"We were offered an upgrade to a suite at a much reduced rate and accepted the offer. The room was huge comfortable and well equipped for a pleasant stay. However the room and bathroom looked as if they hadn't been used for a while. In need of an update and tired it also could have been cleaner. A bit disappointing. On saying that the rest of the hotel was very clean, comfortable and welcoming. Staff were all helpful and friendly, and attentive. The food was excellent and the menus had a great selection to choose from. I would definitely visit again, but as the standard rooms are more modern and comfortable I would ask to view any room before agreeing to any update"

"Hotels was great service was fab and food in restaurant great. Only thing missing is a jacuzzi in the spa. Our trip was spoilt by the reception charging us twice for our accommodation. Already paid via trip.com and then got home to discover the hotel had also charged directly. Despite informing Hotel of this error on day of departure, a week later and multiple tel call we still haven’t the money returned to our account. As a result we will not be returning as very poor post trip customer care!"

"This hotel is an absolute gem. The staff are all very friendly, professional and courteous. The hotel is beautiful inside and has a charm that exudes character. All the communal rooms are spacious, homely and elegant. Most with a roaring fire. I wish I'd stayed for dinner, if the breakfast was anything to go by. Lovely quality , good portions and again served with a genuine smile. Victoria the general manager was very helpful with all aspects of the visit and went above the call of duty, even offering a lift to the end of the drive to catch a bus. Would highly recommend this hotel and hope to visit again soon."

"Nice enough hotel good large clean room and bathroom. We didn't eat in the evening but did have an excellant breakfast. A couple of people we were talking to said their breakfast was slow service so we expected that but everything was great. Slight issue was slowish bar service as only one person working Played golf on a lovely course which is quite challenging but very enjoyable. Looking forward to heading there again later in the year"

"A perfect 24 hours in Cringletie. This hotel does everything right. The Sunday lunch was an example of why you should keep the menu small and simple...get a few dishes and do them justice. Every corner of this hotel has a lovely view and little personal touches eg a card from the owner make it feel like service from a bygone age. To top it all we were upgraded for our anniversary! If you haven't been here before and you value old fashioned personal service and excellent food get yourself booked in."
