"The location is great, right next to the subway, making travel and sightseeing very convenient. It's easy to get anywhere. The hotel's cleanliness was acceptable, and the staff were very friendly. On the first day, the room we were assigned had a window facing a cemetery, which was quite depressing. We couldn't switch rooms that night and didn't sleep very well. The next day, after reporting the situation to the front desk, the staff were very cooperative and helped us change rooms smoothly. If you're sensitive about the view outside your window, I recommend telling the front desk in advance to avoid rooms facing this direction when you check in. Overall, it's a convenient place for travel and a good base to stay."

"Room was really comfortable! I wasn’t able to adjust the aircon temperature so it got pretty cold for me when sleeping. The toilet was Japanese style—separated from the shower stall and had a small sink to wash your hands. The POLA skincare amenities were a really nice touch!"

"I've stayed at this hotel twice now, and its location right inside Kyoto Station is incredibly convenient. You don't really hear any train noise either, which is great. The rooms and overall environment are excellent. My only minor complaint is that the front desk staff seemed a bit perfunctory."

"The Hotel SUI Kiyomizu Kyoto it's very conveniently situated in front of the Metro Station. It is also very conveniently situated on a bus stop, which makes it very easy and very convenient to get around town. It is also very close to the old temples area. The amenities we're very nice, and the hotel has activities throughout the day. There's a tea ceremony in the afternoon, followed by a free flow beer in the evening, which is ended with a karaoke session, and a free noodle soup at night."

"We wanted a hotel in Gion with a public bath/onsen and Kyoto Granbell fit the bill. Originally we booked a moderate twin 18m2 but I was worried it would be too small so we upgraded to the Japanese twin 22sq meters and it was exactly what we wanted. The room was spacious and felt very comfortable. We had enough room to spread out and it feel like we were on top of each other. The lobby area is great with free coffee and snacks & wifi. We didn’t do breakfast but it looked good. I used the onsen every day and it was great! Fully stocked with shampoo, lotion, q tips, cotton pads, water station. Small but functions and very beautiful. The location was the best! Two doors down from En en for great Gyoza, 5 min walk to Hiniku to come, around the block from Pizza Stada, and a couple blocks from the bus station & the Main Street in Gion. Staff were lovely & spoke pretty good English. Comparable to Coutryard Marriott. Highly recommend. Would stay again."

I was very happy with the room assignment; high floor with a great view, and even though it's street-facing, it wasn't noisy. The facilities were excellent. The area nearby is a well-established residential neighborhood, not overly touristy, which is perfect for experiencing local life."

My room was thoughtfully designed, making great use of the space while still feeling comfortable and relaxing. The bed was very comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful after a full day of exploring Kyoto. The location is excellent—just a short walk from Gojo Station, with convenience stores, cafés, and restaurants nearby. It made getting around Kyoto incredibly easy. What truly made my stay special was the kindness of the staff. To my surprise, they prepared a small birthday gift for me during my stay. I have no idea how they knew it was my birthday, but it was such a thoughtful gesture that genuinely touched my heart. It wasn’t about the gift itself—it was the care and effort behind it that made me feel so welcomed and appreciated. "The Urban Hotel is really good. There's one on Shijo and one on Gojo, and I've stayed at both. They're excellent. When I come to Kyoto, I usually choose this brand. They are very clean, and both locations have a large public bath, which I really love."
