"The hotel's location is excellent. It's about a 10-minute walk from the Kumamoto Bus Terminal after taking a bus from Fukuoka. The commercial district, Kumamoto tram, and Kumamoto Castle are all nearby and easily accessible on foot. The hygiene is impeccable; you even take off your shoes upon entering the lobby, storing them in shoe lockers on the first floor. The front desk service was superb. We stayed for three nights and changed rooms once, and they immediately allowed us to check in, without making us wait until 3 PM. When we looked lost outside, they promptly provided us with a map, suggestions, and directions. The deluxe twin room, a Japanese-style room, is quite spacious by Japanese standards and elegantly decorated. The washing area, shower, and toilet are three separate, independent spaces. The onsen (hot spring) on the 11th floor is also very clean, with a pleasant environment. Afterward, there are free ice pops and a relaxation area. Free ramen is served at 9:30 PM, which was also delicious. There's free coffee on the first floor, and the breakfast is abundant and exquisite, with a high 'eatability' factor. All in all, I hope to have the chance to stay here again."

"The hotel exceeded my expectations so much in a good way!
It's very clean, the room was spacious, all cosmetic amenities you could wish for are included. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they even give you a small gift during check in, nice touch! Also they provide a very good range of welcome drinks in the evening.
The breakfast was 1000 jpy, great value for money: plentiful and good, exept coffee - coffee quality could be improved)
Location is okay, not very close to airport but also not very far, taxi from airport was 2500 jpy.

"The hotel is obe of the biggest in the area. We were fetched by the hotel’s van bexause it was raining. But it is walkable from the bus stop.
There is free coffee and snacks in the lobby area. And also free beer in the bar.
The onsens are very big and clean. Both public and private ones are super nice and clean. The private onsen did not have towels so make sure to bring your own.
Rooms are big and clean with the view of the creek or river.

"Amakusa is at the edge of Kumamoto, and transportation is inconvenient. You can take the Amakusa bus from Kumamoto, which takes two and a half hours on the road. There will be no group tours in this place, which is good. It is quiet and the hot springs are basically like a private place. The hotel facilities are relatively new, the sea view is extremely beautiful, and the hot spring water quality is excellent. But there are no places to play around, so in the hotel you can: watch the sea, soak in hot springs, and be in a daze. Note: There are only two ways to leave Amakusa, one is to return to Kumamoto, and the other is to take a ferry across the sea to Nagasaki. Don't choose the Lingbei Steamship plan to go to Nagasaki. If the wind speed is greater than 10 meters/second, the steamer will stop sailing. The wind speed in Amakusa is 16-30 meters/second every day. It depends on the weather to sail. There is a forecast on the blog of Lingbei Steamship. Once it can sail, it will be like good news. If you really want to go to Nagasaki, it is best to choose to take the car and passenger ferry to Oniike Port, which basically will not stop sailing. It costs more than 3,000 yen to take a taxi from Amakusa Angel Garden Hotel to Oniike Port. After crossing the sea to Kuchikozu Port, take a bus to Isahaya, where you can transfer to the Nagasaki Line train to Nagasaki Station."

1. The hotel is directly opposite Kumamoto Castle, making it very convenient for sightseeing. It's also close to Kumamoto's Kamimachi area.
2. The views are excellent. From the 10th-floor restaurant, you can see Kumamoto Castle, and there's a free self-service beverage machine for unlimited drinks.
3. The room size is generous; a 26-inch suitcase can open completely. The facilities are new and very clean, and the service is good.
Cons:
The streets are very dark at night, and it's quite a distance to the nearest convenience store."

"From the hotel entrance, the friendly guidance, the room was spacious and clean, the amenities were good, and the bathroom and bathtub were separate, so I was able to sleep without being disturbed, which was great. GGuest UserHaving lived in Japan for over ten years, I have to commend this hotel. It far exceeded my expectations.
1. Right outside the door is the largest local bus terminal, making it incredibly convenient to get to the airport, Aso, Amakusa, and Fukuoka.
2. The price is half or even less than half of surrounding hotels. I originally had no expectations, thinking it would just be a cheap place to crash.
3. While the hallway decor looks a bit dated, it perfectly aligns with the MUJI団地 (housing complex) design philosophy. You even use a traditional key to open the door.
4. Although the room has an old-style Japanese business hotel decor, it's exceptionally clean and very spacious. The room design is well-thought-out, making it comfortable and secure to use.
5. Both check-in and check-out at the front desk were handled with meticulous care and polite, professional service. This is something even much more expensive hotels I've stayed at elsewhere often fail to deliver.
6. I stayed here for five consecutive nights and had a great experience. I would definitely choose this hotel again for future family trips.

เเปรี้ยวไปเรื่อยIt was actually pretty good, not as bad as some of the Google Maps reviews suggest! Our triple room was huge; we could easily open three suitcases and still had a sofa area to relax. The room was clean, even the AC vents in the bathroom were dust-free. All the toiletries were provided. They have a karaoke room, a common lounge for reading, a gym, a ping-pong table, a walking track, and massage chairs. After dinner, I even went to burn off some calories by playing ping-pong. There's an onsen with a public bath and six private onsen rooms, all free and available all night without booking! The front desk staff were polite and friendly, and they communicated well in English. Even though there were three tour buses full of Thai and Korean tourists, it wasn't chaotic at all. For dinner, the all-you-can-eat crab wasn't huge, but it certainly wasn't tiny and meatless. And there was a wide selection of free alcoholic drinks, so it's probably a drinker's paradise!

GGuest UserJust wow! Scored a great deal on this and the room exceeded all expectations in terms of room size, design and location. Parked near the hotel and they have a “deal” for just 1200yen from 3pm to 11am. These are the official check in and check out times. If not, there is a standard 7pm to 7am flat rate 800yen at the same parking station. Really depends what time you get in/leave.

HHJHKPros- spacious villa, quality bedding and large private indoor onsen( see picture 13). We also like the public outdoor onsen in the sister ryokan nearby. There is a little cafe there you can buy drinks and coffee, run by an adorable old couple, very nice and polite. We spent a lot of time there just chilling and listening to the music.
Cons-
Living room: we were only able to book the western style villa as it’s a little last minute trip. The living room is basic, bland, with sofa, instead or tatami. Our room 512 is next to the car park. Parking lot in front of your main door is not very pleasant.
Food : just soso. Nothing extraordinary. See picture. No horse sashimi, the presentation of the steak is really ordinary - disappointing. Perhaps because we had such an amazing meals in the previous ryokan this became a massive letdown.
Dinner served in a large public dining room, lack of the privacy and intimacy ther ryokan provide ( we had private dining room in another ryokan 野之花during this trip). I got to see other couples but also feeling like we are being watched.
Service- served by young people, not much attentiveness you would expect in traditional ryokan, lack of the warmth and ritual.
Reception- 3 star at best. A basic room with uncomfortable chair while you wait to be checked in. We arrived around 2:30pm, and was told that check in can only start at 3pm, and please wait. So we sat at the hard chair and forced to watch the promotional video until 3pm.
Conclusion - 3.5 star ryokan, not the most exciting or exclusive villa we have stayed. Maybe it would get better once the trees grow thicker and staff better trained. The sister Ryokan nearby has better feel of environment and feels more established.

ぶぶんきっきI arrived a little early, but I was happy to check in. It was a very smiling response from the pick-up to the guide to the room. The meal also used plenty of local ingredients, and it was especially delicious that the vegetables picked at the home farm were impressed.
The staff seemed to be foreign, but I thought Japanese was good and very smiling and wonderful.

My only minor critique is that the location isn't the most convenient, but despite that, I found the overall experience to be very satisfactory.

Aanshimit was a very cute place!! the owner seemed like she loved the place very much, and was decorated very nicely. it’s a women’s only hostel, so i was glad that i was born a woman. i got one of the rooms - very clean, and the shred kitchen was nicely decorated. you can see the castle on the rooftop.

TTony FillonyReally great place. It's located on a hill, so getting around without a car in this area would be difficult. The apartment itself is spacious, clean, and has a wonderful view. The bathroom is fantastic.
The only downside is the disposable tableware. I really wished there was at least one proper glass and plate.
