"A huge house like in a Disney cartoon - animals are everywhere :) Marloth Park is a unique wildlife+accommodation project. The town and its villas are drowned in trees and bushes full of animals roaming around. We were excited to see giraffes, kudu, warthog, zebras, impala, wildebeest, monkeys and other animals all around the village. They roam freely, so meeting them everywhere is a part of staying in Doringpoort lodge :) The house itself has 3 bedrooms, a huge dining/living room, 3 bathrooms with 2 showers, a fully equipped kitchen with all the dishes and utensils, a BBQ area and and outdoor dining hall - all with fantastic wooden handmade designer furniture and some antique items. The beds are comfortable, there's always electricity available as they have a generator on the property, European sockets, Wifi and hot water. There were no mosquitoes in our rooms. The pool is 3 by 2 metres, very nice to realx after a day of safari. Kruger Park is right across the river from Marloth Park, and Crocodile River Bridge Gate into the park is 20 min drive. We walked 100m to the river and saw the animals of Kruger park there - Hippos, elephants, buffalo and a multitude of birds... In the evening, while we were making a BBQ, Bush babies came to visit - we fed them bananas :) We also visited a wildlife park right in the middle of the village - Lionspruit reserve. It takes 2-3 hours to drive around, and we saw all kinds of wonderful wildlife very close to us... Amazing! Marina, the manager of Doringpoort, was always there for us. The cleaning was every day, everything was very tidy and efficient. Thank you very much for such an unforgettable experience! · The property exceeded our expectations :)"

"We had a wonderful stay at La Kruger which managed to substantially exceed all our expectations. The lodge itself is a collection of elegant buildings which are obviously well maintained and scrupulously clean. Our room had all that we required: the bed was very comfy, everything in the bathroom worked properly, the air conditioning was very effective and kept the room cool in 38C. There are places to sit very comfortably around the complex as well as outside one's room and a couple of plunge pools. The staff were quite delightful. Charming and ever helpful. Sobelo, Given and the others did everything possible to make our stay a delight. The food was truly excellent. Breakfast wás comprehensive and delicious, lunch for the few not on safari and other trips, simple but tasty and the dinners imaginative and delicious. The Kruger National Park, it's staff and the game rangers really came up trumps. In 3 safaris (and another in Marloth Park itself) we saw lions twice, spent time with a pack of wild dogs, saw a leopard and a cheetah, some kudu and dozens of elephants and giraffe, got surrounded by a herd of buffalo ( bit unnerving!) and saw innumerable zebra, impala and other buck. A truly wonderful trip and an excellent place to stay"

"We (mum and daughter) had an absolutely brilliant stay with Val and Neil. They were so welcoming, very knowledgeable, we had great conversations with them. It was a very personal experience where they wanted each of their guests to feel at home. Our room was great, spacious, the bed was so comfortable. Well presented. Everything was spotlessly clean! We choose half board. (Definitely recommend) The food was really lovely, and lots of it. Val organised the safaris for us too. They were even there at 3.30am with our picnic and to make sure that our pick up went smoothly. We managed to see The Big 5. Amazing!! The pool was an added bonus, lots of animals came to visit and we also met Charlie the crocodile in the lake at the bottom of the garden. It was our favourite accommodation in the 3 weeks we travelled across South Africa. We would definitely stay with them again and would highly recommend Dream of Africa Bush Lodge to everyone. "We received a friendly welcome from Johan and were shown to our room with views overlooking the crocodile river. The room itself was on the tired side, but it was clean and the large double bed was very extremely comfortable and we slept very well. The bathroom had a shower over the bath, the pressure was fabulous and we had constant hot water. It was rather nice standing under the shower overlooking the river.. similarly sitting on the balcony with a cup of coffee late afternoon and soaking up the sun whilst animal spotting... all very relaxing. All the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly - thank you all! We enjoyed our stay"

"The unit was not cleaned. Shavings in the basin. Shower door handles broken. 2 plate stove that needs to be moved around to be used to cook on. The little table in the kitchen is a joke. The mirror in bathroom is broken. Inside the shower was a razor. Empty compliment bottles in shower. Overall we will rather booked somewhere else in Marloth and get more for our money. The unit was a disappointment"
