"We stayed at the Shipley Ferry/I-81 Super 8. They have done a nice job on updating. A motel only gets 5 stars from us if it passes the white sock test. Walk around your room in white socks for 10/15 mins. If the socks are still white you got a clean room. I also liked that there was plenty of room to put the suitcases. No dressers(or bugs). Breakfast is very simple. The people were extra nice. We will stay there again for the race in the fall"

"We stayed at this Tru Hilton property on our way home from an East Coast beach trip, and it was an excellent experience. The hotel was very accommodating for us and our two dogs, which made traveling much easier. Our room was spotless, and everything throughout the property felt new, modern, and well maintained. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming from start to finish. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and pet-friendly place to stay."

"Stopped at this almost brand new Tru on the TN/VA state line overnight for a rest stop. Very nice property right off I-81, very clean, comfortable room, good breakfast. Caleb, at the front desk, gets an attaboy for juggling a hotel full of guests when their IT system went out right at crunch time. He walked people to their rooms and used a master key to get them in. Multiple food options are right down the road at The Pinnacle "new town center" shopping center complex. It is so new, our navigation software had a location on the other side of town for some reason. Don't get fooled. Small pet friendly with no fee.....ask don't assume. IYKYK."

"Location was a little hard to get to since there is no warning about the drive way. Get in and the parking lot is tiny and couldn't find a place to park for check in or check out. Room was WAY smaller than we thought and pictures shown! Was actually blown away by how small the room was! The bathroom was dirty, dead bugs on the floor around the tub and dirt everywhere. The bed was horrible! No box spring or support other than a metal frame that made sonic noise it kept us up most the night! The bedding was thin and we froze most the night, even if we turned the AC off we died from the heat! The sheets were nasty, covered in diet and hair! I don't know if it was from the housekeeping or just never got switched! Tv was ok but barely worked so watching anything was basically a joke and the water pressure was horrible! Speak of the bathroom, forgot to mention that black mildew on the walls and the rust and white crust formed on the shower, it made us panic! The room also had various bugs and spiders in the room and it made us super uneasy! Were were celebrating our anniversary and it was the worst experience! We didn't even bother with the breakfast because the juice machine was out and the fruit and cereal looked questionable. Overall I'd give this place a 1 star only because the service at check in was really nice. "

"Spent a week here for a job and couldn't say enough good about the Super 8. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Had only 1 loud morning, and the front desk person took care of that right away. Decent coffe, bananas and apples for fruit and prepackaged pastry selections for breakfast. VERY friendly staff. Not sure why some reviews give this few stars, unless maybe it's the lighting in the room. Very dim lights to work by. Could have had daily housekeeping if we needed it; a luxury at hotels these days. I travel with a service dog and plenty of green space to walk him. I would go back to this hotel in a heartbeat."
