I stayed on the first floor, and there were three shower rooms. Although the soundproofing was quite poor, everyone was considerate. Anyway, people staying here are usually out early and back late, so it didn't really matter. It's incredibly convenient for getting around; Shin-Imamiya JR station is about 300 meters away, and Dobutsuen-mae subway station is about 150 meters. The only downside is there isn't a convenience store downstairs, but you can just pick things up at the intersection after getting off the train, then head straight to your room. There aren't many dining options nearby. Overall, it's excellent value for money.

Hotel Sun Plaza Osaka | The King of Value for Money! A Must-Stay for Budget Travelers! If you're coming to Osaka and want to save money while still having convenient transportation, this hotel is a definite lock! The overall experience exceeded my expectations, and the value for money is absolutely off the charts! First off, the location is incredibly fantastic! It's just a few steps from Shin-Imamiya Station, less than a 3-minute walk. Whether you're taking the JR to Kyoto or Nara, or transferring to the subway to explore the city, it's super convenient. Downstairs, there are tons of restaurants and convenience stores. You can walk to Tsutenkaku Tower and Shinsekai in about 10 minutes. If you want to grab some yakitori or explore retro streets at night, you don't have to go out of your way at all. Lazy people will absolutely love it. The hotel has a Japanese minimalist style. Although it's an economy option, the cleanliness is perfectly on point. The room was tidily arranged with no strange odors. The tatami mats in the Japanese-style room were soft and quite comfortable to sleep on. The space is indeed a bit small, and it might feel cramped for two people, but considering the price, and if you're just returning to sleep at night, it's totally sufficient. The common areas offer free tea and coffee, and vending machines are fully stocked. The attention to detail is quite thoughtful. And the service is an added bonus! The front desk staff are super gentle and friendly, and English communication is no problem. They even proactively help with luggage storage, and they're very accommodating for early check-ins or late check-outs. When I visited in the summer, the staff even offered popsicles to help cool down, which was really heartwarming. Also, the men's and women's bathrooms are separate and accessible 24 hours a day, and toiletries are fully provided, so you don't need to bring your own. I also have to be honest about the downsides: the soundproofing in the rooms is a bit poor, so you can hear noise from next door. If you're sensitive to sound, I recommend bringing earplugs. Some room types have shared bathrooms, and although they're clean, you have to go downstairs, which can be a bit inconvenient. Additionally, prices on Saturdays can be 2-3 times higher than weekdays, so it's more cost-effective to try and avoid booking on weekends. Overall, for a budget hotel, you really can't find major faults. The location is great, it's clean, and the service is thoughtful. For students or budget travelers on a limited budget, this is a no-brainer. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Osaka!

Fantastic atmosphere! The room was very quiet, and the air conditioning kept it nice and warm, so I had a really solid night's sleep! There's a lounge area with free drinks (see p4), which was a thoughtful touch. Plenty of convenience stores and vending machines nearby, and transportation was super convenient; I mostly used Honmachi Station. They provide free towels and slippers, and the bathroom is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, facial cleanser, makeup remover, and even toner/lotion! You can also borrow hair oil and curling irons. Plus, free breakfast is included. Even though I didn't get to try the breakfast and some of the amenities, I highly, highly recommend this place. Thanks to this spot, my solo trip in Japan felt so much warmer!

This hotel is very close to Nippombashi Station, about a 3–5 minute walk, which makes it very convenient. It is best for travelers without large luggage. The lockers are only backpack-sized. If you have a big suitcase, you need to place it against the wall, which is not very convenient when opening it. The cleanliness is good, and the amenities are decent. Overall, it is good value for money. Recommended for budget travelers or those staying for a short time.

It’s a fine and cheap place. You will have a tiny room with fridge and air conditioner. Tatami mat and small pillow is where you sleep. There is toilet on each floor. Shower is on the first floor. You’ll need to give your key to get the shower key (two cabins only). You will also have an access to small sento. It is available 13-21:00 for men, only 21:00-23:00 for women. There are free umbrella rentals. Amenities can be bought at the counter downstairs. There are many people who live in the hotel. The only downside was the smell in the room of my clothes. If you go to Tobita Shinchi this place is for you, it is super close.

Very close to Osaka Metro Doubutsumae station. Many shops and convenience store nearby as well. Room are okay, the only concern is the toilet are somehow broken. The public bathroom (onsen) is cool if you have no issue to be naked in public.

Budget hostel. Location is convenient. Only two stops to Namba. We booked triple room, The space is tight and small so not recommended if you bring large luggage. The beds are a bit dusty and pillows are too thin. The bathroom is clean and has many shower rooms for guests. It is on the first floor, while the toilet is on the third floor, so we have to go down and up from our room on the second floor.

This location was my last of my trip in japan and it left me a very good impression. I got to talk with various types of people and the owner is very friendly too. He is very efficient in the way he manages this hostel and it is admirable. As per usual, hostels in japan really never disappoint, the layout of this hostel is like living in an actual Japanese house remodelled into a co-living space for 10, you can tell from the kitchen and the bathroom, it was clean, very lovely and homey. There is also a very nice nearby park where many locals do their routines like cycling, running, camping. It was very enjoyable to observe the lifestyle there, I also went to the onsen 18 minutes away by walking. I would say this location is a lovely experience especially for understanding a little of the local's every day life. Plus, a great stay to meet all sorts of travellers. And the owner is lovely to talk to, I love it here, I'll come back again if I can! The tomato theme is just part of the appeal! Aesthetic and comfortable, there's a tomato room at lv3 haha he said over 100+ tomato themed collections!

Great location really close to metro station. Everything is neat and tidy. Only thing to note is there will only be a small towel provided. But I was just able to got body dry after my bath. Room can look a bit small but I can actually open my umbrella to dry while still having space to move around a bit. Overall great stay for the price.

YYuHsiang JenI had an amazing stay at this place! The location is extremely convenient—just a 5-minute walk to the subway station. The neighborhood is great too, with convenience stores and supermarkets nearby, making everything easily accessible. The room was very quiet at night, perfect for a good rest. It had all the amenities I needed, including a kitchen for simple cooking and a washing machine for laundry. The host was fantastic—very responsive and quick to address any requests. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my stay. I will definitely choose this place again the next time I visit Osaka!

HHunshiCC 1.0This hotel is perfect for solo travelers visiting Osaka for a shopping spree. The rooms are simple, just right for catching some sleep, but don't expect many amenities – you'll need to bring your own. The lounge area on the first floor is quite spacious, offering a small kitchen, vending machines, washing machines, and free luggage lockers. In Osaka, where hotel prices are skyrocketing, especially with Tennoji right next door making transportation convenient, this place is an absolute steal for the price. Excellent value for money!

IiiilikecccExcellent value for money with a prime location in Namba. It's incredibly convenient for accessing the airport, Kyoto, and Nara, and Dotonbori and Kuromon Market are just a short walk away. The bathroom is traditional and features a natural hot spring bath. There are Chinese-speaking staff at the front desk, making communication very easy.

DDarinDarwishThis was not my first hostel experience, and I have to say, I was a bit disappointed. Let’s start with the positive aspects first: The location was absolutely perfect — I don’t think you could find a better place to stay in Namba. Everything was close by, and getting around was very easy. Also, the staff were extremely, extremely friendly, and we received fresh towels every day, which I really appreciated. Now, onto the things that bothered me: First, the cleanliness: It wasn’t really clean. In the showers, there was always a lot of hair and dirt in the gaps where you enter and exit, which was quite unpleasant. During my stay, someone vomited in the public sink area, and it was not cleaned up overnight — it was still there even at 10 a.m. the next morning. Because of that, the house smelled strongly of vomit for a while. That night, and in general, there was often an unpleasant smell in the kitchen area as well. Without wanting to discriminate, I noticed that many older people were staying at the hostel (since apparently there was no age restriction). Some of them would loudly clear their throats and spit phlegm into the sinks, even early in the morning, which was quite disturbing and unhygienic. Another issue was the temperature: The room was extremely hot at night, and since so many people were sleeping in one room, the air became very stuffy. Even inside your capsule, it was uncomfortably warm. One last point: On the day of arrival, the address on Trip.com was wrong, which made it very hard to find the hostel. It took me almost an hour and a half to find it, especially because it was very hidden with no clear signage outside. I really hope that in the future, there will also be an age limit for guests.

GGuest UserThis place is absolutely amazing! Everything you can make online, super clean and in a very convenient location. It looks just renovate and exactly like in trip photos. The only thing I didn't like was that the only showers for so many people are located on the 1st floor and you have to go up and down with the elevator every time. The price during weekdays is very cheap for Japan
