"I originally planned to leave a 5-star review because the hotel itself has a very nice, cozy atmosphere. However, I ended up extremely disappointed due to something being stolen during housekeeping service. I travel frequently and stay in hotels often, so I’m usually very careful. This time, I didn’t bring many valuables with me, so I didn’t lock my suitcase when I went out. I had bought a few items from a drugstore and left them in the room. When I came back, one of the three packages was missing. I assume they didn’t take everything to avoid suspicion. I’m usually very cautious about housekeeping and potential loss of belongings, which is why I selected the “do not disturb / no cleaning” option. However, this hotel requires daily cleaning of the in-room hot spring bath. Since I booked a top-floor room with a private onsen, the front desk informed me that staff would still enter the room to clean it. I never expected that even opened, low-value cosmetics would be taken. The missing items were worth over $60. While it’s not a huge amount, it still feels very upsetting. The hotel itself is fine, but please be very careful with your belongings if you stay here. If you leave the room, make sure to take your valuables with you. The safe in the room is extremely small and cannot hold much. Overall, this experience was very disappointing."

When you stay at Seizan Yamato in Ito, you'll be near the beach, within a 15-minute drive of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park and Jogasaki Coast. This ryokan is 13.4 mi (21.6 km) from Atami Sun Beach and 0.7 mi (1.2 km) from Ito Onsen. Take advantage of recreation opportunities including hot springs and karaoke. Additional features at this ryokan include complimentary wireless internet access, concierge services, and a vending machine. Take advantage of the ryokan's room service (during limited hours). Featured amenities include complimentary wired internet access, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and a 24-hour front desk. A train station pick-up service is provided at no charge, and free self parking is available onsite. Make yourself at home in one of the 42 individually decorated guestrooms, featuring minibars and flat-screen televisions. Rooms have private lanais. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected. Private bathrooms with shower/tub combinations feature complimentary toiletries and bidets.

"We were very satisfied with both the room and the service. I highly recommend booking a package that includes both breakfast and dinner to experience the full Japanese service. For families or couples, after checking in, you can use the in-room phone (dial 8) to reserve a 50-minute private family bath session with the front desk. (You might be able to get the key a bit earlier depending on availability.) The cost is about 1680 JPY, which is quite reasonable. Prices for additional drinks, meals, and SPA services are also within a sensible range. One thing to note is that the hotel is located halfway up a hill, so I don't recommend walking there if you have large luggage. You can contact the hotel in advance to inquire about shuttle bus options or take a taxi from Ito Station. If you absolutely must walk, do not follow Google Maps' route from Minami-Ito Station, as this path involves climbing stairs and going over a hill."

"On the first day, we arrived at JR Ito Station after 6 PM. I tried calling the hotel but no one answered, so we had to take the Ito Kyuko Line. After getting off, we walked for over ten minutes with our luggage. Both of us are over seventy, and we were quite exhausted. I suggest extending the pick-up service until 8 PM. However, after checking in, we were very satisfied with all the services."

"It's about a ten-minute drive from Izu Kogen Station. The hotel is quite large, divided into several areas, ranging from luxury to economy. We booked a Japanese-style suite in the main building with a great view. The hotel has many free facilities that you can check on the map and experience one by one. The hot spring facility next door has an open-air bath. Soaking in the hot springs by the moonlit sea at night was very relaxing, with the constant sound of the waves. The breakfast included sashimi and various snacks, which was quite rich, but the selection was almost identical for two consecutive days. I'm giving three stars for service, specifically for the front desk. This hotel has quite a few Indian staff members. So why only three stars? The 5th, 6th, and 7th floors of the hotel all have scenic ocean view rooms, but Chinese guests are always assigned to the 5th floor or rooms near the elevator. Having stayed at many hotels, I can sense the subtle discrimination and differential treatment here. If the price booked through Ctrip is lower than what Japanese tourists pay, then disregard my comment. Finally, this hotel is very family-friendly, perfect for those with children. If you prefer quiet, a hotel of this size won't be quiet at all; you should choose a smaller onsen ryokan instead."

"If you're undecided about which hot spring inn to choose in Ito, I highly recommend this one. It's a lovely, cozy inn with excellent hot springs and delicious food. Both the large public bath and the private baths were incredibly relaxing. The water was wonderful, leaving my skin feeling smooth. The meals were also exquisitely seasoned and delicious. They even showed creativity by changing the sauce for the abalone. Since it was late March, the menu was spring-like, focusing on fresh shellfish (there was also steak). I don't like large portions of fatty food or excessive amounts of food, so the portion sizes were just right, and the menu balance was perfect. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The lobby had a well-selected collection of games for rent, which the children enjoyed. If I had to mention one minor concern, it would be: * The private dining room was very dark even in the morning (the atmosphere was wonderful for dinner, though). It would be nice if they could adjust the lighting in the mornings. Also, since the smoking area is right next to the inn's main entrance, the view and smell are bothersome. I think it would be better to have a separate smoking area. Overall, it was a very nice inn! Thank you very much."

"The hotel offers a free shuttle bus service to and from Izu Kogen. Shuttles to the station depart hourly starting at 9:30 AM, and pickups from the station start at 2:30 PM, also hourly. No reservations are needed, so just show up a bit early to catch it. The hotel's location is decent. It's not right on the beachfront, but it's situated on higher ground, offering views of the distant mountains and sea. However, visibility might be poor on cloudy days. The private indoor onsen is fantastic. They also provide free self-service washing machines and dryers, which is a huge plus for travelers needing to do laundry – super convenient! The breakfast buffet is pretty standard and doesn't change much. They start ushering guests out promptly at 9:30 AM. We had two different dinners; one was delicious, the other was just okay. In the afternoon, there are complimentary snacks, drinks, and even ice-cold beer, which was light, refreshing, and really hit the spot. Overall, it's a good accommodation option in the Izu Kogen area. BTW, if you have some extra time while waiting for your train at Izu Kogen Station, there's a Teddy Bear Factory nearby worth checking out, with lots of adorable bears. During our stay, there was also a Totoro exhibition with a workshop where you could make your own Totoro!"

"The newly opened hotel offers Chinese-speaking staff who are very friendly and welcoming! The environment is incredibly quiet! The rooms are cozy, and the beds are very comfortable! The bathrooms are clean and spacious, and the rooms offer views of the sea and mountains! The outdoor hot spring is especially wonderful—tranquil and peaceful. Soaking in the hot spring while listening to the birdsong is so relaxing! There's an Italian restaurant right next to the hotel, as well as some local cuisine! The food is excellent and highly recommended! There are also several other restaurants along the street, so dining should be very convenient! I booked a free pick-up and drop-off service from the station, and since it's not far, it arrived quickly! I wasn't late for my train/train! If I have the chance, I'll definitely come back again!"

Huazhu · Sakurazaka Onsen Hotel (Izu Kogen Omuroyama Branch) is located in Izu Kogen, Itō City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Nestled at the foot of Mount Omuro and facing the Izu coast, it offers a peaceful and tranquil environment. The hotel provides a pickup service from Izu Kogen Station. The guest rooms are warm, clean, and include Japanese-style tatami rooms as well as multi-guest suites suitable for families and groups. Away from the hustle and bustle, it is an ideal retreat for couples, families, and holidaymakers to fully enjoy the coastal scenery and a relaxing hot spring experience. Please note that the phone number provided for the hotel is the direct line to our Kyoto Service Center, not the hotel's front desk. When traveling to the hotel, simply search for the hotel's name in your preferred navigation app, and it will guide you to the correct location.

"The hotel's location is pretty good, about a 7-8 minute drive from Izu-Kogen Station, and it's a fairly typical villa-style hotel. It has three floors in total: two above ground and one below. It seems like it recently reopened after some partial adjustments and renovations. Overall, the cleanliness is good, though there were a few spots on the walls and floors that weren't perfectly clean. The drain in the women's hot spring bath wasn't draining very well, which I hope they can improve, but the hot spring water itself was excellent. In terms of service, I especially appreciate the hotel's shuttle service; it's really convenient for guests. The room has a kettle, which is very handy for Chinese guests, and some delicious tea. The service was very thoughtful. It would be even better if they could offer dining services in the future. Overall, I'm very satisfied."

Staff were wonderful. They held my luggage as I was very early for check-in and communicated via a handheld translator. The room was very nice and spacious with an absolutely gorgeous view to the city and surrounding areas. The private hot spring tubby on the deck was also wonderful as you do get the scene to the city and providing a wonderful ambiance. The food provided was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Now the caveat is the hotel is on a hill and unless you have transportation like a rental car or taxi, getting up there is a hike and more so with luggage. The staff also provided me with a shuttle to Itō station and some snacks to my next location. Oh and the wonderful picture they took and framed for me was also so thoughtful

This was my mother and daughters' first international trip together, and thanks to this place, we had such a happy and enjoyable time! 🥰 Everyone was incredibly friendly, and both the outdoor private onsen and indoor hot spring bath in our room were clean and beautiful! 👍 My mom had been wanting to go to a hot spring for years, and she was absolutely thrilled and very satisfied. 💜 Dinner and breakfast were also fantastic; you could really feel the effort put into each dish, and we got to try new ingredients, so it was all delicious! 😍 If you're driving from Shizuoka by rental car, I highly recommend taking the toll road! We took the free road and ended up learning to drive in Japan 'Spartan-style' on our first day, thanks to the massive forest roads and fog. Haha. We received the best hospitality during our stay, which helped my mother and daughters make truly wonderful memories. 🧡 Thank you so much. We'll definitely come back with the whole family next time! Please stay healthy always. 💖

Amazing ryokan! Located conveniently close to the railway station it blends into local woods with its many small villas and paths. The room was nice and had our own balcony looking out to the woods. There was no lack of amenities, futons were comfortable, AC worked just fine, and the wi-fi connection was probably the best we've encountered in Japan. We've tried 3 of 9 private baths and all of them were quite pleasant. However, the Kuromoji bath's door to the outdoor onsen didn't close all the way so it was chilly in the indoor bath, and the Hina bath had just 1 shower (we kind of expected at least 2). The food was excellent! We enjoyed all the courses of dinner and breakfast, but I must say the quantity of dinner dishes was just enough to be 80% full. If you are accustomed to Japanese portions, you might find this dinner too light. All in all, we enjoyed our stay in Hanafubuki ryokan and would love to come again!

I've always wanted to visit Izu, and after seeing recommendations online 🤔, I decided to check out this guesthouse. And it certainly didn't disappoint! 🫵 The owner is from Xi'an. After booking, you can message him on WeChat or email him to let him know your estimated arrival time in Izu. 👌 He'll personally pick you up from the station, and if you want to visit other attractions, he'll also drive you if he's available, saving you travel time. The guesthouse itself is beautiful 👏🏻, with a strong artistic vibe thanks to all the decorations. The proprietress is very talented 👍, and every corner of the room is stunningly decorated. I also have to praise the owner's cooking! 👍 If you're craving Xi'an specialties, you can ask the owner to cook for you. You can order à la carte or choose a guesthouse meal package (a heads-up: there are no restaurants or supermarkets nearby) 😜. We booked breakfast and dinner (for breakfast, you can choose between Chinese or Western) ☺, and the owner's noodles are absolutely amazing 😋. If you want to try Xi'an noodles, you can ask the owner to cook them for you (he mentioned they mostly serve noodles for lunch) 👌. I usually don't have much of an appetite for breakfast, so the owner specially made me a big bowl of Qishan Saozi noodles 🍜. Oh my god 😋, the sour and spicy flavors immediately opened up my appetite! Thank you to the incredible owner for saving my Chinese stomach! 🙏 Oh, and in the evenings, the owner will also take you to nearby hot springs ♨. If you want to experience authentic local hot springs, you should definitely try it! ♨ The owners are very easygoing, and after two days, it felt like we were old friends. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to Izu 🙂 and another taste of the owner's amazing Saozi noodles! 🍜

Izu Kogen Country Hotel | Exceeded expectations in every way, highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was extremely satisfied with my stay this time, full marks! 🍣 Dinner Buffet & Breakfast • The dinner featured a sashimi bar with incredibly fresh ingredients, refilled endlessly. The hot food and BBQ were also excellent. • Breakfast was equally diverse, offering both Japanese and Western options, all delicious. I was very satisfied with the meals on both days. ♨️ Public Bath • The hot spring bath area is very spacious, with both indoor and outdoor baths, making for a very relaxing soak. • A nice touch: The hair dryers are Refa! They have strong airflow and don't damage hair, which women will love. 🏨 Room • I stayed alone in a large suite-style room. It was spacious with a separate living area, and excellent natural light, far exceeding the average Japanese standard. 🛎 Service & Facilities • The front desk staff were friendly and efficient, and free coffee is available in the lobby. • There's a large swimming pool and an on-demand massage/SPA area. • They are also very pet-friendly, creating a warm atmosphere.

In fact, the hotel is very good, the environment is very good, the room is very beautiful, the toilet is super big, and it is very comfortable to live. But the disadvantage is that the traffic is too inconvenient, unless you drive by yourself... and dinner needs to be booked one day in advance, otherwise there is nothing to eat nearby.

Before we booked here I read some review from locals (Japanese) said that better to book somewhere else as this hotel is very pricey and offers low value. For example the dinner and breakfast are not impressive and not enough. Feels to me they use mostly cheaper ingredients for good presentation only. Worst point is they do not serve coffee/tea during breakfast and ask you to make yourself at the lobby with those premix which is a turn off. Especially after the high room price we paid. Like the other locals said : better to spend the money elsewhere

A good, but not new, hotel. It boasts a huge golf course, and indeed, the vast majority of guests are golfers who come for a weekend getaway to play without venturing down the mountain. If you have your own car, getting there is convenient. However, for exploring the region, the location isn't ideal; this hotel isn't really set up for that. You can, however, reach Ippeki Lake. I actually walked to the Komuroyama lift in 35 minutes through the camellia garden. From there, you can descend to Kawana Dolphin Beach, but the path isn't particularly convenient, and there are no direct buses. The closest bus stops to the hotel are in Yoshida, and from there, it's a 15-20 minute uphill walk along the road. You won't get lost, as there are plenty of signs. But it's not a straightforward or super easy route, especially if you have a lot of luggage. The rooms are quite standard. They have all the essentials: a kettle with green tea, a fridge, a TV, and various shampoos and gels in the bathroom (yes, there's a bathtub in the room). You can even see Mount Fuji from the window. The hotel itself has an interesting interior with cool details, such as an aesthetically pleasing lounge area before the dining room. The breakfast is good. Everything is tasty and varied; it’s definitely a step up from a basic economy hotel. There are fruits, vegetables, drinks, omelets, rice... and various meat and fish dishes, which I don't really pay attention to since I rarely eat them, but they were there. I didn't get to try the hot springs at the hotel, so I can't comment on them. Since I had already done a lot of hiking in the mountains over a few days, I requested a transfer for check-out. I was the only passenger! It took 7 minutes to Kawana Station, and a train to Ito/Atami was leaving 10 minutes later. Overall, it's an excellent hotel if you're not planning to spend a week traveling along the coast from here. For that purpose, it would be better to find something closer to the sea.

Dog-friendly, and that's probably the most important characteristic. I've seen reviews from dog owners who weren't happy with something here and there. Hello, you can relax with your pet for a very reasonable price! Although if you want royal service, then yes, you need a different hotel. It's about 10 times more expensive. This one is quite basic. The exterior is worse than the interior. The hotel is several buildings connected by various passages, and in some places the exterior walls look a bit rundown, to put it mildly. But inside, it's clearly been completely renovated. All the walls are covered in drawings of dogs, which I was constantly captivated by. There are various public areas where you can sit, read, walk, and play with your dogs. Of course, there are hot springs. Not up to the standard of elite onsen, but an excellent plunge pool (there's a mini pool with cold water), clean changing rooms with everything you need (bring your own towels from your room), and yukatas at reception. I only met a couple of women there, so I relaxed perfectly without any hassle. The room is larger than standard economy rooms, with space for a pet. And there are plenty of essentials like bowls, diapers, and brushes. There's a kitchenette in the room. A balcony. A standard bathroom in the room. The location is good if you're driving. Volcan Omuro is nearby (a 30-minute walk) and the capybara zoo, or you can walk down to the coast. There are buses, but they don't run very frequently and stop about a 7-10-minute walk from the hotel. There are few pedestrian areas here; you walk along the road. And the constant changes in elevation are quite a workout. I'm a fan of hiking and exercise, so I wasn't particularly bothered by these walks, and even then, walking alongside the road with cars wasn't exactly a joy. But if you have your own transportation, this is an ideal option. It's quiet and peaceful, with soft music playing in the hallways... Oh yes, the hotel itself has a small shop with some supplies (including pet supplies, including some wonderful dog figurines), but if you need more groceries, the nearest shops aren't too close: either on the way to Futo Station (near the park) or closer to IzuKogen Station. There's a stunning cherry blossom street on the way to the latter. The tax is paid upon check-out.
