"We had a very pleasant stay at Artemis Apartments. The location is wonderful - just a short walk to the beach, and many shops and restaurants nearby. We loved how close everything was, yet the place feels quiet and peaceful. The apartment itself was clean, comfortable and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful (many thanks to Nikos) -always ready to assist with anything we needed. Breakfast was good, though fairly simple and similar from day to day. But I suspect this is because it’s off-season. Some things stood out: the WiFi worked well most of the time, the pool area is lovely and well-maintained, and the value for money is excellent."

"My daughter and. I spent 9 nights here on allinclusive the positives first very clean hotel,that’s it negatives the food is absolutely awful, such cheap food the fruit was mouldy in the basket, I have decaff coffee and tea they do no provide this but you can have a decaff coffee if you pay I have never come across the meanness and such poor quality just looking at it made us feel ill we ate out a lot of the time . This is advertised as a 4 star some of the staff were really really rude and as two women on are own it was quite intimidating .The drinks were so limited and such poor quality if you pay they make really nice drink if not do not make any effort to make you dink look nice .the outside of the hotel looks like a war zone on a very very busy main Road the beach across the Road has broken sunbeds rumble and lots of run down bars and rubbish on it we would not recommend this hotel to our worse enemies"

"The staff were very helpful; we stayed 3 nights in April – too cold for the pool and sea. The "center" – with several restaurants and supermarkets – is just a few minutes away, so it served more as a base for excursions. An indoor pool is currently being built in the spa area; if we're allowed to use it, it would be great for the off-season. Breakfast was excellent, and parking is available."

"The facilities are a bit old, the dinner is very good, the beach water is very clear, but it is not the hotel's private beach, you need to cross a road. Crossing the road is a bit dangerous, and a little honey was given when leaving the hotel, which is very good!"

"We booked a 5-night stay but left after one night due to the lack of air conditioning and mosquito nets/screens in the bedroom. We had to sleep with the windows closed and the bedroom door open to get cool air from the unit installed in the kitchen. The hotel is rated 2 stars, and the manager deemed one air conditioning unit sufficient for a two-room apartment. We still had to pay for two nights due to the contract cancellation terms. In August, a partially air-conditioned apartment is quite inconvenient, and leaving immediately does not constitute a violation of the contract from the customer's end. This reflects poor service delivery from the hotel owner. I would not recommend this hotel to those who cannot tolerate the heat."

"I was allocated Creta Palm as a replacement for my selected hotel, which was unable to accommodate me. I was unsure what to expect, but was pleased. The hotel is friendly, with helpful reception staff, available 24 hours (always reassuring for a solo traveller). The main hotel has a lovely pool (too cold to use on this visit), and a small variety area, with a very jovial barman, who quickly learned names and drink choices! I was concerned the hotel would be too noisy for me. However, my room was in the annex across the road (a busy road at times, but there is a direct footbridge), and once in my room, all I could hear was the crash of waves on the beach! The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. I did get bitten by mosquitoes on the first night - do come prepared! Breakfast had a good choice, and plenty. I recommend the yoghurt! Creta Palm is a good base for exploring the Chania area. There are public buses running along the coast (sometimes can be unreliable), and the city is walkable (about 90 minutes). Can also recommend a trip to Imbros Gorge. If I visited again, I would definitely hire a car so I could see more of Crete."

"Just returned from 11 days at Melina's and it was fabulous. The hosts are very welcoming, giving us drinks on the first night when arriving. They also invited us to sit with them the next night and have drinks and a snack. Very helpful too printing us off bus timetables. The apartment was lovely and clean with comfortable beds and a wonderful view of the sea. Stalos is a lovely resort with great beaches and restaurants. Well worth a stay here!"

"Fabulous studio apartments with amazing vista, sunsets, and swimming pool. The ground floor studio we had access easy out to the pool. The studio was modern, scrupulous, clean, spacious, and comfortable beds. The studio was kitted out with everything, except a toaster. You can order breakfast, but we never did. Maria and her family were always on hand. The supermarkets, beach, and restaurants are a 15-minute walk downhill, local food was amazing, and never had a bad meal. There are a few different sandy beaches/bays, sunbed ranged from €10-15 It was easy to jump on a bus to Chania €2 each, bus are every 20 mins. There is a happy train that goes to different areas of Stalos. "
