"I was very satisfied with my stay here! The hotel's location is super convenient, right across from Kyoto Station, just a few minutes' walk away. It's incredibly easy to get to all the major attractions in Kyoto by JR, Shinkansen, subway, or bus, making it perfect for a Kyoto trip.
Next to the hotel is AEON Mall, which is very convenient for shopping, dining, and buying souvenirs, and it has long operating hours, so you can easily browse and shop even after returning in the evening.
The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and courteous. Both check-in and check-out were smooth. For independent travelers, the transportation and amenities here are excellent.
I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto, and I'll definitely consider staying here again on my next trip!"

"This was the best hotel of the three we stayed in on our trip to Japan.
The location was absolutely central to everything, and amenities were all close at hand. Close to Kyoto station meant that even when you were out all you had to do was finding a train or bus coming back to the station.
From the first view of the hotel inside we knew we were going to enjoy our stay.
The room blew us away when we opened the door, it was well laid out.
The service and food were exceptional, absolutely loved the ”Meat Theatre” this was an all you can eat and well worth the money. The staff were truly helpful at all times.
Exceptionally good value loved it and would recommend it to everyone we know that are going to Kyoto."

"For this price point, all I can say is it's an absolute steal! You can really trust big brands. I'm usually someone who goes from basic to luxurious when choosing hotels, and the day before arriving here, I picked a more budget-friendly option. But this 'budget' hotel was so good, I didn't want to leave! It felt small yet cozy. Plus, there's a bath, and coming back from a morning run to soak in the tub was just heavenly.
They even have a bar on the ground floor! Every day before heading out, I'd grab a lollipop or ice cream to kick off my city walk. My family loved it. The location is a bit further out, so walking can be tiring on your feet. After a morning run, we relied on taxis for getting around during the day. I couldn't quite figure out the subway; it seemed like the JR pass wasn't valid.
Next time I visit, I plan to stay for an extended period. There's really no need to spend thousands or tens of thousands to stay at those top-tier hotels. I haven't felt particularly pampered or that it was exceptionally good there. For instance, the Park Hyatt is so expensive, primarily for its location. Everything else was just so-so, and the restaurants were incredibly crowded with a strong greasy smell."

"Overall, it's clean and spacious. The garden view room, however, only faces an air shaft, so there's absolutely no difference whether you open the window or not 😂. "I had breakfast at the hotel for three days straight, and it was the exact same every morning – no changes. The overall taste was decent, though. The biggest plus is definitely the location, which is super convenient. However, I really wasn't a fan of the Japanese-style decor. My main complaint is that my window faced a wall, so I couldn't open the curtains to get any sunlight, which I really disliked. Also, the bathroom design was a bit odd; the toilet lid kept opening on its own. On the bright side, the hotel offers a lot of activities daily, which is a nice touch. Outside the hotel, you're right by the Kamo River, so you can enjoy a very pleasant stroll along the riverside."

"The first time I took my parents to Japan for a trip, I chose this homestay and I was very satisfied. The location is convenient, the room is very new, the facilities are complete, the space is spacious, the most important thing is that it is completely ”what you see is what you get”, which is consistent with the photo. There are also outdoor scenery and open-air bathtubs, which have a Kyoto atmosphere. The overall wooden furniture and warm colors make it very relaxing to live. The kitchen utensils are complete and we also cooked together. The landlord communicated meticulously, provided detailed check-in instructions and play suggestions, and was very friendly to tourists who came to Kyoto for the first time. Our family stayed for two nights, unanimously praised, and the price was very high!"

"During the autumn foliage season, hotels tend to be pricier, but this large room was incredibly comfortable. My parents, their little one, and grandma stayed here – three adults and a child – and it was spacious. The toilet and shower being separate was a huge plus for the family, no fighting over bathroom time! The bedding was also very comfortable. Downstairs, there's a free hot spring bath, and the gym is free to use. Our baby developed influenza and a fever right after arriving in Japan, but thankfully, there's an emergency clinic directly across the street from the hotel. We were able to get urgent care for the baby without waiting, and the doctor used a translation device throughout – it was a real lifesaver! There's a 'Life' supermarket about a five-minute walk away that has everything, especially fresh sashimi, bento boxes, salads, and fruits – so fresh! The hotel is right across the street from the train station. The front desk staff were exceptionally friendly. There's also a fantastic Italian restaurant and a wagyu beef restaurant within a few minutes' walk. You can even take a bus to see the autumn leaves at the temple for a cheap price. This hotel was so comfortable; we'll definitely stay here again!"

"Superb experience in Nohga. Everything here has been curated very carefully, you can tell the people or group behind this whole hotel concept really put in so much thought for their guests.
Absolutely loved my entire stay here. I eat breakfast at their bakery every morning. Love their customisable bagels, mortadella sandwich, salted bun and cinnamon mochi donut. Chocolate mochi donut was a little too sweet. Americano and matcha latte were great.
Thoroughly enjoyed their rooftop bar every night (opens till 12am). Awesome vibes, very romantic atmosphere. Staff are sweet, gives heat packs and blankets to keep us warm. Warm cocktails are a must during winters. You can order any random cocktails and they all taste so good.
The distance from the train station to this hotel is quite a distance but I think the overall experience you get in this hotel makes the walk a worthwhile one. Def recommending this hotel to my friends who wanna come to Kyoto."

GGuest UserMy dad took the kids here and raved about it! He said it was super clean, the garden design was beautiful, and the breakfast buffet was great. You have to change into slippers and socks when you enter, and they provide yukatas. You can even choose your own pillow! They have both public and private hot springs. We didn't have to wait long for the private one, and after your soak, you get free ice cream. They even offer complimentary noodles for a late-night snack. The location is really convenient too.

KKR MichaelIt is located right opposite Kyoto Station (closer to the Kintetsu Kyoto side). You can walk between the station and hotel within 5 minutes. It is very convenient.
Do note that the hotel is located on the south of the station (basically on the opposite side of Kyoto Tower) . So you need to exit through the Hachijo Exits and cross the road, instead of the more commonly used Central Exit.
The hotel room itself is not big, but sufficiently convenient, the charging point is right beside your bed.
There is a co-working space on the first floor, with charging ports and WiFi access. So it is a good spot if you need to carry out some short online meetings.

SStellaLouWe had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The room was well-furnished, modern and has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. We like that there is a communal bath in the hotel. The room feels cozy and has a spacious bathroom which was a pleasant addition. We will be recommending this hotel and will make a return in future! (P.S. There’s a curry rice shop 1-2mins walk away from the hotel towards Kyoto station, that is absolutely delicious and affordable and is on our mind till this day!)

LLize from South AfricaWe stayed at Hotel Gracery Kyoto for two nights and overall had a very comfortable stay. The hotel has two sections, and we stayed in the South building. The room was very clean, and the space was used efficiently, which is typical for Japan.
The bathroom layout was a bit unusual. The toilet and shower are separate, which is convenient, but the toilet cubicle itself is extremely small. The shower is positioned in an odd space between the bath and what seems to be the shower floor, and the shower head cannot be adjusted up or down. That said, the water pressure and temperature were excellent, which made up for the layout.
Bottled water was provided on the first day, which was appreciated. The TV, however, was very limited with only Japanese channels and no access to Netflix or other streaming services.
The location is excellent. The hotel is right by Nishiki Market and surrounded by shops and restaurants, with multiple subway lines nearby. There are also many fantastic local restaurants in the area, which we highly recommend, especially when the market gets overwhelmingly busy.
The hotel provides a wide range of amenities in the lobby, including face wash, toner, lotion, razors, combs and mouthwash. While convenient, the large amount of individually packaged items does not feel particularly environmentally friendly.
We checked out the breakfast one morning but decided not to purchase it as it was 2750 yen per person, and there are plenty of better and more affordable options nearby.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and we also appreciated that the hotel offers free umbrella use on rainy days, which was a thoughtful touch.
One downside was the room cleaning timing. We left early in the morning and only returned after 3pm, but the room was still being cleaned when we got back. We were asked to wait around 30 minutes, which was quite inconvenient after a long day when we wanted to rest, shower and freshen up before heading out again.
Overall, a clean and well-located hotel with a few minor design quirks and service timing issues, but still a very pleasant stay.

The overall ambiance is elegant and thoughtful, but I especially want to rave about the self-service drink machine in the lobby – it was such a delightful little bonus during my travels. The machine itself is sleek and blends perfectly with the hotel's style. The drink selection is incredibly diverse, from ice-cold sodas to warm beverages, and the cooling works really well. Coming back after a long day of sightseeing and grabbing a refreshing drink was incredibly therapeutic. Operating it was super easy with a quick QR code scan, fast recognition, and instant dispensing after payment. Being able to grab a drink 24/7 was a lifesaver; no more having to trek far just for a late-night beverage.

From the hotel, you can walk to Nijo Castle in about 10 minutes. There are many small convenience stores nearby (7-Eleven and the like), as well as two large supermarkets — Life is open until midnight, which is a huge plus. You can buy nice gifts for friends and family late in the evening without wasting daytime hours.
The transportation access is great too: within a few minutes' walk there's a subway station and a JR line (convenient for coming from the railway station), and right next to the hotel there's a bus stop. This is important because Kyoto's sights are scattered all over the city, and you often need to use public transport or taxis.
Speaking of taxis. Twice I asked the reception to call me a taxi, and both times the staff helped me — a huge thank you to them! It was especially important on the first day: thanks to a taxi, I made it to Kiyomizu-dera Temple in time and explored it without rushing.
Check-in was very quick, and the staff explained where everything was.
The room was quite spacious — or maybe it just felt that way. I comfortably unpacked my suitcase and took out everything I needed without feeling cramped. The room had all the essentials, and there were kettles near the elevator that you could take to your room if needed. I did, and had some tea before bed (on the first floor, you can grab a free tea bag if you don't have your own).
The air conditioner worked for both cooling and heating — which was very useful on some evenings. Honestly, I only used the hotel to sleep, and it was perfectly fine.
Every morning, breakfast is served on the first floor. To be honest, I expected something simple since the room rate was quite affordable. That's why the breakfast was such a pleasant surprise! My eyes wandered every morning at the variety of delicious food! A huge selection. Every day I had rice with various toppings, amazing salmon, cod, and various vegetables (the okra here was especially good).
There's a small smoking room on the first floor with good ventilation.
My overall impression of the hotel is extremely positive. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Kyoto.

Decent place to stay at location wise but very small space for a family (especially in the ”king deluxe room”).
Only had 2 towels too despite there being 4 of us.
