"The hotel is located in a private tourist area, very quiet and comfortable. The hotel staff also explained in detail the tourist activities in the area. Unfortunately, it was too cold in the room at night and there was no heating."

"This was our third stay at Mount Etjo and just as good as the previous visits. We return for a number of reasons, primarily because the game drives are superb and never disappoint. This time we went on an evening drive and a morning one, both with Job. He was excellent, entertaining, informative and persistent in tracking down the lions, which we really appreciated. I took more than 600 photos on the two drives! The food is excellent and I love the afternoon tea and cakes with the cheeky blue starlings. On previous visits we have had a family room, but with older children we opted for separate twin rooms. The rooms are clean and were perfectly adequate for our two night stay. They could do with updating (my daughter's shower wasn't great), but this is a minor issue. The grounds are lovely and we spent hours sitting and watching the hippos, including a baby hippo, and heaps of wildlife, including elephants and giraffes, at the water hole by the lodge. Absolutely amazing! The staff are always helpful, friendly and strive to make your stay as good as it can be. Compared with four years ago and our last visit, Namibia has become extremely expensive overall, including accommodation, but we knew we would have a great time at Mount Etjo and it didn't disappoint."

"Cosyly furnished, clean and spacious room with large bathroom. Great is the proximity to a first-class restaurant with a large beer garden and beautiful terrace. The restaurant is also frequented by locals and is really recommendable. There are not only pizza, burgers and steaks, also wild foods. Breakfast buffet is varied and delicious. "

"We chose Aloegrove to relax for a couple of nights after our 1,800 mile tour of Namibia. The communication with the hosts Johan and Ivy was fabulous during the booking process. The lodge is a good 20 mins along a track, well signposted, and by this point we were used to Namibian roads, so the uneven bits were no surprise. We were greeted by staff and showed our fabulous accommodation, spacious and the attention to detail was brilliant, bubble bath for the bath with a spectacular view, beautiful quality bed linen, ground coffee etc etc etc... Everything is there that you could need! We self catered for the first night with the indoor braai, we ate at the lodge the second night, the chef made a beautiful meal and fantastic breakfast with scrambled ostrich egg. Afternoon coffee and cake is also a real treat. we joined Johan and Ivy's tour of their farm and feeding their rescued big cats. So informative about the all the animals. I highly recommend the tour, it was great fun and we learnt lots. Johan, Ivy and their lovely staff cannot do enough for the guests. On our last morning we sat down with a map with them and planned our net trip to Namibia, they shared their knowledge of the best routes and places to travel to, of course we will start and finish with a stay at Aloegrove! We stayed is some lovely places on our journey but nothing matched the luxurious experience at Aloegrove."
