"We have spent really nice 3 days at the hotel. The staff is so kind, food was delicious, many of kinds of food to choose. Also beds for our children were really comfortable. I must came back! :)"

"Very nice hotel! I was here 2 years ago and came back this year again. It has everything that you need - renovated rooms, renovated cosy SPA (3 Types of Saunas, Infrared beds, station with drinks), cosy lobby where you can order drinks. Food is also good! Hotel is situated exactly on the pist and the lift is 3 min from it, so it is very easy to go to the lift or to come back to the hotel if you don't want skiing. I'd like to thank to the staff of the hotel, everybody was so kind and made our stay so pleasant! Thanks to Eduard, Peter, Nadezda from the restaurant, they are really professionals! Thanks to the reception ladies! Special thanks to Lara for the interesting cocktail presentation (it really worths!). Thanks for the well organised tobogan evening, we really enjoyed it! Hope to see you next year!"

"It is clear why the hotel is 9 out of 9 on tripadvisor in Hintertux. Go anywhere else. Restaurant food and service is awful. Highly processed food. Everything tastes like it's from a packet or can. I left the hotel and checked into another hotel which had far superior food. The only nice part is the new pool and sauna. Reusing leftovers is ok but in my opinion they did it too much and with items that shouldn't be reused. In a 4 star hotel I don't want frankfurter sausages, burnt bacon, the cheapest sourced food you can find. Slices of spam. A starter which is a roll of sandwich processed ham and cheese. Meat you can't chew. To be told they lost my main course order so I can just go to the children's buffet to eat. They served my kid alcoholic desserts repeatedly which is not nice for a kid and he was ill after the 3rd meal. The local farm yoghurt is so sour and lumpy it's not edible. Better to go without a pool! Reception staff were great at handling my request to leave thanks. Rooms old but spacious. Buckets of water catching leaks downstairs, flooded areas etc.... no toilet seat in ski room. They obviously have some financial issues and are trying to renovate so the food budget is the smallest possible. Shame."

"When what a hotel say and provide it's the truth. Das Alois is really Original Mein's. Courtesy and availability from all the stuff, wide range of choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner; all food is superbly cooked through the use also of organic ingredients, with vegan and vegetarian options too. A great, superb and modern Spa in which you can really relax. Through the reception you can book all the sport activities you prefer such as hiking, yoga, E-bike, tennis, riding a horse and so on. We spent a whole week there and we were so good that we didn't want to come back to Italy! "

"We booked two junior suites on the top floor for six skiers. The hotel is centrally located on the main road in Tux, so the main ski areas are within easy walking distance. I had a single room in the suite. The room faced the main road. Unfortunately, the patio door and window didn't have soundproof glass. This was particularly noticeable in the early morning hours. Until then, you could still sleep reasonably well with the window open, but then the peace and quiet was over. The bathroom was stylishly furnished, but there wasn't enough storage space for three people, and there were no hooks for towels. A generous breakfast buffet was offered in the morning, and in the evening there was a choice of three dishes. The food was generally okay, but there's definitely room for improvement: canned corn as a side dish isn't exactly appealing. The staff were all very friendly."

"Our stay here has almost spanned ten days (we leave in two days). We don’t see snow in Western Australia so our mouths were wide open at the abundance of snow and arriving on 6 December, it was beginning to feel a lot like Christmas 🎄 We were collected from the train station by France who was super friendly and give us some local advice. This family ran hotel is superb! Every inch of the hotel is so well thought out and in all honesty, if we were not skiing each day, the hotel alone would offer so much to do. We felt guilty leaving this beautiful place to hit the piste. The staff are all super helpful. No request is too much. So sorry for not remembering all of the names but just a few to mention here: Hannah, Anna, Alexis, Bianca, Johann, Isobela, Patrick, Jonathan, Doriana (sorry if misspelt) and the driver who give us our complimentary trip to the slopes each day! 😊 During our stay we have only had very minor feedback to give directly to the hotel. Nothing to spoil the stay but very minor detail that may put the icing on the cake for some staying guests. It does not reduce the five star review hence our feedback will be directly to hotel and not on here as it may not impact most and would be unfair given the efforts they go to, to make this place as close to perfection as possible. Our 11 and 12 year old said “this place feels like we have landed in heaven.” We have previously stayed in fabulous places so our standards are very high. The Bergfried hotel has met and exceeded our expectations. Some guests were on their eighth stay. That is testament to the standards of this hotel. There is so much we could say about this place but we loved the surprise element of discovering all this hotel had to offer and would hate to take that away from any future guests. Thank you for our wonderful and memorable stay so far. We are not looking forward to checking out 😢"
