"The best hotel in Florence I have ever stayed very well located and just 5 min walking from train station. Tiny swimming pool but very precious in the city center like this so I still tried the pool even it’s very cold in middle of sep, the front desk ( cute boy) really friendly to book the restaurant for my customers with patience and the lady in the breakfast room are super nice to me! Lunch in Asia fusion in Italian is also unexpected good!"

Disadvantages: The jacuzzi feels like it has not been used for a long time. When I opened it, all the dirty and sticky things in the pipes came out, which scared me to jump out of the bathtub."

"The location is excellent, and both the room and public areas were very clean. Soundproofing was average.
Most of the front desk staff were polite and helpful.
However, I had an unpleasant experience with one female front desk staff member that I found difficult to understand. During my stay, there was no bottled water in the mini bar in my room, so I called the front desk to request some. She insisted that the water was already in the mini bar. I repeatedly explained that there were only beverages and no water, yet she asked whether I had already drunk it.
I found this response unreasonable and unprofessional, and it showed a lack of basic respect. I hope the hotel will take this feedback seriously and improve staff communication and service quality."

"The hotel is in the perfect location, right on the Arno. I scored a room with a view of the river, with the Ponte Vecchio bridge to the right and Ponte Santa Trinità to the left. I could walk to all the museums and the Duomo and the train station. The breakfast buffet is pretty decent and the coffee strong. This was my first visit to Florence, and it was marvelous! I'll be back."

"We initially booked this hotel for its sound system, and overall it was very good. It's very close to the station, about a 2-minute walk, and a 10-minute drive from the train station. The soundproofing is excellent, and the room is very spacious. They even let us check in early when we arrived at the hotel. However, there was no kettle or refrigerator, and the TV didn't work—there was no signal at all. The facilities were slightly lacking."

"Very satisfactory hotel, the room is large, the double bed is very comfortable, two children each have a bed. The jacuzzi and shower are large. The minibar is free of charge for pure water, sparkling water, sparkling wine, red wine, biscuits and chocolate. The location is right next to the Duomo, and all the attractions are within walking distance. The service is warm, the English is very good, and the breakfast is very rich. Recommended."

"Me and my partner stayed 3 nights in the hotel, we had forgotten a travel adapter and the staff were so kind and gave one to us. The staff all went above and beyond especially the receptionist Valentina. Breakfast was great, just what you need to start the day. Bed was super comfortable and the shower was great. It was extremely convenient to walk from the hotel to everywhere in Florence, and right next to Santa Maria Novella station. We visited in December and were happy to have hearing in the room. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay."

"This hotel, recommended by a colleague, lived up to expectations. It's located just 8 minutes from the train station and in the heart of the city, surrounded by unique streets and delicious restaurants. The hotel's facade isn't large, but the front desk service was exceptional, and everyone was incredibly friendly. The rooms were relatively large, with ample bathrooms and separate dressing rooms. The rooms are designed in a light luxury style, and the price is reasonable. The breakfast was delicious, and the environment was pleasant, with a terrace. This hotel is highly recommended."

KKarenSo the bed was a little bit uncomfortable because I booked a single. I wanted to switch to a double and pay the extra €8 up charge but they didn't have any rooms available the two times that I wanted to switch. The single bed baby slightly uncomfortable and made my body sore. I think if I had a double I would have been perfectly fine but as things stand I kind of have a back ache. Breakfast was tasty staff was very polite and professional location was ideal. I won't book a single there again but I thought this room was lovely the amenities were lovely The service was lovely and I had a great time. I would without question stay there again but not in a single bed. The room was very small but well situated and I was happy with the staff the breakfast and everything else except for the bed which was uncomfortable to me. The one problem I will say with that room is that the lights are dim they were perhaps trying to economize and I bought a hundred watt light bulb and stuck it in the light socket because it was just too dark for me to see him for me to read and for me to function. They took it out and replaced it with a very low wattage bulb I think it's to try to save money to be honest. So buy light bulb 75 Watts and when you leave the room and they clean it take it out and put their crappy light bulb in. Also there's only a few television stations in English and they were all news. No movies. I still would stay there again I like the theme of the hotel I like the ambience and I like the staff.

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is excellent, just a 3-5 minute walk from Naples SMN train station. Right outside the hotel, to the right, there's a very popular pasta restaurant famous for its flaming cheese pasta. You usually have to queue, but tables turn over quite quickly. Across from the train station, there's also a steak restaurant, a local hotspot with several branches. Their T-bone steak is quite good. However, while some Chinese reviews recommended the braised tripe, I'd strongly advise against trying it unless you're specifically keen on a tomato-sauce-like flavor.
The hotel was very clean, the staff were very welcoming, and the service was excellent. The only deduction for facilities is due to the incredibly weak Wi-Fi signal in the room. The signal was even stronger in the bathroom than near the bed. Although staff came to check it, it seemed to be a coverage issue, possibly due to the room's location. My own 5G signal was also poor, making internet access extremely difficult.
The hotel's in-house restaurant claims to be Michelin-recognized. I had high expectations for its breakfast, but it was no different from other traditional Italian hotel breakfasts, and even felt a little basic. It fell far short of the breakfast we experienced at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Switzerland.

BBri BrackenWe really enjoyed our stay at The Social Hub Lavagnini. It’s clean, modern, and well-designed with a young, international vibe. We’re in our early 30s and felt like we fit right in. It’s ideal for younger travelers or anyone who prefers something more relaxed and social than a traditional hotel. An older couple might feel a little out of place, but that depends on what kind of atmosphere you’re after.
The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. Anytime we needed something, they handled it quickly and with a great attitude.
The common areas downstairs are a real highlight. There’s lots of space to work, hang out, or meet other travelers. It really does have a community feel, just like the reviews say.
There’s also a rooftop with a pool and bar. It’s nice to have, but to be honest, we didn’t find the bar particularly exciting. More of a perk than a destination.
It’s about a 25-minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio and the historic center, so you’ll be doing a bit of walking each day. Still, we thought the location was a good balance- close enough to everything, but far enough to be out of the thick of the crowds. For the price and the comfort of the hotel, it felt totally worth it.
Overall, a great spot if you’re looking for a clean, stylish, and social place to stay in Florence.

GGuest UserWe had a very solid stay at Hotel Grifone. A pretty large, comfortable, and clean room, with a balcony even. It was a bit of a hassle to get to our room (2 different elevators/staircases separated by a hallway), but on our first trip to the room, a staff member showed us the way, which was a nice touch. We also really appreciated the free flavored waters and teas/snacks/mimosas provided in the lobby - was a lovely surprise.
The hotel is in a very residential area, so it's pretty quiet at night. Does take around 25 minutes by bus to get there from the old town area, but they came relatively regularly (the signs posted on the stops were hit-or-miss on accuracy - the buses usually ran late).
Signora Helena on the breakfast team was truly the sweetest person we met during our entire 2 week trip around the country of Italy. She always greeted us with a smile and provided excellent service (remembering that we have yogurt every morning and bringing it to us without us asking by the third day of our stay, checked in about what coffee we wanted, and more!). We really loved her, and it made our mornings brighter to see her! The front desk staff were all excellent as well! Super professional and answered questions about Florence and the hotel with ease.

A well-stocked supermarket is conveniently located just 300 meters away, so we were able to buy steak and fish and cook them ourselves in the apartment. MMarcos 305Villa Tortorelli is a charming mix between a bed-and-breakfast and a hotel. My experience here was mostly positive, and while there were a few minor issues, I could tell that the staff genuinely does their best to run the villa as smoothly as possible.
Check-in & First Impressions
The first thing to note is that the villa is designed to work with automated check-in processes, which is great for most travelers. However, it could be better explained to future guests to avoid any confusion. Not everyone will have a working phone or data plan when they arrive in Italy, and it’s important for the villa to have a backup plan in case guests are unable to connect.
One simple suggestion would be to provide Wi-Fi access at the entrance of the villa and share the network name and password with guests before their arrival. This would make it easier for everyone to access the automated system without any issues.
Room & Comfort
I stayed in the Deluxe Suite, located on the first floor of a three-story villa, right next to the breakfast room. At first, I was concerned about noise, but the thick, heavy door completely blocked any sounds from the breakfast area. I never heard a thing in the morning.
The room has blackout curtains that provide great privacy and darkness, which I really appreciated. The bathroom was newly renovated with luxury finishes, including stone walls that give it a high-end feel. The room was clean, and the daily housekeeping service kept everything spotless, with fresh towels replaced daily.
One of the standout features of Villa Tortorelli is Karen, the person in charge of breakfast service and housekeeping. She is incredibly attentive and hardworking. She ensures that guests are well taken care of, and the breakfast is always well-prepared and served hot. Honestly, if they lose Karen, the villa would lose two stars in reviews. She is one of their greatest assets.
Breakfast Experience
The breakfast service was excellent. The food is prepared fresh every morning, and Karen makes sure there is always a variety of hot and cold options available. The breakfast room is cozy and inviting, with plenty of choices to start your day off right.
The Villa’s Atmosphere & Location
The villa is peaceful and surrounded by greenery, making it a relaxing place to stay. It’s also within walking distance of all the major tourist attractions in Florence, which makes it very convenient for exploring the city.
One Minor Issue
The only negative point during my stay was that the room felt quite cold when I first arrived. However, I reached out to the WhatsApp help service, and the heating system was adjusted quickly. Within a short time, the room felt much warmer and more comfortable.
Final Thoughts
Overall, Villa Tortorelli is a great option for those looking for a peaceful, well-located stay in Florence. The automated check-in system could use some improvement to avoid any potential issues for guests without a data plan, but aside from that, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfast is excellent, and the staff is very attentive.
Would I stay here again? Yes, especially for Karen’s service and the peaceful villa atmosphere!

AAnonymous UserPros: While we checking in there was someone carrying luggage for us to our room, there was a bottle of wine and two small bottle of water as complimentary for the first night.
Location is near to S.M. Novella Station and bus station so it's a perfect.
Breakfast was a 4 star standard and the taste more or less the same throughout my trips in 3 different hotels so no complain.
Cons: the shower pressure was really small and the heater inside the room was not working, after the first night experience we asked the front desk the next morning if they could check for us but ended up the shower pressure was really small, if there is a measurement lowest from 1 to highest 5, the pressure was definitely 1. So we aren't sure if they did send someone to check or not but one thing for sure they never update us after that and the heater switch remains the same as before I complained. It was really cold.
One evening around 7pm - 8pm as the hotel is actually located kinda like an alley and bit darker so a guy was suspiciously following us at our back and we have to almost run back to our hotel and while we ran he speed up as well so it's really scary better not to be alone walk back hotel.
Overall, location and breakfast are good. Service could be improved imo.

Their kindness and attention: exceptional, the fact that it has a swimming pool, even if it is small, to take a dip especially in summer, with the heat that it is, is an important point to take into account, and although I have read that they do not warn that it does not have an elevator and that in many cases, like us, they send you to the second floor with many steps, it is true, but they also take your suitcases up and down.
Without a doubt, I will stay at this hotel again on my next trip to Florence.

GGuest UserIt's in a great location, 7 minutes from the station and 10 minutes from the Ufutzii Museum, but it was hard to find because there was no hotel sign! I was standing 10 meters away, but I couldn't find it even after walking back and forth, so I asked a nearby hotel staff member, who pointed to a small door and said, ”It's right there.” I pressed the intercom, had it opened, went up to the third floor, and finally checked in. The room was cute, and when I told them I was leaving early in the morning, they were flexible and said, ”I can make breakfast at the breakfast shop and have it delivered the day before.” There was a shower, a refrigerator, and bottled water for the bed. If you leave the room and go up one level, there is a shared terrace with a view of the roofs of the ancient city. If the check-in goes smoothly, it's a great place to stay.
