"Although we stayed at Aobakan, we were able to relax in a spacious Japanese-style room. It was a bit of a walk to Momijikan, but the corridors were lined with Naruko Kokeshi dolls and other art pieces, which we enjoyed taking photos of. The large baths on the first and second floors were also spacious, allowing us to relax and unwind. The evening buffet included a tasting set of local sake, allowing us to try four different types of sake from Iwate, and the wide variety of food made for a satisfying meal. For breakfast, we were served the ankoro mochi (sweet bean paste rice cakes) and ozoni (rice cake soup) that we had heard so much about, and we thoroughly enjoyed the taste of Tohoku mochi."
