JJudith AldIt’s a perfect option if your traveling solo, its accessible for the location and the installation and service is good. You need to be aware that you need to be quite in the bedroom area, every bed don’t have big walls to mute the silence, gladly I didn’t have any noisy neighbors on the women dorm so I slept well during my three nights there . Theres a common area for woman and other for everyone . The showers and toilets are shared but in good condition, they give you towels and sleep wear , the location is also good, near to Donbori and to the subway.

AAnonymous UserThe rooms and floors have been renovated, and they are indeed much cleaner and tidier. However, the downside is that none of the doors have locks; instead, you get a wooden sign to hang on the doorknob. This can lead to people accidentally trying to open the wrong door. It's a hassle having to lock my luggage every day or send it downstairs for storage. The wardrobes and desks in the room have been removed. While I can manage without a wardrobe, not having a desk is really inconvenient. The air conditioning in the hallway on my floor wasn't turned on, even though it was below zero degrees. Each room only had a small heater, which was very loud and noisy, making it impossible to keep on all night.
Almost every time I stay on the women-only floor, there are men staying on it, and this time, someone even tried to open the wrong door. I was also asked to pay an extra 500 yen for the specific room I requested at the front desk, which has never happened before. Overall, my experience this time was pretty mediocre.
I also have to complain about the Wi-Fi; it only works in the lobby. I've never been able to connect to it in my room.

1. Room and toilet is clean and amenities are provided. Will not provide picture of the rooms as is exactly like in the picture.
2. Soundproof was actually good as there is a small balcony overseeing train station and I like the view of it.
3. Walking distance, approx 10 mins or more depending on your walking speed to Tsutentaku, Shinsekai or Donki.
4. I highly would like to say “Arigato” and praise the host for responding to all my questions before checking in and during my check-in progress (when I encounter issue). They respond to all my queries on time.
5. The train station located nearby has JR, Metro or Nankai lines, which can bring you directly to Minoh-Kayano Station, Tennoji, Namba, Umeda, Osaka or Kansai Airport. A proper planning is require to take your require train.
Cons:
1. We have 2 medium and 1 small luggages and barely can open full 2 medium luggage despite having a closet. 1 small luggage can be open fully in the middle between the 2 beds but it will block the walking to the balcony (if require to go there).
2. The kitchen and toilet area, gets quite cold during the night and the heater cannot reach that area. Not sure if the floor has a warmer.
3. Despite there is a train station nearby, still require to walk approx. 8 mins above depending on your walking speed. If you are coming with JR train, there were no lift or escalator at the nearby exit to the stay. We had to carry all the luggages down till the exit. However, if you are taking Nankai lines to the airport, then no issue with the luggage as there are 1 lift operating at the nearby entrance.
4. The road at night gets quite lonely and scary if you are walking alone but I believe is alright in Japan.
5. No eateries/restaurants and convenience mart within the 5 mins walk.
Overall, I enjoy my stay here and I always stay at this area during my travel to Osaka due to lesser crowd and convenience to reach airport. One thing to note, do complete all the pre-registration that the host has email you in order for a smooth check-in. Again, I would like to thank the host for the great hospitality and responding to my queries.

AAnonymous UserThis place is incredibly convenient because it’s conveniently located right next to the train stations, making it an ideal base for exploring Osaka and Kyoto. The staff is friendly and the facilities are spotlessly clean. However, I must mention that the towels are quite small. If you’re not particularly fussy about towel size, it’s perfectly fine. But if you have thick and long hair like me, I highly recommend purchasing a towel from Daiso. 👍

Hotel was super clean, tidy but the shower room and toilet was outside the room, located at the ground level, but itsokay, everything was fine ! DDarinDarwishThis was not my first hostel experience, and I have to say, I was a bit disappointed.
Let’s start with the positive aspects first:
The location was absolutely perfect — I don’t think you could find a better place to stay in Namba. Everything was close by, and getting around was very easy.
Also, the staff were extremely, extremely friendly, and we received fresh towels every day, which I really appreciated.
Now, onto the things that bothered me:
First, the cleanliness: It wasn’t really clean. In the showers, there was always a lot of hair and dirt in the gaps where you enter and exit, which was quite unpleasant.
During my stay, someone vomited in the public sink area, and it was not cleaned up overnight — it was still there even at 10 a.m. the next morning. Because of that, the house smelled strongly of vomit for a while.
That night, and in general, there was often an unpleasant smell in the kitchen area as well.
Without wanting to discriminate, I noticed that many older people were staying at the hostel (since apparently there was no age restriction). Some of them would loudly clear their throats and spit phlegm into the sinks, even early in the morning, which was quite disturbing and unhygienic.
Another issue was the temperature: The room was extremely hot at night, and since so many people were sleeping in one room, the air became very stuffy. Even inside your capsule, it was uncomfortably warm.
One last point: On the day of arrival, the address on Trip.com was wrong, which made it very hard to find the hostel. It took me almost an hour and a half to find it, especially because it was very hidden with no clear signage outside.
I really hope that in the future, there will also be an age limit for guests.

It's only a few dozen meters from Exit 8 of Dobutsuen-mae subway station, and about 200m from Shin-Imamiya Station for both JR and Nankai lines. This makes it perfect if you have an Osaka subway pass or a Kansai JR Mini Pass, as you can get from the airport to the hotel by JR or Nankai in under 200m walking. Although the hotel is located in Nishinari Ward, often referred to as Osaka's 'slum area,' I was a bit concerned about safety before arriving. However, the hotel is right next to a main road with a lot of people around, so there's actually no need to worry. I didn't encounter any issues during my stay. I booked a single room with shared bathroom and shower facilities. Despite being shared, they were very clean, and the hotel staff were constantly cleaning them to keep them spotless. The only downside was that the soundproofing wasn't great. If you're on a budget and want a bit of private space, I highly recommend this place – it's much better than many hostels.

FFrom the Moon to MarsStayed at Jakotel Namba and overall it’s a good budget option in a very convenient area. The biggest plus is the location — close to Kuromon Market, Dotonbori, and multiple train lines, so getting around Osaka is easy.
The pods are more spacious than a typical capsule, clean, and comfortable enough for a short stay. Common areas, toilets, and showers were generally well maintained. I also appreciated the simple extras like free tea/coffee and pajamas.
That said, there are a few things to be aware of. The hotel is fully self check-in, which is fine if you’re used to it, but may feel a bit confusing at first and there’s limited staff support. During busy hours, showers and bathrooms can get crowded, and some lockers/locks feel a bit finicky.
Overall, this is a good value-for-money stay if you’re a solo traveler or don’t need full hotel service. Not luxury, but clean, practical, and hard to beat for the location
