The Signature Lodge with a private pool is well worth it! You absolutely must go there!"

"This is our second stay at this hotel returning after just 10 months . Our experience with them we can honestly say was even better ( we didn’t think that was possible before our return ) than when we stayed with them in January 2025 . The location , the food and comfort was excellent but the crowning glory of this hotel is their staff who will go to great lengths to provide their guests with an extremely comfortable stay . It felt like coming home . Thank you for a lovely stay !"

"We stayed here only for one night. Our welcome was fabulous - cold Towels and a lovely drink after a long journey. Gernot was very helpful with everything we needed, organising our jeep to the safari the next morning, and our dinner for that night. The whole place was very clean, and everyone very friendly. We highly recommend a stay here to feel right in the jungle and immerse yourself!"

"Wild Glamping Gal Oya was our second Thema Group property (after Knuckles Wild Glamping), near the Gal Oya National Park which is centred around the 70 year old Senanayake reservoir. The resort features 5 family tents and 15 doubles, each under thatch or timber roof with heated showers and flush WC. The family tents have two rooms, and should sleep 4 comfortably. Alarm clocks are not needed as the local peacocks do an admirable job! There is mains power but no WiFi, and only intermittent mobile coverage so just lock away your phone and reconnect with life. The property has a generous pool with sunbeds, pool towels and sunshades, surrounded by lawn and next to the central bar and restaurant area and the reception. On arrival guests are allocated a host who looks after them, ours was Pathun, a trainee naturalist. He conducted our farm walk to introduce the concept - the property is part of a working farm, with both the local community and the indigenous Vedda people actively involved. We had family villa 15, which we think has the best position - set back (with 14) from the central facilities, with views over paddy fields and sunsets over Monkey Mountain. We undertook 4 activities - a boat safari, a jungle walk with the Vedda, a boat trip on the local village reservoir and a trek up Monkey Mountain, all of which Pathun accompanied us on. All were worthwhile, it's worth noting that the Monkey Mountainm trek is quite demanding and requires a certain level of fitness, but the views are stunning. The staff were all welcoming and friendly, and we must make special mention of Pravithra, who seemed to be everywhere from the bar, restaurant to the spa (great ayurvedic massage!), and the kitchen team who produced a wonderful range of dishes. WGG is a wonderful resort for a 3-4 day escape, with or without family."

The food was amazing, some of the best we’ve had. Everything was freshly made, beautifully prepared, full of flavour, and they offered plenty of delicious options. The rooms were very clean, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable, adding even more to the relaxing atmosphere. There were no noises at all — only the calming sounds of nature — and the entire experience was truly value for money. They offer fantastic kids‑friendly activities, including a dedicated spa experience just for children. My kids enjoyed every activity, especially the spa time and the cooking session. Everything was organised perfectly, the instructions were clear, and the staff made the kids feel safe, comfortable, and excited. The team was incredibly friendly throughout. We also enjoyed the nature walk, and the naturalist explained everything so well. Even though it was early in the morning, the kids absolutely loved it. The swimming pool in the evening was beautiful — peaceful, relaxing, and surrounded by breathtaking scenery. The surroundings are stunning — peaceful nature, beautiful paddy fields, a charming temple in the middle of the fields, and complete serenity all around. It was a truly memorable experience for our whole family, and we would definitely love to visit again. Highly recommended!”"

"07/04/2026 (04th of July 2026) We had the best experience here at Galoya Lodge. Loved the greenary, wildlife, the plentiful food and the very friendly and knowledegable staff. Your Manager was so good, he knew everything about the animals and vegetation here. We did enjoy having early morning walks to the closest Rathugama (?) Wewa where I was able to experience the most enchanting, calm and quiet village life with cattle, water birds, lotuses in the wewa (tank). We thoroughly enjoyed the boat ride at Senanayake Samudraya. It was such a lovely experience having got the chance to watch many wild elephants, water bird habitats & beautiful sunsets! We would definitely share this lovely experience with our family & friends and encourage them to visit this beautiful place. "My wife & I stayed at the Kynrock Hotel & Resorts in Kataragama on 14th February during our bi-annual visit to Kataragama. We had a wonderful time at this lovely hotel, Kynrook in Kataragama. I was told that the hotel had started during August 2025. When you entered the hotel, it looks like a classical American hotel. When you enter first you will see classic swimming pool. We came on time and the staff's warm welcome made us feel at home. The room was ready when we arrived. We were on the 3rd floor, and the room is fairly larger than I expected. Rooms were clean, spacious, and had lot of space. It has all the amenities we needed. There are plenty of plug points in the room which would be useful for different work simultaneously. I was highly impressed with architectural design of the room. The price is very reasonable. The rooms facing a large paddy field were very beautiful and the lobby for each room is facing the paddy field. The room service was excellent. The food was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable stay in Kataragama. When I go to Kataragam next, I will never stay at any other hotel other than Kynrock. "We have just spent 3 nights here and it was wonderful. The team, led by Chatura, is fantastic. His English was amazing and they go out of their way to help you and ensure your stay is comfortable. The rooms are as described - excellent AC and very spacious. It is not classic hotel luxury - but that is obvious when you book. The food is good and tasty and fairly priced, all freshly prepared and home made. We booked the Jungle Safari through the hotel and it was excellent - go for the half day starting at 6am. Any shorter and you’ll miss the animals. We also booked taxis through them - to and from the hotel."

"We had a short but enjoyable stay at the Centauria Wild Resort and had a wonderful lakeside view. The hotel is ideally positioned for Jeep Safari in Udawalawe National Park and to visit the Elephant Transit home. We really enjoyed the buffet breakfast which offered lots of choices. The Service was excellent. Staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. A Special mention to our cheerful barman Lalitha who served our drinks and the hotel manager Damitha who sorted out a late checkout for us."
