📍 Shimaneken Odashi Yunotsu Choyu no Tsu, Oda

"The old-fashioned Japanese-style building has a charming atmosphere and is very relaxing. Thank you for storing our luggage early. This allowed us to easily take a bath at Yakushiyu and stroll around the fishing port, which was very helpful. It's basically self-service, but amenities, a kettle, tableware, and other facilities were provided, so we were able to relax without any problems. The photo shows Yakushiyu, which is a one-minute walk away;"

📍 2072-1 Sanbecho Shigaku, Oda

"This is a national lodging facility near Mt. Sanbe. I used it for a day trip. The bathing fee is 650 yen. The two open-air barrel baths are filled with 33-degree hot spring water. Fine powder-like hot spring deposits are floating around. The reddish-brown barrel baths are heated. They are also warm and comfortable. The indoor bath is heated and circulated."

📍 19 Yunotsuro, Yunotsu-cho, Oda

"We were able to relax in a clean room that was too spacious for two people. There was a low table in the room, so we were able to enjoy the meals we brought with us. There was no TV, but there was no problem if we played music on our smartphones via WiFi. However, we were a little worried that we were disturbing the people in the next room as we ate our meals while talking normally. It was a relief that the neighbors didn't give us any unpleasant looks when we met them the next morning... If that wasn't a problem, I would like to use the room again."

"This is the oldest inn in Yunotsu. When visiting a hot spring resort for the first time, I always choose historic inns and like to hear about the town's history and origins from the innkeeper, so I chose this one without hesitation. [Rooms] Parts of the building remain from the Meiji era. In recent years, the interior has been modernized and the number of rooms with beds has increased. I prefer traditional Japanese-style rooms, even if they are a little inconvenient, so I stayed in the "Kinnami" room, which has retained most of its Meiji-era design rather than a fully renovated room. However, this room was comfortable with a renovated bathroom, a table and chairs in the tatami room, an adjoining bedroom, and the air conditioning worked well, so there were no problems with the older room. [Food] Since I was planning a week-long stay, I figured the amount of regular ryokan meals would be too much for me, so I initially booked a room-only plan. However, after reading reviews of the inn and learning about its excellent food, I decided to book a one-night stay with two meals included. As everyone has said, both dinner and breakfast were truly delicious, and the tableware was also exquisite. However, because it was so delicious, it was impossible to eat the same amount every day, so from my second night onwards, I opted for lighter meals at nearby restaurants... (laughs). Many of the restaurant owners are young people who have moved here, and they always say, "Masuya Ryokan serves the best food in Yunotsu." It's clear that all these young chefs respect the head chef of Masuya Ryokan, and I thought this was a really great town. [Baths] Yunotsu Onsen has two hot springs, Motoyu and Yakushiyu, both of which are available as outdoor baths. Masuya Ryokan apparently draws its water from Yakushiyu. The bath area is not large and there is no open-air bath, but the water quality is excellent. This is a famous hot spring that is perfect for those who are particular about water quality and natural hot spring water. There is also a newly renovated and beautiful free-use private bath, making it convenient for people who require assistance and families with children. [Location] Located in a beautiful townscape designated as a World Heritage Site, about a 15-minute walk from JR Yunotsu Station, the inn offers shuttle service to and from the station. The hot spring town is small, so outdoor baths and restaurants are within five minutes of the inn. Ryugozen Shrine, where Yunotsu Kagura dance is dedicated, is located almost diagonally across the street. The Yunotsu Kagura performance was a powerful and magnificent piece of local performing art. Strolling around the hot spring town in a yukata was also enjoyable. [Access] The nearest station is JR Yunotsu Station on the San'in Main Line, which has few trains. It is a remote location, far from all major nearby points, including Izumo Airport, Iwami Airport, Okayama Station, Hiroshima Station, and Yamaguchi Station. However, this is precisely why the inn is located in a beautiful hot spring town that maintains its tranquility and elegance. I highly recommend this inn for anyone looking to enjoy a quiet, traditional Japanese hot spring experience."

📍 Yunotsuchō Yunotsu, ロ−202−1, Oda

"It's located near the center of the Yunotsu Onsen hot spring town. The retro atmosphere of the hot spring town is nice, and the hot springs at the nearby Yakushi-yu bath were excellent. However, the service at the inn was extremely disappointing. Yunotsu Onsen is inconvenient, so I think another hot spring resort would have been better."

📍 12-2, Yunotsuguchi, Yunotsu-Cho, Oda

"Although the inn is located in an old townscape, the rooms have been renovated and have a lovely, clean interior. I was impressed the moment I stepped inside. I apologize for any inconvenience caused as I was staying with my 2-year-old grandson, but I appreciate the excellent service and warm welcome. Thank you very much. I would definitely stay here again if I visit Yunotsu Onsen again."

"When I arrived I found myself a little scared because I hadn't read that check in is done in another structure. I called, I don't know how (I 0 Japanese and 0 English) I got to get me, I was very kind. The building is a very clean and well restored old house. The walls are very thin and the sound is minimal, I am silent and I was lucky because the others were it. There is a small kitchen and parking. The room is very beautiful and spacious. Neighbors are several onsen."

"I visited Sanbe Onsen, known for its red waters rich in metasilicic acid and iron, as a quick dip into the hot springs. The open-air bath, which flows directly from the source, is a lukewarm 33 degrees Celsius, so you won't get too hot even in the summer, and it's a place you'll want to stay in for a long time. The Ota specialty, giant conger eel soba noodles, that I had at the restaurant was also quite delicious. I've heard the starry sky is also wonderful, so I'd like to return someday to enjoy the open-air bath while gazing at the stars."

"I fully enjoyed the atmosphere of the Japanese countryside. The experience at the nearby 1,400-year-old hot spring was also charming. I highly recommend this place if you want to taste the tranquil, old-world charm of Japan. The meals are also typical of Japanese home cooking. I was able to rest even more comfortably thanks to the kind owner who speaks Korean."
