"The room I was given was terrible, facing other guest rooms directly. If I opened the curtains, I'd be staring right into multiple other rooms, which was super awkward! And this is the first time I've ever stayed in a tatami room where I had to make my own bed! It's not my first time in a tatami room at a hot spring hotel, but this was a first. The outdoor onsen only had one pool, which was okay. The 24-hour supermarket next door was a plus, though."

"We were very satisfied with both the room and the service. I highly recommend booking a package that includes both breakfast and dinner to experience the full Japanese service. For families or couples, after checking in, you can use the in-room phone (dial 8) to reserve a 50-minute private family bath session with the front desk. (You might be able to get the key a bit earlier depending on availability.) The cost is about 1680 JPY, which is quite reasonable. Prices for additional drinks, meals, and SPA services are also within a sensible range. One thing to note is that the hotel is located halfway up a hill, so I don't recommend walking there if you have large luggage. You can contact the hotel in advance to inquire about shuttle bus options or take a taxi from Ito Station. If you absolutely must walk, do not follow Google Maps' route from Minami-Ito Station, as this path involves climbing stairs and going over a hill."

"The hotel is aged but the price was bargain when we booked. The rooms are very spacious but again the furnishings does shows history, it’s still clean nevertheless. The onsen is very nice and the golf course view is amazing, however we just have a quick sleepover so didn’t enjoy must of what the hotel has to offers. We choose here for the price value and proximity to the central part of Ito for restaurants and supermarket, close to the hill, zoo, and the coast"

The person who explained the process and details to us checked in was a very beautiful staff who clearly explained the hotel facilities, meal times and places. After check in you can first go to the lobby location to get a yukata, in addition yukata and hotel clothes in the room plus slippers can be worn at will within the hotel premises. Once you get to the room, the door is very large, is super large, and there is a private bath can slowly soak, the hotel has a interesting thing is you can design your own slippers, because afraid of people to the public bath will forget their slippers, so there is a black marker for you to design slippers. After walking around the hotel premises, taking pictures, then back to the room to soak in the hot spring, at night to the restaurant to enjoy a delicious dinner, the service staff asked us to communicate in English or Japanese, we said English, he then tried to explain in English all the ingredients for dinner, how to eat and so on. "I originally planned to leave a 5-star review because the hotel itself has a very nice, cozy atmosphere. However, I ended up extremely disappointed due to something being stolen during housekeeping service. I travel frequently and stay in hotels often, so I’m usually very careful. This time, I didn’t bring many valuables with me, so I didn’t lock my suitcase when I went out. I had bought a few items from a drugstore and left them in the room. When I came back, one of the three packages was missing. I assume they didn’t take everything to avoid suspicion. I’m usually very cautious about housekeeping and potential loss of belongings, which is why I selected the “do not disturb / no cleaning” option. However, this hotel requires daily cleaning of the in-room hot spring bath. Since I booked a top-floor room with a private onsen, the front desk informed me that staff would still enter the room to clean it. I never expected that even opened, low-value cosmetics would be taken. The missing items were worth over $60. While it’s not a huge amount, it still feels very upsetting. The hotel itself is fine, but please be very careful with your belongings if you stay here. If you leave the room, make sure to take your valuables with you. The safe in the room is extremely small and cannot hold much. Overall, this experience was very disappointing."

The area is quiet, with a convenience store and a grocery store nearby. However, unlike many hot spring hotels, they don't offer shuttle service to and from the station, so you'll need to take a taxi to get there and back."

In spring, you can watch cherry blossoms drift in the breeze, and in summer, listen to cicadas echoing along the forest paths. Scattered along the way are charming shops, cafes, and gardens with a distinct Showa-era charm, flanked by quietly growing flowers and trees. People come here not for the sake of 'checking off a list,' but to briefly step away from the city's pace, put down their phones and work, and let time slow down amidst hot springs, nature, and tranquility. The charm of Izu Kogen isn't in its grandeur, but in its preservation of a sense of life that is increasingly rare today. It's perfect for zoning out, taking a leisurely stroll, reading, or soaking in the hot springs, and also ideal for spending a few quiet days with someone special. This is my most genuine feeling."

"Overall, it's pretty good. I'd stay here again next time I visit. The hotel offers a shuttle service from Izu Kogen Station, but it's infrequent. To catch it: After exiting Izu Kogen Station, turn right and walk to the bus stop. The parking lot next to it is where you'll find the shuttle. Staff will confirm your reservation name, help with your luggage, and offer a refreshing cold towel – very thoughtful service. The hotel package included dinner, a late-night snack, and a buffet breakfast the next day. Dinner was very mediocre, I'd even say unappetizing. The pork was tough, the side dishes were cold, and the sashimi was overly chilled. The late-night snack was Dan Dan noodles. Since it was close to closing time, there were drips of soup all over the inside of the bowl, which looked a bit sloppy. Thankfully, the taste was quite good. Buffet breakfast was the most satisfying meal with a good variety. You can walk or take a taxi to Jogasaki Coast. If you're only going to Kadowaki Suspension Bridge, I recommend taking a taxi to a nearby parking lot, otherwise it's a 30-minute walk. A taxi to Mount Omuro costs over 2000 yen. To summarize: The toilet had a strange odor, the showerhead had low water pressure, and dinner wasn't good. Other than that, there weren't many downsides."
