"Our stay was amazing! The room was very spacious, comfortable, and super clean. Everything was well-maintained and made us feel very comfortable throughout the trip. We also got exactly the same room as advertised,the room looked exactly like the photos shown in the listing, which we really appreciated.
The location is also great,walking distance to both Taipei Main Station and Ximending, which made it very convenient for us to travel around. There are also halal food places nearby, which was a big plus for Muslim travellers. Overall, highly recommended and definitely one of the best places we’ve stayed!"

"Paid price in this location is a good value… I spent most time in the shopping malls nearby without any taxi or train or bus.
Other than one bottle of shampoo and one bottle of shower gel, nothing else can be found in the toilet, so bring your own hand soup if u don’t want to step into shower room for it.
Sound proofing between rooms and floors is not good.
A scale is available in lobby for repacking etc if needed.
I will consider returning for similar value paid."

"The hotel staff gave us a warm welcome. We arrived before the check‑in time, but they kindly allowed us to leave our luggage at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and offered great recommendations for sightseeing and dining.
We stayed in a family room for three people, and the space was more than enough for us. The room was clean and well-equipped with everything we needed. The location is also great—not right in the middle of Ximending, but slightly away from the busy area, so it’s quieter and more relaxing.
Overall, a very pleasant stay!"

Someone may feel it old, but I do enjoy staying in a hotel which was decently built.
Price is not high for its location to Tube station, but not too bad, just ten minutes walk.
I recommand this hotel to everyone , especial for a leisure trip for several days.

My room didn't have a window, and in a twin room, only one bed had a bedside light switch, and neither had power outlets at the headboard, which was quite inconvenient."

Located in the Xinyi district, just only 5 minutes can arrive Taipei 101 and night market, besides, 45 minutes from Taoyuan Airport, and 20 minutes from Taipei Songshan Airport.
The facilities in each room with many international socket. Whatever you want to do, searching, watching films, updating or downloading document, it will nor be a problem.
"Great location with walkable distance to the underground station (5min walk). The Taipei 101 and world trade centre is close by. The room is clean and tidy, no smell or mould. The room is generally good for sound proofing. Good water pressure and hot shower. The only complaint is that the pillows are very soft and flat. Only because of this we would not consider booking in again."

"“We were happy during our stay in this hotel. Aside from being very cheap, it’s also clean. Its appearance is just like a normal hotel, not fancy, but what’s important is that it’s clean. What we liked most about this hotel is that it’s close to everything. It’s near the main station, and there’s a 7/11 and Family Mart right across, plus a Starbucks and even a nearby night market. There are many places to eat, and there’s also a supermarket next to it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this hotel because it has a great location."

JJayjeejayThe hotel is very professional, nice and clean. The staff is all attentive. The location is just a couple minutes from metro and 5 mins from hip area, Zhongshan, and in walkable distance from the famous night market. Will definitely be back when going to Taipei again.

GGuest UserThe staff were incredibly warm and responsible, providing thoughtful service. The room was odor-free and very clean. There was sparkling water and drinking water available in the public areas, and the mini-bar was a welcome sight after a late check-in. Breakfast was a semi-buffet, with slight changes to the self-service options daily, making for a pleasant dining experience. The hotel is close to the subway station, which makes getting to attractions very convenient. The subway station also has drugstores where you can buy many things, and there are 7-Eleven and other convenience stores nearby, making daily life very convenient. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my stay.

AAkaixWas hesitant before booking this hotel as Japanese hotel rooms are generally smaller than usual as compared to taiwan local hotels.
To my surprise, it was quite spacious! Able to open up my luggage fully on the floor without obstruction and a sofa area to chill.
TV was okay with alot of ********* channels but had some issues connecting my netflix despite following the on screen instructions.
Overall it was a positive experience! Will visit again!

GGuest UserExcellent and very friendly service throughout my entire stay from doorman to concierge to front desk to housekeeping to restaurant to gym. Great location next to Shandao temple MRT and within walking distance to Taipei station, nice restaurants, cafes and the famed Fuhang soy milk. I also enjoyed the excellent lunch buffer at the hotel restaurant Kitchen 12 at incredibly reasonable price. But please note that Marriott Bonvoy platinum elite or higher tier members do not receive the usual executive lounge access or free breakfast if you book via Trip.com (you need to book directly with Marriott to enjoy the benefits).

GGuest User1. Misleading Entrance Signage
Upon arrival, we followed the signage pasted on a pillar that directed guests to a staircase entrance. However, when we reached that entrance, we were shocked to find the door marked with the sign “来宾止步” (“Guests Stop Here”). When we raised this with your staff, we were told that this entrance has not been in use since the COVID-19 period. While we understand that certain operations may have changed during the pandemic, COVID-19 restrictions have ended for more than two years. If the primary entrance has been permanently closed, why has no corrective action been taken and the misleading signage still left there? Carrying heavy luggage up and down a sloped path unnecessarily was frustrating and avoidable.
2. No Staff Assistance or Clear Signage at the New Entrance
When we finally located the new entrance, there were no staff members on standby to assist us, nor was there any clear external signage indicating that this was the correct way to access the lobby. The explanation given later was that all staff were away assisting with parking which is not acceptable. At least one person should have been assigned to remain at the entrance, or the last person leaving should have arranged for another colleague to cover the position. In addition, the Operations Director mentioned that there is signage inside the new entrance directing guests to take the elevator to the lobby. However, this logic is flawed. If guests cannot locate the correct entrance in the first place, how could they possibly see a sign placed inside?
3. Poorly Trained and Unprofessional Front Desk Behavior
After struggling outside, we called the number listed on Google. Only then did someone finally come out and lead us in. By that time, we were exhausted and upset. When we confronted the front desk staff about why they ignored us, despite us clearly visible outside the “来宾止步” glass door, making eye contact and knocking for help, but they claimed they “did not see us.” This excuse was clearly untrue, as we observed them looking in our direction. Even more disappointing, none of the front desk staff offered an apology even until we requested to speak to the Operations Director and asked him to review the CCTV footage. After reviewing the footage, the Operations Director confirmed that the front desk had not been alert and apologized on their behalf. However, he did not acknowledge that the front desk’s attitude and lack of sincerity were also serious problems. Being “not alert enough” and showing no sense of apology or empathy are two entirely different issues.
As an international hotel, the front desk is the first impression of your service. Regardless of the quality of your facilities, this poor experience completely overshadowed the positive aspects of our stay. It also severely damages the reputation of Kagaya Group — a brand that has long been admired for its exemplary Japanese hospitality and politeness. Although we appreciate the Operations Director’s effort to make amends by offering us a meal and gifts (which we declined), it remains undeniable that this incident reflects a failure in staff training and management oversight.
We hope that management will seriously review this incident, especially the issues of:
- Inadequate and misleading signage at the entrance
- Lack of staff presence and assistance upon guest arrival
- Poor front desk awareness and unprofessional behavior
We trust that Kagaya Group will uphold its proud tradition of service by addressing these problems promptly and ensuring no other guests experience such treatment in the future.

GGuest UserThis hotel is directly opposite the South 3 exit of Taipei Main Station. If you have luggage, I recommend using the ground level exit as it's very easy to find. The Z8 exit provides direct access to the underground mall, which is super convenient for food, shopping, and transportation. The hotel automatically upgraded our room, and we had a view of Taipei Main Station and Taipei 101. The room was spacious and comfortable, with enough room for three to four large suitcases. The double sinks were also very convenient, and there was a big bathtub. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. On the 4th floor, the lobby has a snack area, kids' facilities, and offers snacks and drinks.

The place itself is clean, cozy, and well-maintained. The rooms are simple but comfortable, and the common areas are nice if you want to relax or meet other travelers. What stood out the most was how accommodating and friendly the staff were—they’re always ready to help with directions, recommendations, or anything you need.
As a female solo traveler, safety and comfort are everything, and Main Inn definitely delivered. It has a welcoming vibe that makes you feel at home while still being budget-friendly.

MMofaguguThe industrial-style decor seems to fit the vibe of Ximending's old buildings, and the vintage Western items are perfectly placed. However, I wasn't a fan of the sky lantern decorations. Breakfast was hot pot every day, and after three days, it was a bit much. I think some Western breakfast options would be good, as I noticed some Western guests seemed to find it a bit odd. This hotel is probably one of the best choices for shoppers and travelers using the MRT.

GGuest UserHotel location was great! Didn’t provide amenities like toothbrush/toothpaste comb but this info was stately online already so we brought our own, no issue.
Nearby have convenience store, v near train station (ximen exit 5). The room for us was perfect, only the bathtub mat was abit moldy - it’s removable so just don’t use it. Otherwise we were happy with everything else & believe we got a room update as there was window inkjet room.
Toilet bidet was very good, keeps the seat warm all the time. Bed was comfortable and we had good night rest.
