I just needed a bed to sleep in the city while exploring what the Melbourne CBD has to offer. To my amazement the YHA exceeded my expectations. The shared bathrooms were clean with toiletries and hair dryers. Loved the concept of shared kitchen to prep your own food while there’s barista made coffee and cocktails in the lobby for purchase. While hanging out, I met other travellers and made friends too. I checked out early to explore more before leaving, luggage storage was convenient and I even got a towel to shower before I left. Point to note, ask for a room away from the side alley as you will be able to hear the rubbish truck early in the morning and smells coming through if you leave the window open. There’s no ventilation if you don’t keep the window open. I took a four bed sharing and the air can be stale if the windows are closed.
I had a very comfortable stay here and I was surprised at the standard. It seems that it's had a make over recently as everything seems new looking and fresh. The staff member that checked me in was friendly, efficient and willing to assist me with a small issue with my booking. Access is easy, even outside trading hours. I will stay here again sometime. I would say it's also great value. Thank you !
Amazing central location, great room, polite staff, clean room and area , even tho there’s a sharing bathroom. Please guys, since is winter in Melbourne, add a heater inside the room, cause it was freezing. Having a fan that gives only fresh air, on winter season, doesn’t make any sense. Thank you ! Great experience! Not recommended if you have a car. I had to pay 15$ extra for the parking.
We had booked a room with a queen bed, the room we were given had a double. While at a birthday party I received a call and was offered to option to change rooms which I declined as I had no idea when we were getting back which ended up being late.
The heater did not work, the shower leaked water all over the floor and the cabin smelt like it had been locked up for months, a pretty disappointing stay
I was surprised this property was rated as high as it was. It was fine, if a little basic. The room was very noisy from both inside and outside the property. Close to public transport but you need it to get anywhere as it is quite far from the main sites.

Location is good, it is away from the tram hence not much of noise. This hostel is within CBD so you can walk to most of the tourist attractions. Room is clean there isn't any weird smell when I checked in. The toilet sink is very small and hardly enough space for toiletries. Staff cleans the toilet quite frequently but there is still room for improvement. Hair dryer and towel are available for rental during stay.
A typical backpacker hostel.
One capsule per person.
Other facilities are shared.
The kitchen is messy but well-equipped.
The bathrooms are quite clean.
The two managers are foreigners. Communication might be difficult if you don't speak English, but they are very nice, friendly, and welcoming.
The entrance is a bit hard to find.
After going up the stairs from the entrance and reaching the first security gate, don't go through that gate; instead, go directly through the small door on the right. There are no signs on the door.
The manager was very nice, the hotel rooms are located at 2/F but he is willing to help with the luggage carry even without request.
The hotel location is fantastic, only 20-30 mins to Melbourne central (one tram only after you get the skybus from airport as well).
supermarket, restaurant, cafe, gelato shop around as well.
Clean, big room, nice toilet&restroom, nice kitchen, nice laundry.
Highly recommend that hotel, definitely my priority choice if I come to Melbourne again.
The only bad side is the room at 2/F that you have to carry your stuff up and down if you buy lots of things. And watch out especially in rainy day as it’s a metal stair.

GGuest UserThe room comfortably accommodates 6 people with three double beds, and the bedding is very clean. Each floor has a desk with charging points. The WiFi speed is decent. Breakfast includes sandwiches, toast, milk, coffee, cereal, and unlimited drinks. There's also a gas stove, which is great if you like to cook your own meals, like boiling an egg. The living room on the first floor is spacious enough for dozens of people to have meetings or chats. A major plus is its 8-minute walk to Southern Cross Station, located right in the city center on King Street.
**Environment:** Quiet, safe, and convenient.
**Cleanliness:** The bathroom is very clean, gets daily cleaning, and has no unpleasant odors.

AAnonymous UserExcellent location for a stop by along the ocean road, 15 minutes drive to Apollo bay, quiet little property located at the foot of mountain and facing the sea, with fantastic ocean view and interesting rock and sand beach
The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room of bay view is spacious with a small sitting room and all necessary utensils
People just need to bring necessary food and drink to cook for themselves as there is a bit distance from the town center
A little advice though: please provide air-conditioner for the accommodations as it’s pretty hot in summer in the room. It’s not comfortable and the guest cannot sleep well in the summer heat

丁丁The guy at the front desk is very good, my English is not good, he very enthusiastically recommended the surrounding food, drink and fun, and also helped me buy a fishing permit to catch crabs, and stay here next time.

GGuest UserThe lights in the male toilets are not working well. It switches off every 2.5 minutes . When one is taking bath at night - it is very dark and both my boys almost slip and hit their heads in the bathroom. They had to yell so loud so that I could bring torches for them. Basically, for the next few days - whether brushing teeth, bathing , wee or poo- one has to bring their camping lights in the toilet. This is not acceptable considering the rooms are close to $160 a night for bunk beds .
The communal kitchen however is good as they have freezer for people on fishing trips etc
