"We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Begeti Bay Hotel in Crete, and I can honestly say it was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable family holidays we’ve had in a long time. What makes this hotel truly special is not just the facilities, but the people. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm, welcoming and personal. It genuinely felt less like staying in a hotel and more like spending a holiday with kind relatives and old friends. The staff create such a friendly environment that you immediately feel at home. The food was excellent throughout our stay. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented and plentiful. As a vegetarian, I especially appreciated the kindness of the kitchen staff, who were always happy to explain which dishes were meat-free and what ingredients they contained. Nothing ever seemed like too much trouble. The restaurant team and bar staff were simply wonderful – always smiling, always friendly, always ready to help. Small gestures made a big difference and made us feel genuinely cared for throughout our stay. The setting is beautiful, especially during dinner. Watching the sun set while enjoying an evening meal created some truly memorable moments. The light, the colours and the peaceful atmosphere were simply magical. The pool area was perfect for our family. The pool itself is not huge, but it felt very safe and comfortable for children. The large, comfortable sunbeds around the pool were a fantastic bonus. My three children absolutely loved spending time there, relaxing, playing and enjoying themselves. As a solo parent travelling with three children, I felt comfortable and relaxed, knowing they were safe and happy. Cleanliness throughout the hotel was excellent. The rooms, restaurant and communal areas were spotless, and the housekeeping team were always friendly and professional. The hotel is located in a quieter area, which we actually loved. There are shops, restaurants and other hotels nearby, and the walk along the seafront is pleasant and easy. We rented a car during our stay, which I would highly recommend. The hotel’s central location on the island makes it an excellent base for exploring both sides of Crete. We enjoyed visiting Chania, Heraklion and many beautiful beaches while returning each evening to the comfort and calm of the hotel. We rarely return to the same place twice because we love exploring new destinations, but Begeti Bay has become one of those rare exceptions. We are already wondering whether we might come back again one day. Thank you to every member of staff for making our holiday so special. "The hotel’s concept with various rooms in a beautifully restored old village is beautiful. The grounds and various buildings are quaint and very well done. Very high end. Service is excellent. The setting is quiet and serene. However during our 6-night stay there were at least one family every day with small children who are just being children, but their constant tantrums disrupt the peace and quiet for all the other guests, who are without exception adult couples, undoubtedly here for the same reason we were - to relax in the magical peaceful setting. Forget the pool if the kiddies are there - constant noise, crying, and commotion. Why is this hotel not an adults only hotel????? We would gladly pay a bit more for that. My other comment is about the dinners here. They are trying too hard to be a foodie destination but IMHO they missed the mark. The food is just ok and it is very expensive - about twice the price as just about any other of the many restaurants we visited over several weeks on Crete. Not worth it. They should stick with some more traditional food, or at least offer options, and lower their prices. We ended up going out somewhere else every night for dinner for great food at half the price. However I must add that the included breakfast spread was over the top great. Just fix the dinner menu."

"The food was genuinely delicious — far better than we expected from a hotel buffet! We know that hotel food in Greece isn’t always the highlight of the stay, but here it really stood out. Thanks to Chef Fotis, the buffet meals were consistently tasty, fresh, and well-prepared. You can really see his skill and passion in the way the dishes were made. If the hotel keeps Chef Fotis, we’d gladly choose the all-inclusive option again — which we usually avoid elsewhere. The hotel also has a great location, right by the sea, with direct access to the beach. The air conditioning in every room worked perfectly, which was a big plus during the hot days. The staff were very friendly and responsive throughout our stay."

"Spent 6 nights here and definitely plan to return. Is a small complex but when booking in they still took time and walked us round to show us the place. Pool was lovely and warm and beach was right next to it with plenty of sun beds and a great sunset view. The sea is nice but has some shingles as you get in and uneven clay beds under water so worth wearing shoes in the sea. Bar food was pretty decent, portion sizes are big and we shared most meals. Prices aren’t bad for a hotel and you can charge everything and pay at the end. Staff are fantastic, including the manager! All take the time to chat and can’t do enough for you. Rooms are fairly basic but do the job, we paid extra for AC in the bedroom and a safe which was about €10/night. Think it’s the first year under new owners and you can see they have spent on the oil and restaurant areas, believe they are upgrading rooms next. Highly recommend it here"

Rooms are lovely and clean Food is delicious Had 11 fab nights here The music at the bar is just at the right volume and a lovely mix I shall definitely be visiting again even if it’s a quick “beach break” of 4 days LOVED IT"

"We stopped in Rethymno for a few days while holidaying in Crete . Whilst the beaches weren’t the best in Crete the resort was unbelievable . The fitout is so classy the gardens are so amazing and the pool is very special. The interior decorations are classic style but so fresh . Thanks to Ioanna and Elleni who were our customer service leads were beyond helpful. All other staff we encountered were of a world class standard. Well done Greco Hotels Another benefit if you don’t feel like going to the old town there is an amazing taverna accross the road called Levantes. Family run and the food is great"
