Cassia Hill Resort

Cassia Hill Resort

📍 68 George Price Hwy, San Ignacio
★★★ 8.7 (78 reviews)

"Amazing location and room, but couldn’t really get service from the person at the front desk nor the one security guy on site who also functioned as the repair guy. We didn’t have lights to our shower area, side table, or front porch, and it was pitch black, but lighting couldn’t be remedied. It’s too bad we didn’t have more time to enjoy the location in the daylight."

Pine Ridge Lodge

Pine Ridge Lodge

📍 Mountain Pine Ridge Forest, San Ignacio
★★ 9.8 (60 reviews)

"This Lodge outside San Ignacio and close to the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve is managed in a very committed way by Neil and his style also affects the staff like Marcia in the service or the drivers George and Nadir. There is a very personal touch to it, where guests are greeted by name, and where one tries to do the best for any personal wishes. The location is ideal for outdoor activities, which can get organized through the accommodation. Thus we visited Caracol on our own with a driver from the Lodge or took together with other guests a tour to Xunantunich and Cahal Pech Maya ruins. Before arrival Neil offered us for our transfer from the airport to the Lodge a stop for free at the very worthwhile Belize Zoo with local animals in very natural surroundings. Our traditionally decorated room was quite basic with no outdoor seating and no WiFi, with no bed lamps and just one socket, so we used it mainly for sleeping and a shower. But one can take a nice walk on the grounds to a small river and waterfall. It can be that sometimes traffic noice is heard from the nearby road, especially with big vehicles used for the works on the road to Caracol. A place to be is the quite big hall (with WiFi), where on one side reception is located and where breakfast and dinner is served. The food was a highlight here, a mixture of Belizean and English specialities, mostly prepared by Neil himself, who cannot deny his background. So besides Garnaches or Fry Jack for breakfast or Bollos and Tamales on Banana Leaf as starters for dinner we also had Yorkshire Pudding, Roast Beef and Mashed Potatoes. My wife and me left this place with very fond memories."

Crystal Paradise Resort

Crystal Paradise Resort

📍 Cristo Rey Village, San Ignacio
★★★ 9.6 (63 reviews)

"We had a great experience here. The Tut family provided fantastic lodging in the village of Cristo Rey and helped me to arrange and provided transportation for other day trips. We enjoyed home-cooked breakfasts and dinners at the lodge. In quiet moments, we enjoyed sitting on the spacious deck to bird watch. We were able to walk down to the river to cool off and into the village for smaller expeditions. Everything was smooth and perfect - everything I hoped for out of the trip!"

Maya Bella Downtown Hotel

Maya Bella Downtown Hotel

📍 36 Burns Avenue, San Ignacio
★★ 8.9 (102 reviews)

"A pleasant hotel located in the center of San Ignacio, close to the bus stop and several restaurants. The balcony with the pool is a lovely place to spend the late afternoon. Although breakfast isn't included, they offer black coffee with bananas, which is a nice touch for those leaving very early for excursions."

"A simple room, but clean. Fortunately, I was allowed into the room earlier upon check-in. Friendly staff. The Wi-Fi is poor, though."

Pine Ridge Lodge ★★
"5/5. A perfect quiet and peaceful hideaway in the Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve. The general manager Benoni is top notch. He helped plan our trip prior to arrival. He arranged tours to ATM cave (small group of 5) Tikal (private tour) and Caracol (private) at reasonable prices. He also arranged for transport to and from the airport with a stop at the Belize zoo. The cooks were also excellent. We had delicious home cooked food daily. The rooms were very clean and decorated simply but had Mayan aesthetic. The grounds are lovely with a few dogs and chickens, turkey and guinea fowl running around. There is a nearby hike to some waterfalls. The property is being upgraded in 2025 to add a pool and palapas by the river and a full bar and restaurant. WiFi is only available in the lodge now but will also be upgraded to all the rooms. We didn’t have a car but it was fine. If you want to explore the area on your own then rent a car. Really enjoyed our time here as a family."

"A basic hotel. Unfortunately, the receptionist had absolutely no information to offer. She couldn't tell me about transfers to Guatemala (which are usually standard here) or what tours are available. She wasn't really helpful. Otherwise, the hotel is a bit noisy."

Rolson Hotel ★★
"We stayed at the Rolson for 3 nights in early January and had 3 rooms: all doubles. The best part of this hotel is by far the staff! Everyone was so friendly! Even late at night when one of our party locked themselves out of their room - we had to call the hotel manager to let us in. He came immediately to assist with a smile on his face (I would have been surly! haha). The front desk agent (and I'm so sorry I never got her name, but she is from Curacao) was so sweet and chatty. You can tell that this is a family run establishment that treats guests like family too! We did have a rental car but ended up eating at the hotel (food was delicious) or nearby restaurants (Sanny's, Jalepenos) so we had no problems with the distance to town. The only minor inconvenience was that the hot water was a little tricky, though I'm guessing that is an infrastructure issue because it was the same at the other hotel we stayed at in Belize."

D's Inn ★★
"Great place close to the center. Easy 5 min walk to the market or the bus station The AC was great and the room was clean. Staff was really friendly and helped us to get a cheap taxi to the border Only downside is the barthroom. The wall doesnt go all the way to the ceiling and you can hear anything from the bed, but we can live with that. Recommended for sure."
