"What an amazing getaway. We stayed for one night in the middle of winter and never got cold, the tents were so warm, cozy and well insulated. The restaurant serves excellent food. The staff are so friendly and wonderful. We went for a bush safari drive at sunset and an elephant experience in the morning and would recommend both. The elephants are such incredible creatures to see, touch and feed up close."

"It is a pity that we stayed here for just 1 day! The hostess has booked a table for us at the best nearest restaurant. The combination of architecture and the atmosphere of the farm is beautiful. The only minus: In other reviews people said they saw a mouse, but I, unfortunately, have not seen them anywhere, only 3 beautifully nurtured dogs of the hostess. I will come back here for a longer time."

"Soetdoring (on De Zeekoe farm) was the first stayover we had for our honeymoon, and we were so impressed! We had such easy and effective communication with the owner, received a tranquil cabin with a beautiful big patio overlooking the farm dam and felt so at peace. The cabin is also equipt with everything and more (aircon, wifi, braai facilities, modern bathroom and a nice big bed with mosquito netting). The farm has ample wildlife and bird species to view (so bring your binoculars!) and to add icing to the cake, the farm even has an amazing restaurant just a few minutes away! What more do you want? "

"THE GOOD- restaurant and cleaning staff were amazing and took great care of us. Bed was comfortable. Room and property very clean and well maintained. Food was excellent at the restaurant. Pool was wonderful , peaceful and staff very attentive. Great Location. THE BAD: Dogs constantly barking from neighbourhood properties. Not Marriott's fault but if we had been upgraded as we should have then Im sure we would not have heard the dogs every night. The front desk lady who was on when we checked in on March 3rd 2026 and was back on when we checked out March 6th. She did not acknowledge our Gold membership. My husband travelled with Marriott for years and was a platinum. Once retired he became a lifetime Gold member. As for Marriott that means nothing. This is the 3rd Marriott we have stayed on this recent trip and have never been acknowledged as a gold member and never given an upgrade. She told us that they were fully booked over the next few days and could not upgrade up. That simply was not true. Not sure why we bother booking with this company. The standards have gone down on recognition of membership, loyalty, room amenities such as toothbrushes when forgotten and more. I would have given this hotel a 4 star if the front desk had treated us differently and we had received a good nights rest. It really ruins your holiday when you cannot sleep past 4 am due to dogs barking and hearing guests next door through the walls."

"When reading other reviews, we wonder whether we may have stayed in a different place. We got unlucky with the meerkats, which was down to the weather and obviously no fault of the farm. The food was ok, but in comparison to the other hotels we have stayed in on our tour, it was decidedly average. Having been greeted in every hotel we have stayed in so far, which such genuine friendly people,The greatest downside for us with de zeekoe, was how offside all the staff were (save the lady who checked us out, being the 1 exception).. we thought it must have been just been us, until we met another couple post checkout, who said they had had an even worse experience than us. Happily, we have moved on to the next venue and normal South African hospitality has resumed. Happy days…."

"It was difficult to find guest house (it is not in Google maps and even in Trip.com maps it was unclear there is reception and there is apartment. But the connection by phone was easy and we received a support - key and explanation very fast after arriving to the accommodation site. We appreciate our thanks for the real help with forgotten baggage delivery to the our next stop. It was done in spite of weekend days very correctly and friendly. Thank you again! The location is out of road in wild area nearby lake with plenty of birds and plants. It was impressive sunset and sunrise. In house we found all that we was needed for cooking, comfortable living"
