The rooms are located inside a historic stone and wood building that has been renovated respecting the culture of the place, creating very large rooms, in style, equipped with all possible technological comforts. The owner, Lawrence, speaks perfect English (a very rare thing to find in Jiuanshui), is a highly cultured person and can help you solve any type of problem as well as accompanying you on visits to the surroundings, making you enter the heart of Yunnan. It is the best place I have stayed in Yunnan, without a doubt. In this place I left my heart, respect and affection for Lawrence and all the staff.

I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank the owner for the wonderful BBQ Doufu gathering they organized for all the guests. It was such a thoughtful and kind gesture, and it truly made our stay even more memorable. The effort they put into bringing everyone together, preparing the delicious food, and creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere did not go unnoticed. It was a joy to meet the other guests, share stories, and enjoy the fantastic BBQ Doufu in such a beautiful setting. Their hospitality and attention to detail made the evening truly special. This homestay is not just a place to stay—it’s an experience filled with warmth, care, and a sense of community. We are so grateful for the memories we’ve made here, and the BBQ gathering was the perfect highlight of our time. For Didi from Kunming Railway Station, you can put Echarm Hotel (Nanping Pedestrian Street Kunming) as drop-off location. The lobby is located at the 3rd Floor. Booked 3 rooms - 2 Twin Room and 1 room with bath tub and fridge. Let me tell you something that a Malaysian could really relate and appreciate. THIS HOTEL GOT A SMART TOILET WITH BIDET. YOU HEARD IT RIGHT, A BIDET! They also provide Laundry Room where you can wash and dryer your clothes (if you are staying here, just bring a few clothes since you can wash it later.. Hahaha) Laundry time 10am to 10pm.. Free hot tea at the reception.. 24 hours cute receptionist will be there to assist you of anything.. Free coffee and soda in the room. The amenities are good! Got shampoo, conditioner and body wash. All other basic amenities (comb, tooth brush, slippers etc are also provided. There is also a cute hair accessories shop in front of the hotel. All I can that this is a very RECOMMENDED Hotel to stay when you come to Kunming. Accessible Halal places by Didi everywhere..

We had an amazing experience during our 4 night stay in the Xianlai inn (idle inn) in Dali. We were hosted by a wonderful couple that went above and beyond typical hotel hospitality. They met all our requests ( eg fixing our showering hose when the water output was too low, helping to extend our stay for 2 more night when our friend experienced health issues etc). We were a group of 5 travellers and they tried their best to provide the largest available rooms for us during our extension. They also gave very good food recommendations (these restaurants were clean and hygienic. The staff were nice and the food was delicious) A friend of ours injured (tipsy) himself from a fall in the hotel room late into the night. We informed them and they immediately helped us get taxi to the hospital and the husband even travelled to the hospital to help with us with communications with the local medical staff. When our friend came back to the hotel the wife even provided homemade food for him as he had no appetite. Would highly recommend this inn to all visitors to dali for a comfortable and wonderful stay. I booked this homestay on Ctrip a month in advance. The location is very good, in the center of the ancient town. As soon as I got off the car, there were staff to help me carry my luggage. The courtyard is simple but exquisite. Although it is a wooden structure, the rooms are carpeted. In our opinion, there is basically no sound insulation problem. The boss is very nice and gave me a guide to the ancient town very carefully. They also have a very cute dog at home, which is very tame. It is also very comfortable to sit in the yard and bask in the sun during the day. When you go out, you will see the big tree where Xie Zhiyao's grandmother sets up a stall. It is so convenient to check in!

The location of the inn is very good, just in the small alley near the west gate of the ancient city, it is very convenient to go to Dabanjing. The taste of Lin'an Fuji cuisine is very convenient. The inn is a courtyard with not many rooms but the facilities are complete. The room is large and the floor is high and comfortable. The inn also has a small yard. Not big but very warm, Very suitable for friends to blow the roast tofu at night. The most important thing is that the inn has a very cute kitten~ Monica, we miss her very much after we go home ❤️❤️

We had initially planned to stay at this hotel for four days and three nights, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to shorten our stay and return to our hometown earlier than expected. Despite the change in plans, we are truly grateful for the wonderful hospitality extended to us throughout our stay. In particular, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to Mr. Jack for his exceptional service. He went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, and his thoughtful recommendations—especially the halal food options—made a meaningful difference to our trip. Thank you once again for the warm and attentive service. We hope to return and stay with you again in the future under better circumstances.

Actually, I really liked this hotel—the design, location, cleanliness, and the staff were all excellent. The location is very strategic, just a 500-meter walk to the Old Town. And we can rent a bike for strolling around Dali there. The staff were also very helpful; they even helped carry our luggage to our room on the third floor. For such an affordable price, this hotel exceeded my expectations—the room was also quite spacious. However, I was disappointed by the owner. She asked us to cancel our train tickets to Lijiang and take a bus instead, which she arranged. She said it was a premium bus and part of his business. But in reality, we were put on a regular public bus, which was not premium at all—the air conditioning didn’t work, and the ticket price had been marked up by nearly double. We also had to wait at a roadside bus stop crossing a busy main road with our luggage.

This homestay is really a fairyland on earth! It is located by the lake, the small courtyard is built by the water, and the flowers on the lawn are in full bloom, as if you are in the sea of flowers. In summer, the boss will organize everyone to barbecue, and the atmosphere is really pleasant. The room is impeccable, clean and tidy, lying on the bed can overlook the sparkling lake and the spectacular karst landform, feeling the whole world has a panoramic view. We came in the off-season and were lucky to be upgraded to the lake view room for free by the proprietress. It was really overjoyed and super happy! The service is also first-class, and the butler-level service makes people feel warm. No matter where you want to go, they will arrange it for you. Contact the proprietress in advance and enjoy the pick-up service. It is really intimate to get home. Breakfast is also a highlight, steamed buns are steamed by the proprietress herself, big and delicious. There are also rice noodles, porridge and various coarse grains, such as sweet potatoes, pumpkins, eggs, etc., which are nutritious and taste superb. The small courtyard echoes Qinglong Mountain. Sitting in the courtyard, drinking tea and looking at the sky, you can feel the full poetry. Although the lotus has been thanked this time, I have made an appointment with the proprietress. I will come back next summer when the lotus is in full bloom. I believe that the scenery at that time will be more charming.

The CO value is high and the location is very good. Although you can't drive to the door, it only takes 5 minutes to walk in. Seeing that it was difficult to move our luggage, they helped us move to the first floor. The courtyard and room layout are clearly thoughtful and very beautiful. Due to the limited space of the old house, the room and bathroom are relatively small, but they are sufficient. Moreover, we like its space and location very much. It is more comfortable to sleep with an electric blanket! There are many tea rooms in the public space, and there are also delicious free refreshments and tea. It is very fun for friends to have dinner in the tea room together! I also highly recommend Weishan, a simple, beautiful and non-commercial city!
