"This is my second time staying at Nagano Tokyu REI. The hotel's location is excellent, just across the street from Nagano Station, making it super convenient for catching buses to Hakuba Village and Togakushi. "The location is superb as its just infront of Nagano Station. Room was fine but a bit outdated but still acceptable. The local Japanese staff was really friendly and helpful but the Indian/Bangladeshi guy who was at the receptionist was cocky. We asked whats the nearby attraction places we could go while waiting for the check-in time (because he did not allow early check-in, which still understandable) but he simply said, ‘you can go to the infomation counter at Nagano station’ Bruh???? What’s wrong with you? Who hurt you, brother? Hence, i cant really appreciate his service, but the older Japanese guy was really friendly and tried to help even he was not really fluent in English but i still appreciate his effort. Oh btw, there is no free parking for guests. You will need to park it somewhere else nearby the hotel."

"This was a last minute selection on the train from Tokyo, but the right one. It's a short 5 minute walk from the Nagano station and has spacious rooms. The staff is friendly and helpful, but best of all, on arrival you are given a welcome drink and dessert of your choice. The entire place seems to be obsessed with desserts, to my liking. They also provides free ice cream and upon check out, bags of candy and cookies. Maybe it's a Christmas promotion, but a welcome surprise. The breakfast is a bit expensive, but has a nice selection of food choices, including salmon, more desserts, and various Japanese food. I only stayed one night, but I believe they have an onsen and other amenities. Well worth it. I stayed in other hotels in Nagano, and this one was superior."

"The hotel is located in the old Ginza Center. A taxi ride to the hotel at night cost us about 1100 yen.
The lobby is on the second floor, with restaurants and shops on the first floor.
We arrived at night and took the elevator to the second floor to check-in.
The staff were all very enthusiastic. When we asked for dinner recommendations, they eagerly suggested places and even offered us hotel discount coupons.
The lobby's decor perfectly matched the charming cabin style, creating a very comfortable ambiance.
The cabin-style room decor was beautiful and cozy. It felt very spacious; we could open two 28-inch suitcases on the floor without any issues getting around.
The room had a shower, no bathtub.
We stayed in D6, and the view outside the window was lovely. It wasn't too close to neighbors and there wasn't much disturbance.
We tried the hotel's Japanese breakfast one day, priced at 2200 yen per person. It was very exquisite and delicious.
Opposite the hotel is the red-roofed St. Paul's Catholic Church.
If you want to go to the Prince Hotel Outlet, it's about a 30-minute walk or a 7-10 minute taxi ride.
Staying at this hotel is more convenient if you're self-driving or using taxis, which is what we did for transportation. A taxi ride to the Christmas illumination event next to Hoshino Resorts cost about 3500 yen."

After entering the room, I found it to be very stuffy and hot. When I turned on the air conditioning, it was only heating. Since the weather outside was quite cool, I understand that the system is centrally controlled and set to heating. I then tried opening the window, but it could only be opened a small amount. For some reason, no fresh air was coming in, and the room still felt very stuffy.
Later, I went down to the counter (again, the same two male staff from check-in) to ask if the air conditioning could be switched to cooling, but my request was rejected. I then asked if it was possible to borrow a fan, and they refused again with a very impatient attitude.
Overall, the stay was not a very good experience. The room itself was actually fine, but it was too stuffy. I hope this review can be helpful to others."

I believe the hotel has some history, as the facilities are a bit dated, but they are very clean and perfectly acceptable.
We'd give the hotel's breakfast an A+! It was truly thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented, and the service staff were incredibly kind and polite.
We checked in quite late, around 8 PM, and the gentleman at the front desk was so patient and thorough in explaining everything to us in English. We're very grateful for his help.

"First off, the location is incredibly convenient. It's quite close to the Zenkoji Exit of JR Nagano Station. From there, if you're heading to Togakushi, you can buy bus tickets at a small shop located at Platform 7 in front of JR Nagano Station. For Zenkoji Temple, you can either walk or take a bus from Platform 1. A taxi to Zenkoji would cost between 1300-2000 yen. As for the hotel facilities, they're perfect, except for the rooms being a bit small. The front desk on the first floor offers complimentary coffee and juice, and the coffee beans are excellent. From 9:30 PM to 11:00 PM, they serve free soy sauce ramen. The rooftop onsen is wonderfully relaxing, and they even provide ice cream and Yakult. There's a 7-Eleven right next to the hotel. Plus, the hotel doesn't look old at all. Highly recommend for a stay in Nagano."

AalwaysholidayI stayed for one day with my partner as a treat and it was one of the most amazing experiences we have ever had. With traditional Yukata provided and access to all 9 public onsens where you can get stamps on towel bought from the reception. The dinner and breakfast had a wide variety of flavours which made them more than just a meal but a immersive traditional experience. 10/10 would recommend to everyone i know. Wish we had stayed for another day to try out the private onsens on the accommodation. Note that, we had the chicken option as another comment stated, the beef option is not available on the trip.com platform, so you might have to call them up in advancecto change it.

We stayed 3D2N from 13 November 2025 at Hotel Keigetsu (日長庵 桂月), and it turned out to be one of the best choices for our Nakasendo trip. The ryokan sits in a peaceful corner of Hirugami Onsen, surrounded by nature and traditional Japanese charm.
There is a designated parking area exclusively for guests, accommodating around 15-20 cars of all sizes, making it very convenient for self-drive travellers.
We chose a Japanese-style room with a private bathroom, and the highlight was the beautiful wooden bathtub — perfect for a relaxing soak in complete privacy. In the mornings, the view from our room was calm and peaceful, with gentle bird chirping adding to the serene atmosphere.
Our stay included breakfast and dinner, and both meals were exceptional. Each dish was beautifully prepared using seasonal ingredients, and the servers were patient and friendly, taking time to explain each course and share stories about local flavours. Their warm hospitality truly enhanced the dining experience.
The ryokan is within walking distance to the Morning Market, just about 10 minutes away, making it an enjoyable little morning stroll. There is also a FamilyMart right beside the ryokan, just a short walk away — extremely convenient for drinks, snacks, or last-minute essentials during your stay.
The staff also introduced several nearby activities and hiking trails, and the routes are super visitor-friendly, making this ryokan an ideal base for exploring the Nakasendo area.
The onsen baths were another highlight — soothing, clean, and filled with Hirugami’s famously smooth, skin-friendly hot spring water. Perfect for unwinding every evening.
Overall, Hotel Keigetsu offers excellent food, warm service, relaxing onsen, comfortable rooms, and unbeatable convenience, whether you’re here for onsen relaxation or the Nakasendo trail.
Highly recommended for a peaceful, authentic, and memorable ryokan stay in Nagano. ♨️🍁🌿✨

Besides that, the hotel's location is super convenient with lots of great food options nearby. The guy at the front desk spoke excellent English too. Parking at the hotel was also very easy! Overall, the service gets full marks!

GGuest UserThe reality exceeded my expectations; the hotel was even better than I imagined. The room was very comfortable for a family with a small child! There's a private hot spring for families available by reservation, though the usage time is a bit short, it's still great overall! The food is high-quality, delicious, and varied. It's also possible to extend your stay for 1000 yen per hour, which is super convenient when traveling with a child. The hotel corridors aren't perfectly clean due to age, but the room itself is clean and pleasant.

GGuest UserHotel Marroad is just a few minutes by the shuttle bus from the station , and it can also be reached on foot. We booked a room for 4 people and the room size is good at a very reasonable price (include breakfast). The fixtures are a bit old. However, the room and the amenities are very clean. We come to skiing and the hotel has a rental service (much cheaper than you rent at the ski field) which is very convenient. Also, they send us to ski field every day.
Staff can speak little English, but they are all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delicious, and it is a must try.

OOlyOlyExcellent hotel with a superb location! It's literally a 2-minute walk from the station, which is incredibly convenient if you're arriving from Tokyo. Right next to the station, there's also a bus terminal for trips to the Snow Monkeys or various ski resorts. The hotel itself is very clean, and the room was even more spacious than other business hotels I've stayed in. The service is top-notch. Everything you need is provided; you can pick up toiletries at the reception downstairs, and even pajamas on your floor! The view from the window of the city and mountains is stunning.
The hotel entrance is next to Lawson. You'll need to go up to the 5th floor for reception, and then there's a separate elevator for the guest floors.
