"Fantastic location with a great sea view. Some compromises in other aspects, especially the breakfast. It was good that we could order one item from the menu, but the eggs benedict was average."

Treloyhan Manor

"We had a really great stay at the hotel. The staff were very accommodating, and I loved the complimentary breakfast items (milk, bread, jam etc) provided in the room. We had a meal at the hotels restaurant and that was lovely and it was BYOB. They do not have aircon, however did provide us with a fan for the room. We will be back."

The Badger Inn

The Badger Inn

📍 The Badger Inn, Fore Street, Lelant, St Ives
★★ 7.6 (38 reviews)

"Omg, terrible food, inedible at first. This got one star based on the staff being friendly. The food was cold so they offered to reheat it. I told the staff to check how cold it was so the chef touched the vegetables with the back of his hand, wearing no gloves and then proceeded to stir the vegetables and said the one veg was warm, he tested the warmest area, at the bottom of the bain marie. The chef shouted to the kitchen staff "to make sure when they bring out the food, that its piping hot". We paid to have a meal out, a treat in this economic climate i must add, which was cold and in edible in the first place, for it then to be nuked in a microwave, killing any nutritional value. Then I asked for a fresh Yorkshire pudding because it was rock hard from being reheated in the microwave, so the chef got a sideplate, picked up a Yorkshire pudding with his hands and passed it to me on a plate. Health and safety alert!! No gloves, no temperature probe to check food temperature. Other diners next to us, said there food was cold however, "they were that hungry they just ate it". Im sorry Badger inn it is not good enough. I mean the staff were nice, toilets were bearable, the soap in the ladies is in a plastic tub, again health and safety. It's disgusting, do you not care Badger Inn? A soap dispenser is a couple of pounds. Then when you go to pay you are asked if you want to pay a tip, minimum £3. NO BUT I WILL GIVE YOU A TIP, BADGER INN, PROVIDE BETTER FOOD, AND FOLLOW HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS. I actually think the staff were offended I had the audacity to complain. On a positive note if the food had of been edible, then the choice of vegetables were good, but there was no mash potato, just suede mash. I personally don't recommend the venue, but they did seem to offer quiz, nights and various other events. I do not even think they are bothered what reviews they get anyway."

Beechwood House

Beechwood House

"I’ve just returned from a lovely few days spent at Beechwood House. I stayed in the single room which was comfortable and had a sea view. The Hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Good WiFi in the room. Very convenient for Carbis Bay beach and buses into St Ives and Penzance. I would definitely stay again."

The breakfast was delicious and had a great variety of options. While it's not right in the center of town, the bus stop is just a few minutes away, making it very convenient to get around."

Tregenna Castle Resort ★★★
"We had 2 nights here, 11-13 July. We arrived late, between 10-11pm, and the counter staff was very friendly n helpful. We did not manage to get dinner due to train delays but the front staff was kind to inform us that we could purchase some cold sandwiches and he would make sandwiches for us. 😊 The room price includes breakfast for which we were glad. We enjoyed the breakfast thoroughly. The views from the hotel overlooking the St Ives beach is truly amazing. The hotel grounds were immaculately maintained. You must walk through their walled garden … it is well landscaped and very beautiful. It felt like walking in some professionally well curated botanical garden. 👍🏼"

"We went for dinner at The Manor Grill as a group of 8 people (4 adults and 4 children). The menu was great and suited everyone with some tailored fish dishes. The portions are very generous with international flavors; The lamb was excellent, sardines a real treat, the steak was delicious and tender and the children’s meals suited each age. The gardens were an ideal setting to enjoy a great meal."

"Called in for lunch on the way back from St Ives. Chose ham egg and chips £12.50 The ham was fabulous tasting off the bone ham, and the eggs were fresh and perfectly cooked, which is an easy task to mess up. However the meal was let down by floppy greasy French Fries which were very unappetising. We were asked if everything was ok, and we said lovely apart from the chips! We were offered another portion, which was declined. The bar maid / waitress was perfectly pleasant but a bit uninterested when we advised her of the issue. The pub was very clean and well kept. In my eyes having run a bandb and cafe, If you advertise chips serve chips! If you’re going to serve French fries advise the customer and get them cooked properly. "

"Pleasant. Clean and comfortable. Great location. Bit disappointed that the B in B&B has disappeared. Although a few continental items are provided in the room, it isn't quite the same as a hot, waited-on, sit down morning meal. We don't know why this isn't provided anymore, but we'd be happy to pay a little extra for it."

"EXQUISITE in every detail! Ollie and Angela have created an oasis of wellbeing and peacefulness. Ollie is an incredible chef; I’m still dreaming about the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with blueberries and flowers! The staff were lovely and just as committed to detail and wellbeing. When you visit St. Ives, Trevose Harbour House is THE place to stay."
