The hotel's overall condition didn't quite meet my expectations due to the large number of guests during the year-end events. However, I was pleased with the daily housekeeping cleanliness and the hotel's location. The Whole Foods Market across the street and the airport pick-up/drop-off service were also a plus.
The location of the hotel is very good. There is a shopping mall next to it. There is a ** uncle shopping supermarket not far away. It is very convenient to reach Princeton University. It is about four or five kilometers away. It is also very convenient for breakfast. The stay is quite comfortable, but it is a little bit old. Overall, the price/performance ratio is pretty good. Princeton is really good. So beautiful
It was helpful that they were able to accommodate connecting rooms. We were in the Havana Tower. We booked run of the house, which was a king bed in the hold tower. To upgrade to 2 beds and for connecting option it was an additional $29 fee.
The room design is quite comfortable, the bed is big, the overall hygiene is good, the air conditioner is an old-fashioned one, which is quite noisy. The hotel provides breakfast and dinner, and there are not many choices, but the taste is good. It is quite comfortable overall and a good choice for business trips.
They charged me $190 without explanations. When I checked out they said $50 deposit will be refunded, but still charged me $140 for the room. At the time of booking with Trip was $137 tax and service included.
They did not even give me bottle water in the room. Only keurig coffee machine and water in there was dirty. I told them I only need hot water to make some tea, they told me to go to the gym but the hot water was not even working there, so I had to buy a cup of hot water for $1 + tax and a bottle water which the price was as high as airport price.
The only thing beneficial to me was airport shuttle every 30 min and run 24 hrs daily.
I stayed at TRYP by Wyndham Newark Downtown on a Tuesday night and overall had a good experience. The hotel is in a very convenient location, an easy walking distance to Newark Penn Station, which makes getting around extremely convenient.
The room was clean and comfortable, and the property feels well-maintained. My only complaint is the water pressure in the shower, which was noticeably weak. Everything else worked well, but stronger water pressure would make the stay much better.
Overall, a solid choice for a short stay in Newark, especially if you need quick access to Penn Station.

王王The hotel is very good, one room and one living room with kitchen and dishwasher. Better than the hotel
CCRodOk so first let me just say for the price we paid on the days we went. It wasn't horrible. I would go back BUT YMMV so this was my experience.
Location was great. Right on the boardwalk and an easy walk to Hard Rock when we went to the concert.
Service was meh. The only time I had a friendly anyone in the establishment was the woman who checked us out. Everyone else that we interacted with were either disinterested or perfunctory. No help on where to find our rooms, no help on any services offered. We didn't even get the annoying (did you want to sign up for our card?) that you get in ****** hotels. I guess that was a plus.
From my understanding we were on the ”older side” of the establishment. But regardless, staying on an entire floor that says non smoking it smelled of smoke. both cigarettes and ****. I don't care if you do either but I do care to smell either in my room or right outside my door (defeats the whole purpose of non smoking). Everything is dated which is whatever. but the blinds didn't work the coffee maker wire was too short for the ”dresser” so you had to keep moving it to the nightstand to use it. The room itself was relatively clean although the back of the nightstands hadn't been touched in a long time with all that accumulation of dust. Its design is just...weird. like so much random open area. I guess you can dance there lol. The ”dresser” didn't have drawers it had...like cubby holes. We didn't use them seemed pointless. I didn't even bother with the tv it was too far away and faced away from any sitting area (again weird layout).
The ****** itself was ok. Nothing crazy although I did like that rotating bar they had. But again. EVERYWHERE just reeked of smoke. To use a comparison, at Hard Rock when you were on the ****** side sure people smoked there (i get it) but the hotel side of things smelled clean refreshing and airy.
In the end, manage expectations and you'll be fine. If you are a smoker I am sure you will be fine too. If all you plan to do is sleep there its fine (although we were on the 7th floor and could still hear the music bumping below but the music was good so w/e lol) It works, again its not horrible. Its definitely 2.5-3 star range.

GGuest UserThe screen door to the balcony was broken and the screen ripped apart from its door frame. It would not close all the way or lock. The second issue is the refrigerator was broken and froze everything I put in it. I lost the food I put in it due to it being frozen solid. the back of the refrigerator was completely caked with ice and when I told front desk and asked if the Bistro was still open a few minutes before it was scheduled to close, I got a ”sorry” and the cook was cleaning up and would not make something to replace the lunch I had lost. There was no microwave in the room which would have helped me in this instance, and would help other visitors in the future. The last issue is the bathtub/shower and the most important one. The floor of the tub was not protected with any kind of slip-resistant materials and was as slippery as ice. I did slip when I took a shower but luckily I was able to catch my fall. At 74 years of age, that could have been devastating for me and, in the long run, for the hotel as well. I notified the front desk about this and asked if they had any kind of rubber mat or something I could use to avoid possibly falling and, again, the answer was the same as it was for the refrigerator; i.e. ”I'm sorry.” I was then given two cloth bath mats to put in the shower.
GGuest UserThere was no remote to the Tv I called room service
I asked for a remote remote control I received the remote control about a half hour later
And the remote control didn’t work I immediately called the from desk for a bout an hour and there was no answer
GGuest UserOne of the many hotels near the airport, it's neither good nor bad, and it can't be said to have any special features, but it is still very convenient and appropriate to stay for one night when you need to transfer. The front desk will carefully record the departure time for the next morning.
