"Great short stay here. Beautiful apartments. Very modern, beautiful property. There is a very steep hill up to the accommodation so be ready for a hike if you go out for dinner but it’s well worth the trip. Michael our host was excellent"

Carpe Diem Hotel ★★★★

📍 Ainikolioti, Archanes

"The Carpe Diem is an absolutely charming, small, boutique “hotel” in beautiful, authentic Archanes. I stayed here one night after arriving in Heriklion, and another night before departing. It is a perfect location for needing to get to/from airport, museums and Knossos. Eleni, the owner / host is truly amazing… She was so genuinely kind and welcoming, helped me with taxi transports, directions, and makes an absolutely delicious breakfast spread that is not to be missed! My only regret is that I couldn’t stay longer. The Carpe Diem and Archanes were a highlight of my spectacular first trip to Crete. If you want an authentically beautiful experience of Crete, stay here! You will not regret it."

Manili Boutique Suites & Villas ★★★★★
"Lovely hotel in a lovely little town. Rooms are smaller than expected but perfect size if you are just using it at night and travelling round Crete during the day. Breakfast was great and was always being topped back up so nothing ever ran out."

Carpe Diem Hotel ★★★★
"This is a step above any other place that we have stayed in Greece over the past two weeks. The town is charming as were our hosts. We were close enough to see the archaeological and cultural landmarks in Iraklion and the surrounding area. Our host gave us great advice on how to see them and where to park. We would like to come back to Crete and just stay here as a launching point to see more in the area."

Inotropes Boutique Suites - Adults Only ★★★★
"We stayed with family and friends in the wonderful hotel area consisting of autonomous apartments with a capacity of 2+ people. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine from a well-known Cretan winery, cool water and sweets in each room. Fully equipped kitchen for anyone who wishes to take care of their own meal, since there is a market, bakery and butcher shop very close by. Area with many good dining options if you want to entrust your diet to professionals. The bathroom is comfortable and the water is hot at all hours. Breakfast is served in a specially designed super cozy space, based on Cretan products and is delicious. The construction is luxurious and spotlessly clean, without any fuss. The location is one of the most beautiful in Crete. Hiking in the surrounding area is recommended."

Villa Archanes ★★★★
"We stayed at this unique traditional country-style villa in Archanes-Asterousia for two nights, and it was a wonderful choice. The hotel features a charming inner courtyard that adds to its authentic atmosphere. We arrived from Heraklion International Airport much earlier than the check-in time, but the manager, a young woman named Ieva (apologies if the spelling is incorrect), was incredibly kind and welcomed us without hesitation. She even helped us with our heavy luggage. She first showed us the room we had originally booked, and then offered us the option to upgrade to a larger apartment. We chose the upgraded apartment, which had two spacious separate rooms. Each room was decorated in a traditional country style, with charming small windows that perfectly reflected the authentic character we were looking for. Our apartment was equipped with all the necessary amenities. The hotel is located on a hillside in a small town surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. The town itself is full of pretty cobbled streets, colourful houses with well-tended gardens, and quaint cafés and tavernas. On our first evening, we were lucky enough to have dinner at a small taverna where five local musicians performed traditional live music and singing, creating a truly unforgettable atmosphere. In the morning, we enjoyed a delicious authentic Cretan breakfast with an egg omelet, Greek yogurt, orange juice, and a variety of sweet pastries. At this lovely authentic villa we felt like at home."
