"The hotel's selling point, the open buffet, was very satisfying both in the morning and evening. We were able to eat locally produced food from a variety of regions, and it was nice and different from the usual hotel buffets. Also, the head chef's hard work to liven things up was very impressive and I liked it. Please keep up the good work (^^) Although the hotel itself is old, the main areas such as the guest rooms, baths, and dining areas have basically been renovated, so it's nice that it's new and clean, and I don't mind the aging."

"◆Room-only plan used◆ My mother, her two daughters, and I stayed together (4 people total). The unmanned check-in process was smooth. The entrance was beautiful, and the room was lovely. The bath was fantastic, with 24-hour free-flowing hot spring water! For meals, there's an alley right in front of the hotel with about 10 restaurants, so we had no trouble finding places to eat. When we returned from dinner, the staff were cleaning the entrance, and we appreciate that they kept it clean even late at night. We would like to use this hotel again next time."

"We stayed with our family of four. The meals were delicious every day. The white rice was also very tasty, and the menu changed every day. It's a bit disappointing that Wi-Fi is only available in the lobby. Also, the baths are not natural hot springs. I haven't stayed at other ryokans to compare, so I can't say for sure, but if you want to enjoy Japanese food for breakfast and dinner and stay at a ryokan, I think it's a good choice. Another good thing about this ryokan is that there are baths in the rooms, and there are baths in addition to the large communal bath."

"The biggest highlight of choosing this hot spring hotel is the large lake outside, and the view from the room is beautiful! Avoiding weekends and holidays was so great! An evening stroll along the lake was incredibly relaxing and refreshing; the hillside to the right and the hydrangeas along the roadside were gorgeous 😍. There weren't many people when we went, and the hot spring was great. In the evening, it was just the two of us soaking in the second-floor hot spring, and in the morning, it was also just the two of us in the semi-open-air first-floor one – so happy! Dinner and breakfast were also quite delicious. The only downside is that it's a bit far from the station; a taxi from the hotel to Awara Station cost 2900 yen, which was reasonable. Overall, a great experience!"

"Is it Taisho-era retro? Or Showa-era retro? This inn is quiet, relaxing, and has a great atmosphere. I was glad the hot springs were empty. The souvenir shop inside the inn has a good selection and good taste. I was able to enjoy a leisurely dinner and breakfast, and I was full. I also received a discount coupon for Tojinbo Tower, so I went up the tower."

"We stayed at this hotel during a family trip to Fukui. It's a well-established, well-known inn in Awara Onsen. It boasts a variety of open-air baths, including the "Sen no Koboreyu" (Sen's Overflowing Bath), the largest in the Hokuriku region, with a combined men's and women's bath of 1,600 sq. meters, and the "Hyakuhyaku no Yu" (Hyakuhyaku no Yu), but it has a somewhat Showa-era bubble-era atmosphere that makes it a little unsettling. It's understandable given our large group of six, but it's not the type of hotel I would normally choose for a solo trip. The 10-tatami Japanese-style room was clean but traditional, and not particularly user-friendly. Dinner focused on seafood, including a fresh fish boat platter and grilled abalone. Nothing particularly special, but everything was delicious. The hot spring itself was spacious and clean, and not bad. However, I was annoyed by the loud chatter from the drunk group. Awara Onsen seems to have suddenly become famous since the Hokuriku Shinkansen opened, but I was surprised to find it isolated on flat land near the city center, completely lacking the typical hot spring atmosphere."
