"I traveled to Bipenggou alone with my three-year-old for spring break and booked the Mushan Hotel. Even before I got out of the car, a lovely lady came over to greet us and helped us with our luggage into the hotel. My little one was fumbling with shoes and clothes, making quite a fuss, but the staff member was incredibly patient. When I checked in, they saw I had a child and upgraded us to a family room, which was a thoughtful touch.
The hotel has a distinct style, and the pictures accurately reflect the actual rooms. Each room even has a dedicated service chat group, so you can communicate any issues directly. The complimentary Tibetan-style photos turned out beautifully. Since it was windy on the mountain, we had dinner at the hotel to avoid taking my child out. I ordered a mushroom hot pot; it looked like just a soup base, but it had plenty of mushrooms and tasted great. The room had a spacious bathtub/soaking tub, and the hotel also has an outdoor hot tub (it's not very big, and the water wasn't super hot, mainly because of the strong winds on the mountain; it's probably best for a soak during the day, as it might get a bit cold at night). Nevertheless, my little one was thrilled and had three baths that day! The welcome fruit was presented in a gift box, and while the mini-bar drinks weren't top brands, they were all complimentary.
I found the breakfast quite substantial, with both Chinese and Western options. You can eat your fill before heading out to hike in the scenic area. All the hotel staff were very polite and friendly, and they paid great attention to details. For instance, the smart lighting control for the entire room: a single button turn-off really turned off every light! (Maybe I'm easily impressed, but in many hotels I've stayed in before, you'd turn off the main light, and then have to figure out how to switch off all sorts of other odd lights. This one-touch turn-off really moved me.) I would definitely book this hotel again if I return."

"For our two-day trip to Lixian, we chose to stay at Xiangjiagazong Luxury Scenic Resort, drawn by its stunning scenery and numerous positive reviews. To start with, my conclusion is: while the hardware (facilities) is indeed excellent, the soft services don't quite match the price.
The hotel is located halfway up the mountain; you need to take a detour from the main road to reach it, so driving is more convenient. It provides two small parking areas and EV charging stations. Both the views and room facilities are exactly as advertised: clean, tidy, high-quality, and clearly designed with great thought and expense. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer direct views of the lush mountains, and the morning mist creates a truly breathtaking scene. Breakfast was generous, served à la carte (not buffet-style) directly by staff, which was a pleasant experience.
However, the service left much to be desired. On arrival day, I contacted the front desk for luggage assistance, but after a long wait, no one showed up, so I had to carry my bags uphill myself. During check-in, there was no dedicated staff member; an auntie who also handles cleaning duties processed our check-in. The so-called ”butler” service wasn't via WeChat but a regular phone call, and their explanation of nearby walkable attractions was unclear, which was a bit awkward. On the first night, I felt a bit unwell and contacted the butler for cold medicine or altitude sickness medication. Unfortunately, these were not readily available, and we had to purchase an oxygen tank at our own expense. The ”Xiaodu” voice assistant in the room seemed smart but didn't genuinely integrate with the room facilities. The scenic cafe on the 4th floor had beautiful views, but on both occasions we went up, there were no staff, just an empty room.
We didn't encounter the ”warm and hospitable owner” mentioned in many reviews; the owner never appeared throughout our stay, and there was a noticeable lack of a welcoming atmosphere. Overall, the hotel's hardware and scenery are indeed impeccable, making it a great place for photos and relaxation. However, the service experience and attention to detail fell short. The price, several times higher than neighboring hotels, didn't reflect a corresponding value in service. If you're coming purely for the scenery, it's worth a try, but if you're seeking a high-quality, comprehensive experience, you might be slightly disappointed."

Ambiance & Space: I was pleasantly surprised the moment I stepped into the room! The space was so generous it didn't feel like the 'exquisite' smallness of a guesthouse; instead, it had a relaxed, homey feel. The natural light was absolutely fantastic; pulling back the curtains during the day made the whole room bright and airy, completely free of the stuffiness often found in traditional B&Bs. I could happily spend an entire afternoon there.
Bedding Experience: I have to rave about the bed! It was so soft, like sinking into a cloud, and the bedding felt very luxurious. Lying down, all my travel fatigue instantly melted away. Who understands the joy of sleeping soundly until morning!
Smart & Network: As a drama-watching enthusiast, I was thrilled! The Wi-Fi speed was incredibly fast, perfect for streaming high-definition shows or having video conferences without any lag. The room price was also very reasonable, offering great value for money! This hotel truly embodies a sense of 'everyday life' – that's my review."

"We originally planned to stay in Bipenggou, but there was a power outage due to heavy snow. The owner of the B&B recommended several hotels in the county town to us, so we chose this one. The hotel opened a few years ago. It is well maintained, the breakfast is delicious, the boss is very enthusiastic, the service is very good, and the price-performance ratio is very high. "I have to give this hotel a big thumbs up! The environment is elegant, the decoration is exquisite and unique, the room is clean and tidy, and it is right under the Bipenggou Scenic Area. The snow scenery outside the window is beautiful, and the proprietress will pick us up to the Bipenggou Scenic Area. The food is also very delicious and rich in variety. I didn't expect that the best stir-fried beef we had in Sichuan was here. It was a bit of a surprise. The waiter was also very enthusiastic and introduced us to the attractions and travel guide. What I am most grateful for is that we had altitude sickness after going to Bipenggou. The proprietress was very enthusiastic to take me to the pharmacy, and also cooked green vegetable and lean meat porridge and sent it to the room. She always cared about our situation, which made me feel warm like going home. I will choose this place again if I have the opportunity to come and play next time!"

"This is my favorite B&B in recent years! It's hard to believe how meticulously Dr. Chen manages this place. Upon entering the stone steps, I was struck by its exquisiteness. But as he launched into a torrent of historical exposition about the B&B's cultural philosophy, my hands and my mindless historical knowledge seemed to drift apart. It felt like a history teacher lecturing, or a classmate excitedly presenting a topic they were proud of. The room featured chairs from the early Tang Dynasty, a room restored to the governor's specifications, a rare Sui Dynasty landscape-themed sitting area with a backrest, multiple altars, bedside tables, Shu brocade bedspreads, beaded and knotted curtains, and a camel-shaped structure. It all felt like a cultural journey along the Henan Route of the Silk Road. I'm so grateful to Dr. Chen for his thoughtful instruction! So, you can imagine how well-equipped the room was! Upon arrival, we discovered there were only two such small villas. We booked early and secured the best room with a panoramic mountain view. Our governor, after checking in, was reluctant to leave the B&B, saying it was beautiful enough and he didn't want to wander around anymore! Speaking of dining, honestly, we ate at Yak Copper Pot almost every day for the first half of our trip. Dr. Chen arranged for us to enjoy local wild vegetables, stir-fried mushrooms, and twice-cooked pork. Every meal was delicious. Later, I learned that the entire B&B is run by Dr. Chen and his parents. He cleans the rooms himself, fearing he might damage the cultural heritage. Aunt Chen also cooks the meals. The entire B&B is still being refined with every detail. I don't know how to express my respect for Dr. Chen, but I can only share this detailed recommendation with those who are willing to read the reviews. This place is not only beautiful, but also peaceful and tranquil. In this complex and fast-paced world, why not come to Weizhou Bieye for a two-day break? Support the craftsmanship! GGuest UserEnvironment: The facilities are new and very clean. They also provide plenty of disposable amenities, which is thoughtful. It feels more meticulous than hotels in many cities.
Service: The housekeeper and Aunt Yang were incredibly hospitable. They immediately came down to help with our things as soon as we got out of the car and upgraded our room for free! They even gave us a small gift and an oxygen tank before we left. The night before our trip, we went to the restaurant at the owner's other hot spring hotel; the portions were huge and the food was delicious! Highly recommended, it's less than a 5-minute drive from the guesthouse.
Breakfast: Absolutely fantastic!
It was a very good experience and left a great impression on my friends from Guangdong. I highly recommend staying here in Bipenggou! 👍

YYeliangAfter exploring the icy wonderland of Bipenggou, arriving in Gurgou felt like time suddenly slowed down. Zhuodi Kangqin is probably the most charming guesthouse I've ever stayed at along the Sichuan-Tibet line.
Soaking in the private outdoor hot spring, watching the mountain breeze sweep through the forest, as the spring mist slowly rises, the air on the plateau is crisp and clear. In that moment, the snow-capped mountains, the hot spring, and time itself all seemed to decelerate.
But what truly amazed me was the dining experience.
Having visited many places like Lhasa, Kangding, and Shangri-La, I already have a fondness for ******* cuisine. Yet, I never expected to find what might be the best ******* fusion food on the Sichuan-Tibet line in the relatively lesser-known Gurgou.
The cuisine here is based on local plateau ingredients but incorporates global cooking techniques. The robust wild flavors are elevated with a rare touch of refinement and ease.
The hand-grabbed lamb chops had virtually no ***** smell, and the meat was incredibly tender. The ******* pork belly (huiguorou) was rich and aromatic. Yak yogurt with honey, and the delightful surprise of popping boba-like pearls. The oxtail and morel mushroom soup was the most comforting solace on a high-altitude night.
Even the most traditional tsampa was beautifully presented, adorned with a tiny logo.
As night fell, the private hot spring steamed, and the special cocktails started to take effect. The owner, like a ninja, quietly appeared in every corner, then vanished among the shadows.
Many remember the Sichuan-Tibet line for its snow-capped mountains. But Zhuodi Kangqin in Gurgou makes you remember a different kind of plateau.
The snow is still on the mountains, but life here is already so warm.

Ffbi489The homestay has to walk a steep mountain road, which will test the car skills. The location is halfway up the mountain. If the weather is good, you can see the snow-capped mountains on the opposite side. On the same day, I caught up with the power outage in the village and the call came after nine o'clock. Dinner was solved at the homestay. The store’s craftsmanship was very good. It was very fragrant to fried two dishes in the dark. The house is a typical Tibetan style, and the interior decoration is American country style, suitable for people who like quiet. It would be better if the price is cheaper.

They went above and beyond to accommodate our every need. Our room was incredibly spacious, bright, and spotlessly clean. The beef offal hot pot *must* be highlighted! It was absolutely divine! The broth was rich and flavorful, the beef offal fresh and meticulously clean, and the portions were generous. The taste was incredibly authentic.
