"I originally planned to leave a 5-star review because the hotel itself has a very nice, cozy atmosphere. However, I ended up extremely disappointed due to something being stolen during housekeeping service. I travel frequently and stay in hotels often, so I’m usually very careful. This time, I didn’t bring many valuables with me, so I didn’t lock my suitcase when I went out. I had bought a few items from a drugstore and left them in the room. When I came back, one of the three packages was missing. I assume they didn’t take everything to avoid suspicion. I’m usually very cautious about housekeeping and potential loss of belongings, which is why I selected the “do not disturb / no cleaning” option. However, this hotel requires daily cleaning of the in-room hot spring bath. Since I booked a top-floor room with a private onsen, the front desk informed me that staff would still enter the room to clean it. I never expected that even opened, low-value cosmetics would be taken. The missing items were worth over $60. While it’s not a huge amount, it still feels very upsetting. The hotel itself is fine, but please be very careful with your belongings if you stay here. If you leave the room, make sure to take your valuables with you. The safe in the room is extremely small and cannot hold much. Overall, this experience was very disappointing."

"I've always wanted to visit Izu, and after seeing recommendations online 🤔, I decided to check out this guesthouse. And it certainly didn't disappoint! 🫵 The owner is from Xi'an. After booking, you can message him on WeChat or email him to let him know your estimated arrival time in Izu. 👌 He'll personally pick you up from the station, and if you want to visit other attractions, he'll also drive you if he's available, saving you travel time. The guesthouse itself is beautiful 👏🏻, with a strong artistic vibe thanks to all the decorations. The proprietress is very talented 👍, and every corner of the room is stunningly decorated. I also have to praise the owner's cooking! 👍 If you're craving Xi'an specialties, you can ask the owner to cook for you. You can order à la carte or choose a guesthouse meal package (a heads-up: there are no restaurants or supermarkets nearby) 😜. We booked breakfast and dinner (for breakfast, you can choose between Chinese or Western) ☺, and the owner's noodles are absolutely amazing 😋. If you want to try Xi'an noodles, you can ask the owner to cook them for you (he mentioned they mostly serve noodles for lunch) 👌. I usually don't have much of an appetite for breakfast, so the owner specially made me a big bowl of Qishan Saozi noodles 🍜. Oh my god 😋, the sour and spicy flavors immediately opened up my appetite! Thank you to the incredible owner for saving my Chinese stomach! 🙏 Oh, and in the evenings, the owner will also take you to nearby hot springs ♨. If you want to experience authentic local hot springs, you should definitely try it! ♨ The owners are very easygoing, and after two days, it felt like we were old friends. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to Izu 🙂 and another taste of the owner's amazing Saozi noodles! 🍜"

"This hotel is fantastic and fully equipped, truly a resort hotel, and many Japanese guests stay here! First, the hotel will send you an email in advance to confirm your dinner time. We booked dinner for two nights; it was a set menu, and the menu changed daily! The rooms are spacious, and there are many yukata choices! There are two hot springs ♨️, one in the main building and one in the south building. Currently, there are no private baths. We tried both. The main building's is smaller but fully equipped and less crowded. The south building isn't too far to walk to, just a few stairs! Both sides have restaurants. We stayed in the main building and dined there. Breakfast was indeed a bit of a hassle; you usually have to wait. You can go down early to make a reservation, and they'll call your room when it's ready! If you have time, you definitely need to try the hotel's facilities. It has three stops, including a free spa and an indoor water park. We went to the spa, and swimsuits were provided, which was very convenient! The internal shuttle runs until 11 PM, so you can go in the evening too! Be aware that the shuttle to the Kogen Station is the same as the internal shuttle, so make sure to ask when you get on! Both the hotel's dinner and breakfast are high-quality, and breakfast even includes sashimi rice! Plus, the hotel's souvenir shop is cheaper than the one at JR Station! I recommend having dinner at the hotel, as there's absolutely nothing around, no shops! But the hotel itself is so exciting, it's worth it even if you just stay and enjoy the hotel!"

"Take a taxi from the Ito JR taxi station to the ryokan, do not have to pay the fare, the hotel will handle, the drop-off staff will come to check-in a pair of your names, if correct will handle your fare for this journey. After getting off the bus, the staff pushed our luggage into the hotel and greeted us to check in. The person who explained the process and details to us checked in was a very beautiful staff who clearly explained the hotel facilities, meal times and places. After check in you can first go to the lobby location to get a yukata, in addition yukata and hotel clothes in the room plus slippers can be worn at will within the hotel premises. Once you get to the room, the door is very large, is super large, and there is a private bath can slowly soak, the hotel has a interesting thing is you can design your own slippers, because afraid of people to the public bath will forget their slippers, so there is a black marker for you to design slippers. After walking around the hotel premises, taking pictures, then back to the room to soak in the hot spring, at night to the restaurant to enjoy a delicious dinner, the service staff asked us to communicate in English or Japanese, we said English, he then tried to explain in English all the ingredients for dinner, how to eat and so on. Dinner was really full and satisfied, after dinner back to the room to rest, then made an appointment for a private bath, after the soak was very comfortable. It was a really comfortable rest that night, a really good night’s rest. Morning to the restaurant breakfast, another very satisfying meal, after the meal rest for a while and soak in the hot spring, then check out at 12:00, the hotel will ask you if you need a taxi to JR station, he will help you call a taxi, delivered to JR station is free. Overall, this hotel is very comfortable, quiet, 14:00 check in can stay until the next day at the latest 12:00 check out, can stay more time in the hotel to soak in the hot spring and rest, and the hotel provides skincare is very useful, and after the hot spring in the room like that Cider is particularly good to drink, really spent a very satisfying journey."

"On the first day, we arrived at JR Ito Station after 6 PM. I tried calling the hotel but no one answered, so we had to take the Ito Kyuko Line. After getting off, we walked for over ten minutes with our luggage. Both of us are over seventy, and we were quite exhausted. I suggest extending the pick-up service until 8 PM. However, after checking in, we were very satisfied with all the services."

"This ryokan is truly a gem. It offers complimentary car parking, and there’s also a public bathroom available. The staff are very nice and sweet, making the stay feel warm and welcoming. I highly recommend trying their breakfast and dinner—the meals are delicious and thoughtfully prepared. In the evening, guests can even enjoy complimentary ice cream, which is a lovely touch. Netflix is available for entertainment, and the facilities are very well maintained, giving excellent value for money. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to stay, and I will definitely go back again."

It feels more like a place where you can temporarily step away from your daily routine. Mornings are greeted with the cool mountain air and birdsong, while afternoons bring sunlight filtering through the trees and a slow passage of time. In spring, you can watch cherry blossoms drift in the breeze, and in summer, listen to cicadas echoing along the forest paths. Scattered along the way are charming shops, cafes, and gardens with a distinct Showa-era charm, flanked by quietly growing flowers and trees. People come here not for the sake of 'checking off a list,' but to briefly step away from the city's pace, put down their phones and work, and let time slow down amidst hot springs, nature, and tranquility. The charm of Izu Kogen isn't in its grandeur, but in its preservation of a sense of life that is increasingly rare today. It's perfect for zoning out, taking a leisurely stroll, reading, or soaking in the hot springs, and also ideal for spending a few quiet days with someone special. This is my most genuine feeling."

"Dear General Manager, I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the excellent service provided by your restaurant staff during my recent stay on 16-17 June 2026. I originally booked a room with breakfast and dinner through Trip.com, indicating 2 adults and 1 child (age 8). Although I noticed that your hotel website offers a kids' menu, the booking platform did not have an option to select it, and I wasn't aware of this at the time of booking. I therefore assumed that the hotel would automatically provide the kids' dinner menu for my daughter. However, when we arrived for dinner tonight, the staff informed me that we had been booked for three adult set meals, which came as quite a surprise. I immediately worried that my daughter would have nothing to eat and that we might have to go out to buy her dinner. Fortunately, your staff member, Mr. 坂田went above and beyond to communicate internally on our behalf. With his manager's approval, he was able to arrange the kids' menu for my daughter as a special accommodation. This truly saved our evening! I truly appreciate how professional, flexible, and helpful your team is. I fully understand that this was not the hotel's fault, yet your staff still went out of their way to resolve the issue and provide excellent service from the heart.
