Only when we checked in we discovered that the hotel charges an extra 20% for parking (80 zloty, while other parking lots in Zakopane only charge 20 zloty). Also, while service at the restaurant was good and breakfast was excellent, the front desk service was often unfriendly."

Enjoyable spa treatments and qualified staff. The hotel is pet-friendly. The spacious parking lot is a big plus. We'll definitely be back to this hotel. The service is very friendly!"

"If you look at hotel Rysy's webpage, you'd expect a mountian resort, not a hotel in a semi residential area. It is still a 40+ minute bus ride to the Tatra Mountains. They uses creative and good photography. The hotel is nice. I paid for breakfast with my booking but had to pay again at the hotel, and it was $20 USD per person, which is a bit crazy for Poland. They have a nice amount of selection for breakfast food. The floors in the bathroom are heated which is nice."

"This is my second stay at this hotel. Beautiful surroundings, excellent service, a wonderful, spacious room, a comfortable bed, peace and quiet. A great pool with an outdoor jacuzzi, although it's difficult to get in on weekends :( Although I see a slow decline in the quality of breakfasts. Once served exclusively from the menu, today, like everywhere, it's live cooking. There are no more disposable butters, mayonnaise, or mustard. On my first stays, there were always welcome chocolates. And the lobby bar. Almost always empty and sad :( A potential never-before-used opportunity. But I still think this is the best hotel in Zakopane!!!"

"I stayed at Hotel Skalny for 2 nights in May while on a motorbike trip. Room was large and spacious and reasonably modern. The hotel is a fair bit from the main centre with not much round about. I struggled to find any restaurants within walking distance , that were open. I tried the hotel restaurant - which served a buffet meal - but was disappointed with the lack of choice - this may have been because the hotel was quiet with very few guests. Unfortunately although it was late May, the weather was very poor, with temperatures as low as 4C with rain and some snow in the mountains, which put a bit of a damper on the bike trip"
