gurgling sound and automatically spray water on your backside. We tried it twice, and it happened both times. Also, the light switch was malfunctioning and didn't work. As a result, our room was changed to room 206. Neither room 13 nor room 06 had a French garden view; you could only see trees outside the window. Room 06 overlooked a concrete platform. I stayed during the off-season, and there were only a handful of guests at both afternoon tea and breakfast. Even during the peak breakfast time at 8 AM, there were only four tables with no more than ten guests. In such an off-season, why couldn't they offer us a higher floor with a better view? The male butler from the hotel called in advance on the 15th to ask about my room preferences; wasn't that just being insincere and fake? The staff's service level was inconsistent. Two female servers at afternoon tea and breakfast simply didn't observe guests' needs. The slim, tall female server in the afternoon tea restaurant had an ice-cold expression and no proactive service awareness. One female server in the breakfast restaurant looked like she hadn't woken up yet, with messy hair, no makeup, and ill-fitting work clothes, completely lacking the demeanor of a star-rated hotel employee. More importantly, this server didn't proactively observe guests' tables. Every time, we had to call her to take away the empty plates. Even more exaggerated, when she took away empty plates, she wouldn't simultaneously take away empty cups, nor would she think to ask. Let's talk about the problems with the breakfast restaurant: First, the flowers on the dining tables were fake! For a 'diamond-level' hotel like this, how can they put fake flowers on the tables? If they want to save costs, there are many ways: place some air plants or soilless succulents, or even small, easy-to-care-for plants. Anything real would be more tasteful than these fake ones. Regardless, a 'diamond-level' hotel should not have fake flowers on its dining tables. This is disrespectful to guests. Second, there was a wide variety of bread, but no chain-type toaster to heat the bread. This is usually a staple at the bread station in five-star hotels. Yet, at this 'super five-star' hotel, you can only eat cold bread for breakfast. Third, the restaurant only provided toothpicks, not dental floss sticks. Nowadays, even very ordinary restaurants offer dental floss sticks. A 'diamond-level' hotel like this should provide guests with dental floss sticks, and ideally, toothpick brushes. Additionally, the steps in the bathrooms of both room 13 and room 06 were damaged. In room 13, the hotel actually used cheap, uneven gray adhesive corner guards, which looked very out of place and clashed with the exquisite French decor. They should have used brass stair nosings! During my two-day stay at the hotel, Ms. Doris Du's kindness, politeness, proactive work attitude, and professional image left a very good impression on me. After we checked in and received our key, she led us to our room. She first gave us a tour of the hotel and introduced its history. On the day we checked out, she happened to be on duty at the front desk. She was the only staff member at the hotel who immediately stood up to greet guests upon seeing them! The only one! This small professional gesture of hers was like the first ray of sunshine in the morning, warming my heart! Recalling my check-in, there was a male and female staff member at the front desk. They did not stand up to greet us when guests checked in. When we received our room cards and got up to leave, they remained seated without moving. This is disrespectful to guests. Staff should stand up to greet guests when they arrive, ask them to sit down, and then sit down themselves to process the check-in. When guests receive their room cards and get up, the staff should also stand up to see them off. Such basic courtesies of polite welcome and farewell were completely lacking! On the day I checked in, I had two items of clothing that needed ironing. The female staff member who was on duty at the front desk that day came to our room to collect them. During the process of opening the door to see her, handing her the clothes, and briefly communicating with her, she maintained an ice-cold demeanor throughout, without a hint of a smile. She was not the only female staff member in this hotel who provided service without a smile. In summary, all these issues, and more, expose the hotel's unprofessional training and inadequate management. Sofitel Legend People's Grand Hotel Xian is not directly affiliated with the Sofitel group; it is part of the People's Grand Building owned by Shaanxi Urban Investment and Operations Group Co., Ltd., and is operated by AccorHotels, a French hotel management group. Therefore, the experience was vastly different from the Sofitel hotels I've stayed at abroad."

"The Novotel Xian Bell Tower is a highly recommended choice for its prime location and comfortable accommodations. Our single-night stay was very pleasant, and we appreciated that the hotel offers complete and modern amenities for guests.Having access to a well-equipped gym and a free self-service laundry facility significantly enhanced the convenience of our visit. We want to specifically recognize Serena Zhao and Faye Mu for their warm welcome and exceptionally helpful assistance throughout our stay ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️"

"We stayed in a three beds family room for four days. The location is very good, walking distance to Gulou, Zhonglou, huimin street. The breakfast is very good, has an onsite noodle or wanton cooking station, it features different Xian flavors every day, the liangpi is good, the Zhengao is good too. The hotel also has afternoon tea, it has different Chinese or western pastries, we enjoyed it the first day we came. In the evening, it provided sweet soup, I enjoyed very much. The room is always clean, the shower is strong and the hair blower is powerful. The towels and linens are all of super quality. The hotel also offered to lead umbrella, it was raining every day we stayed there. We had enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again next time we come to Xian."

The bedding had just the right firmness, ensuring a great night's sleep until morning. The gym equipment was comprehensive and new, and even the yoga mats were well-sanitized. The bathroom water temperature was perfect, and the shower head provided quick, strong water flow. The attention to detail was everywhere, from the complimentary mini-bar drinks to the USB fast-charging ports by the bed – it was all so thoughtful and comfortable! The front desk lady was gentle, understanding, and very helpful!"

"The location is incredibly convenient! Right outside Exit B of Longshouyuan Station on Metro Line 2, you'll find the hotel. This was a lifesaver for someone like me who easily gets lost! It's quick and easy to get to the Bell Tower, Muslim Quarter, and the high-speed train station. The hotel definitely has a classic, 'old-money' charm. Initially, I thought the facilities might be a bit dated, but they are actually very well-maintained. Overall, the service was truly commendable. As soon as you approach the hotel, staff are there to help with your luggage, and the front desk handled things very smoothly. What truly impressed me was the exceptional daily housekeeping. Whether we were in the room or not, they would consistently come to replace disposable amenities and towels, and tidy up. Another highlight for me was the heated swimming pool. We brought our child on this trip, and they went there every single day! Even though it was a bit chilly these past few days, the heated pool meant it didn't affect our enjoyment at all. Overall, it's definitely worth recommending. It might not be the best fit for young people seeking the latest tech gadgets or a super modern feel, but it's very suitable for family trips or business travel."

"My overall experience at this five-star hotel was absolutely wonderful. I especially loved the marshmallow-soft bed – once you lie down, you won't want to move! It provided excellent relaxation for my tired body after a full day of exploring the Terracotta Warriors. I always enjoy staying in hotels with unique and stylish designs, and I took many photos here because every corner was exquisitely beautiful. The hotel boasts an excellent central location, right next to the bustling and vibrant Grand Tang Dynasty Everbright City. Despite its prime spot, it was incredibly quiet in the room – I couldn't hear any noise from outside the window while sleeping. Occasionally, I'd hear conversations from people passing by in the hallway, but it wasn't disruptive. The suite was spacious, and the in-room amenities were comprehensive, including an iron and ironing board. The only minor suggestion would be to upgrade the quality of the combs provided, which would make it even more perfect. Breakfast was served until 10:30 AM, which I found very thoughtful as it allowed for a leisurely 'beauty sleep' before heading down to enjoy a late breakfast. The restaurant staff were welcoming and helpful, and there was a wide array of delicious dishes. Despite my 'eyes being bigger than my stomach,' I managed to pick my favorites and arrange a delightful plate. As I arrived late, the staff had already begun clearing up and cleaning as breakfast service concluded. I enjoy taking photos, and after finishing my meal, I wanted to capture some shots of the restaurant's ambiance. I noticed the staff, having finished cleaning, were diligently preparing and arranging the dishes for lunch. During the time I spent taking photos, I inadvertently observed the professionalism and high standards of the restaurant staff. In the bread and western food section, a young chef was meticulously setting up the bread display. His full protective gear – hat, mask, and gloves – was impeccable, which immediately reassured me about the hygiene standards. He politely moved aside when he saw me taking photos. Later, as he placed a chef figurine and prepared to leave, I gestured for him to be in a picture. He very cooperatively posed. The photo showed him using his gloved right hand to arrange the bread, while his ungloved left hand was behind his back (he had been wearing gloves on both hands earlier and likely removed one after finishing the display). This small detail underscored his meticulousness and commitment to hygiene. After taking the photo, I thanked him, and he politely replied, 'You're welcome.' I also want to mention another detail I observed: while he was arranging the display, an older, presumably senior chef came over and made some minor adjustments to the arrangement. This chef moved all the food items slightly forward and meticulously explained to the young chef that placing them closer to the front would make it more convenient for guests to access them. All these small details I witnessed truly showcased the professional quality of the staff. Thumbs up!👍 If any hotel staff read this review, please extend my high praise to both chefs in the restaurant. I hope it encourages them to love what they do even more, knowing that their efforts are seen, appreciated, and applauded. Finally, I had misremembered the check-out time. I was leisurely packing my bags, thinking check-out was at 2 PM. Around 1 PM, the hotel front desk proactively messaged me on WeChat, asking if I needed assistance with a late check-out. Upon learning I was leaving, they also asked if I required a concierge colleague to help with my luggage. The high-quality, polite, friendly, and enthusiastic service from all staff members made me feel truly valued and provided a VIP experience. Additionally, the hotel features its own museum with beautiful exhibits. It's a wonderful place to quietly admire the items and discover the beauty in each one – you're sure to find something you absolutely love. "Pros: 1. The location is superb, just a stone's throw away from the Grand Tang Everbright City (大唐不夜城). 2. The hotel boasts extremely spacious and upscale public areas that feel very comfortable. 3. Rooms are generously sized, featuring large bathrooms and a dedicated walk-in closet. 4. Breakfast is extensive, offering a great variety of local specialty foods. Cons: 1. The toilet in the bathroom was quite uncomfortable to use, especially for prolonged sitting. 2. The staff member who delivered bottled water knocked but failed to announce herself (e.g., 'Hello, I'm from housekeeping'). 3. The standard of polite language from the lobby security needs improvement. For example, when an out-of-town vehicle, unfamiliar with the road conditions, mistakenly entered against the traffic flow, the security guard's immediate remark was: 'There's a big arrow on the ground, can't you see it?' My thought was, 'I *did* see it, but does that justify driving against traffic? Why aren't there clearer, upright signs for the exit? Wouldn't that be more noticeable?' I truly hope you can consider these issues more from a customer's point of view."
