"This hotel has become well known for being a book lovers haven. The hotel itself is super interesting and each room is different. My friend and I each stayed in different parts of the hotel and had very different looking and feeing rooms. Which means each time you stay there; there could be a new discovery. The hallways and corridors are lined with books. Even if you don't stay here I would highly recommend eating at the restaurant. The food was amazing every time. The only thing I would recommend if this hotel needs more cozy reading areas. They have a couple but they are not the most comfortable places to sit; although they are definitely aesthetically pleasing and fit the vibe of the hotel's history. We spent a lot of time out in the courtyard reading; there's a great spot under a large tree with canvas chairs."

The low-rise buildings blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings, making you feel connected to the environment rather than isolated from it. The rooms are impressively spacious and feature some wonderful amenities. The standout feature was definitely the hot tub positioned in the middle of the room - perfect for relaxation after a day of exploring. The in-room fireplace added a cozy touch that I particularly appreciated during the evenings. There is a coffee machine , separated shower and toilet which unfortunately was not properly aired as the vent did not work The décor strikes a good balance between rustic charm and minimalist design. The simplistic, uncluttered approach creates a calming environment that complements the natural setting outside. There is an enormous library. With hundreds of books and multiple comfortable reading areas, it's a bibliophile's dream. The dining area continues the natural theme with beautiful wood elements and recycled fabric decorations that maintain the eco-friendly aesthetic. Breakfast was somewhat disappointing - a limited selection of cheese and pastries, with scrambled eggs and pre-fried eggs that were unfortunately served cold. This is definitely an area where improvements could be made. Dinner, however, was excellent The restaurant offers local cuisine with creative modern twists. Dinner during was delightful, showcasing fresh ingredients and thoughtful preparation. This hotel excels at creating a tranquil retreat that celebrates its natural surroundings. The spacious rooms with luxury touches like hot tubs and fireplaces, combined with the impressive library and excellent dinner offerings, make for a memorable stay. Highly recommended for travelers seeking a peaceful nature escape with comfortable accommodations and a respect for local culinary traditions."

"The hotel is just inside the walled city, which is easily reached through a small door opening on the wall. The room we were given was large, clean and had all the amenities you needed. The receptionist was also very friendly and informative, providing us with great dinner suggestions, which were really delicious. The only thing you have to lug your luggage from the outside wall to the hotel which we were warned about. And our room was just above the loudspeaker from the attached restaurant, which fortunately shuts at 10.30pm. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel."

"Lovely location. There are rooms in the castle, but if you want this, suggest you contact hotel to confirm as most rooms are in the annex attached to castle. You cant enter town walls - but park outside, call and give your location and hotel will send a van for you and your luggage. Food in hotel restaurant is excellent. Full access to the castel as a guest whether staying in castle itself or annex."

"The hotel is located next to the Castle of Obidos, just a few minutes' walk from the medieval castle and monastery. The hotel has free indoor parking. The overall hotel layout is full of medieval style, with a wood-burning fireplace, bows and shields hanging on the wall, swords and foreign rifles with bayonets placed on the ground. The room is clean and comfortable, the service staff is friendly and you will feel at home. The disadvantages are that the water pressure is too low, the faucets and water valves are very old, and it is not very comfortable to bathe."
