"The inn boasts an excellent location, with a clear view of the Great Wall and its battlements right from our window. The owner was incredibly warm and attentive, even giving us a complimentary room upgrade. The food was organic, healthy, delicious, and offered great value for money. What's even more remarkable is that the innkeeper, Mr. Zhou Wanping, is a guardian of the Great Wall and a renowned photographer with the photography association. We actually met him inside the Great Wall battlements, and he was very humble. When we left, the proprietress walked us to the door, promising to see us again in autumn."

"Love their home cooked dishes! We rather go back to hotel for meal after Gubei water town. The couple bosses were so sweet to let us indicate spiciness and accommodate our minor diet restriction. They dun have noodles but they used alternative ingredients to make some gourd dish that tasted close to noodles. The rooms were big, in SG standard, one bed was queen size and the other was super single. Their bathroom was newly renovated and love their heater installed at shower cubicle, making it more comfortable to shower in cold weather. The couple bosses provided great tips on local transport to help us get to/fro Jinshanling for sunset and sunrise opportunities. They are situated around 5min drive from Jinshanling ticketing. Love the room doorstep views overlooking the geese and house dog. We will choose this hotel next time!"

"We started our Great Wall walk at the north gate in gubeikou. This guest house was very convenient for that. Gubeikou is a lovely village with a shop and a few restaurants. The owners met us from the taxi and took us to our room. Room very clean and warm. We were hungry and they made us homemade dumplings, very tasty. Nice shower. Kept our bags while we walked the wall to jingshaling and returned the next day to get train back to Beijing"

"The room is in line with the price, some simple but very clean. The boss and the waiter are very warm and the service is in place. The dishes are also delicious and the children like it very much. The only thing that makes people uncomfortable is that they didn't say that they would charge when they helped send the ticket gate. I heard the proprietress say that after breakfast, I helped send the ticket gate of the Great Wall. After climbing the Great Wall, I asked me to call again. They came to pick it up. If they didn't mention how much money, they defaulted to the free service. As a result, at checkout, each person was 10 yuan a way, and we received 80 yuan for a big and three small back and forth. "The room was very clean, and the hot water and air conditioning worked well. It's located a few hundred meters from the middle gate of Jinshanling, just a few minutes' walk from the scenic area. You can buy a second-entry ticket at the entrance. Arrive in the evening to watch the sunset and watch the sunrise in the morning. Dinner can be ordered at the guesthouse after you come down the mountain; the owner's home-style dishes are quite good. Breakfast is also available. "We hiked the Great Wall of China from Gubeikou to Jinshanling and chose this hotel to rest after the day. The accommodation is ideally located, right next to the entrance gate to the Wall. The host was very welcoming, and the room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. All the beautiful photos you see of his establishment were taken by the host himself! Since we were there during the off-season and most shops were closed, the host offered to cook dinner and breakfast for us. He is a delicious cook. He also offers taxi services and was able to take us to Gubeikou train station the next morning for our return trip to Beijing. We are extremely grateful for this wonderful stay in Jinshanling and would gladly return!"

"We stayed one night at Jinshanling Hanting B&B, and the location couldn’t be better—just a short walk from the Great Wall. It’s the perfect spot to catch both sunrise and sunset; the wall opened at 5 a.m. when we visited in early November. Breakfast was included, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We’d definitely recommend staying overnight for the better light and calmer atmosphere instead of doing a day trip. There’s also a great café nearby. To find the place: walk to the entrance gate, turn right, and it’s on the right side after about 30–50 meters."

"I have known the owner of this restaurant for many years. When I come to Jinshanling Great Wall, I always go to the Cui Family Courtyard for lunch. The proprietress Xiaoli is quick at work and the food is delicious. The whole family is very enthusiastic. This is the first time to stay at his house. The room is clean and comfortable. Not on the roadside, very quiet at night. It’s a great choice to watch the sunrise and sunset at Jinshanling Great Wall. The boss Er Ming is a photography enthusiast and a big anchor, and he can accompany him to climb the Great Wall."
