3-Star Hotels in Iwate Prefecture, Japan

"We were two people staying 3 nights. We had breakfast and we were very happy with it (6:30-10:00, L.O 9:30). It didn’t change much during the stay, but it had a lot of options and it tasted good. The room was small. If you have suitcase it will be hard to open it up. We didn’t have suitcases, so for us it was no problem. The bed and pillows were comfortable. They have a manga library and coffe machine (15:00-22:00), and space with tables and chairs where you can e.g eat. They have laundry as well (10:00-22:00). It was cheep (washing 400 yen 30 min, dryer 100 yen 10 min). It was a standing washing machine (which I don’t really like) and we had a lot of laundry, so we went to another coin laundry 1 min walk from the hotel, which was good (washing 15 kg 30 min 800 yen, drying 10 min 100 yen). We didn’t use room cleaning, but every day we got a bag of towels on our door knob. It is around 10-15 min walk to the station. But it’s close to shopping streets and Iwaki park. It has a lot of restaurants close by. If you like all-you-can-drink there’s a lot of options close by as well. After check out we left our baggage for a couple of hours. It was no problem. The people at the hotel were very nice and polite. Overall we had a very nice stay at this hotel."

"This onsen hotel is excellent overall. Upon arrival, staff proactively met us in the parking lot, even holding an umbrella to shield us from the rain. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and friendly, and spoke fluent English, which made communication easy. The room itself was a pleasant surprise. The tatami room was spacious, and the adjustable chairs were very comfortable. The balcony offered a beautiful view, and enjoying afternoon tea while looking at the snowy scenery was worth the price alone. The onsen facilities offer a great variety, including three free private baths (貸切風呂), one of which is wheelchair accessible, making it convenient for elderly guests. The outdoor onsen, with its stunning snow views, was particularly beautiful. I definitely need to plan another trip here in the autumn."

"The hotel is about half an hour ride from Ryusendo Cave (龍泉洞) and is close to the Sanriku Coast. Judging from photos, it’s probably better than other hotels nearby in terms of cleanliness and amenities. It doesn’t disappoint me. The public bath （大浴場） is good. The view over the coast is perfect."

"The Four Points by Sheraton Morioka is conveniently located very close to the JR station. Just exit West Exit and walk straight, then you can take the pedestrian bridge on the 3rd floor directly to the hotel's sign, take the elevator down, and you're there. The hotel is quite new, and my single room was well-designed; I could fit a 28-inch suitcase at the foot of the bed. The window opens, and the bed was comfortable. It was very quiet during my stay, likely due to lower occupancy, making it perfect for solo travelers. The only downside is that it's a bit of a walk to the nearest convenience store."

"The staff at Dormy Inn Morioka Hot Spring were very friendly and helpful. I really appreciated the complimentary late-night soba noodles, ice cream, and Yakult drinks. The hot spring was lovely, and the room was clean and tidy."

"This hotel is really out-of-the-way; I'd recommend driving. It's mainly a place to go if you want to ski, as it's by a ski resort. I found the area to be very quiet. The hotel food was excellent, though you'll need some level of Japanese proficiency to effectively communicate with the staff. You can enjoy a bath in your room, or the hot springs downstairs. Overall quite nice, the rooms have a cottage feel."

"The exterior and lobby of this accommodation truly amazed me. Due to my itinerary and being my first time in Morioka, I wasn't familiar with the route to the hotel, so it was a bit of a struggle. Dragging my luggage through Morioka's streets was indeed quite difficult. But arriving at the hotel made it all worthwhile. The comfortable environment and friendly staff were incredibly appreciated. I had bought delicious tomatoes, peaches, and blueberries at the Sendai morning market the previous day, and I'm so grateful to the front desk staff for helping to store them, along with my luggage. The biggest surprise was that when I checked in that evening, I found that the staff had already put my luggage in my room and had even refrigerated the fruits and vegetables. I was so touched. I would definitely stay here again if I had the chance. The emergency escape lights would have been better if they were labeled; thank you to the front desk staff for informing me. The lighting wasn't very bright, but it was sufficient. The view from the window was really nice."

"Hotel Jin Morioka is just next to the train station. Very convenient location as a center point to travel in the region. Rooms are clean and nice with Mountain View. Breakfast for only 1000 Yen is a very good offer. Definitely recommend this hotel 👍"

"Superb onsen hotel. We took sea view and it was superb with a small balcony. Room are very confortable and big. Onsen was excellent with an outside bath looking at the bay. We had dinner also and it was 5 star. Staff were super helpful (front desk, restaurant etc)"

"This hotel has an excellent location, very close to the JR station. You just cross the road and it's a short walk away. The hotel looks new, and the rooms, while not huge, have a minimalist feel. The amenities have been upgraded since my last stay at another branch (in a different city last year), making them very convenient to use. The price is also very reasonable. Highly recommended!"
