"The place was very clean , I called the hotel informing we will check in late and they check in was quick , the room was spacious and all basic necessities provided . The breakfast also had a variety and the staff was kind to provide a takeaway breakfast when we were leaving . The hotel staff were kind and helpful too overall will recommend this."

"The room was a bit small, and the cleanliness was okay, but there were some marks on the sheets. They might have been clean marks, but it still bothered me a bit. I requested a room near the elevator, and it was literally right next to it, haha! The hotel is actually quite small, so everything is close by anyway. The service was excellent. My English isn't great, but the front desk lady and guy were both incredibly patient. The lady even used a translation app to tell me what she wanted to say. In the afternoon, I wanted to visit the museum, but my room wasn't ready yet. The lady proactively offered to store my luggage so I could go to the museum first and check in later. When I did check in, she also helped me with my luggage. Their attitude was very friendly throughout. The guy at the restaurant was also super friendly; he recommended the hot chocolate, which was indeed delicious and one of the few things I can praise about an English breakfast. He also noticed I was Chinese and proactively said ”Nihao” and ”Xie Xie,” which was very kind."

"Hampton by Hilton, Glasgow Central is located on West Campbell Street and this truly is right in the heart of the city centre! Located just around the corner from the bustling shopping street of Sauchiehall Street, you’ve got everything you need at your disposal within walking distance of this hotel! Even Glasgow’s Central station is just a short 10 minute walk away - ideal if you’re coming in from another such as Liverpool like I was! A double room in this hotel is a fair size. To maximise on the space, Hampton by Hilton have removed wardrobes and cupboards and have replaced them with walk-in spaces. It works - the L shaped room can feel a little cosy at first, but once you’ve passed through the corridor, the main area where the bed and TV is feels quite spacious. The breakfast provided - which is free for all guests - is to a great standard. Make sure you try out the fresh waffles which come as standard in Hampton by Hilton hotels. The breakfast area isn’t huge though, so if you come around 8.30/9am, space might be limited! There’s also a fitness suite in the hotel which has a good range of equipment available. No windows in there though! Some areas for improvement - the room could do with a bit of refurbishment as the furniture is looking quite tired in parts and there are a lot of scratches and dirty marks on the walls. The room is very functional rather than a luxurious stay. Having said that, Hampton by Hilton is not marketing itself as a luxury brand. It’s firmly in the budget hotel bracket, probably at a similar standard to Premier Inn - which certainly isn’t a bad thing! Another thing to note - if you stay here during the weekend, it could be noisy. There are three nightclubs right near the hotel and on a Saturday night, the noise didn’t stop until 2.30am and this meant we didn’t get much sleep one night. However, the staff were very helpful when we flagged it with them the next morning and gave a credit for a free night’s stay at any Hampton by Hilton! All in all, this hotel is a good base to stay whilst exploring Glasgow. It’s functional, it does the job and you’re going to be well fed during breakfast. True, there are areas for improvement, but this shouldn’t impact your overall experience too much!"

"My stay with the ibis hotel was somewhat mixed with both positive and negative. On a positive, the accessible room that I had booked was of a good size and the main bedroom area was clean. The staff on arrival were helpful and provided me with all necessary information upon check in. Sadly, I was disappointed when ordering from the hotel resturant. My son wanted a pizza and the menu provided a list of three types. When ordering, I was told that there was only one type which wasn’t listed on the menu. I found the food to be of substandard which is disappointing given the price. Equally on check out, I advised that the bathroom had a build up of dirt and hair around the shower tray. I was told “apologises, this is a housekeeping issue”. I voiced my disappointment regarding the food to just be told “sorry”. Lastly I expressed my disappointment that I was charged £12.99 per person for a breakfast buffet. I felt this was a bit steep considering my under 5 ate half a croissant. The front desk only advised that usually they did not charge for under 5’s and would need to take this up with the app I booked to is stay through. No solution or refund were offered."

"Great location close to restaurants, cafes, convenience stores, museums and galleries, buses, Kelvingrove Park. Room spotless, bed comfortable, good shower, quiet room, kettle. No lift but stairs not difficult for me. Efficient and friendly Reception willing to help and advise. Bright and spacious Reception seating area. Did not try the breakfast. Airport and city centre bus stops nearby."

"Traveled from Edinburgh to Glasgow by car and chose this chain hotel based on many positive reviews. It was a short walk from the station. The environment, cleanliness, service – everything was excellent. Definitely worth a good review."

"The location is super convenient, close to two train stations. Central Station is less than a 10-minute walk, and Queen Street Station is a bit further, about a 12-minute walk. The subway entrance is just a few steps from the hotel. We booked a family room, and it was nice and quiet, perfect for a good rest. The windows don't open, but there's a note saying the air conditioning can keep fresh air circulating. We didn't have breakfast, so I can't comment on that. My only complaint is the bathroom sink. Whenever we used it, a foul smell would come up from the drain. Also, the water pressure was very low, and you couldn't adjust it – it was like a tiny little showerhead, which made washing your face a real chore. The hand soap dispenser was fixed to the wall and looked quite old; there were obvious stains on the bottle from not being cleaned. I have no idea how often the soap inside is changed; perhaps they just top it off when it looks low, leaving the old soap at the bottom. Despite the bathroom issue, I would still consider booking with this brand again in the future."

"Great location, it's not the fancy part of town but it is right in the action close to train stations and the metro. Free covered parking is phenomenal. The compromise is space. Rooms are incredibly small. The toilet is a closet, your knees will touch the door and your elbows the wall on either side. The shower opens directly into the room itself (not suitable for friends or family members sharing a twin room). There are two power sockets in the room, one directly in the ay no matter where you are going or what you need to do. If you've driving, it still might be worth it for the parking."
