Nearby is the path to the waterfall and connections to hiking paths.Marion, NC is picturesque and was recently voted by Travel & Leisure magazine as the #1 area to purchase a vacation property.Hiking and creek access on site, this property backs up to the Pisgah National Forest.You will be immersed in nature. There are 90 acres of forest with walking or biking trails that tie into Pisgah National Forest. Feel free to hike or bike up to the covered picnic area or waterfall on the property. Native Western North Carolina 'lightning bugs' will twinkle in the summer nights as you hear the call of whippoorwills from the porch. Western North Carolina fall is a highlight of life as vibrant leaf colors take over the landscape and the crisp cool mornings and evenings provide the perfect temperature for sitting around a fire with a cup of hot coffee. There is a trail below the cabin (stay straight after you pass through the gate). You will pass our future fish pond and if you walk up the road stay to the right and it will take you to the Pavilion area. You can also walk to the Pavilion from the cabin by continuing straight up the hill instead of turning to the cabin. Pavilion is at top. This wooded property does have yellow jackets and other woodland creatures so use caution. Hiking is at your own risk. Bear mace is provided in cabin.*Driveway to cabin is a gravel road. 4WD or all wheel drive recommended. There is 2wd parking spots available with a short walk to the cabin. There is a queen bed and queen sofa bed for extra space. Your cabin is located at the end of a quiet gravel road on a small pond with thousands of acres of peaceful wooded mountains at it's doorstep! And yes, there is WiFi, air conditioning, heat, a woodstove, firepit, and hiking trails! The cabin has an extremely comfortable, luxury, full sized bed with freshly cleaned sheets and comforter set. You may access the loft by climbing the rolling library-style ladder where you will find 2 twin-sized mattresses with fresh linens and blankets. The living room is beautifully and warmly lit and includes a fully functional wood burning stove, tv, DVD player with DVDs, a bookshelf with books, 2 large, comfortable chairs, rechargeable dimmable candles and a huge window for viewing the great outdoors. The kitchen is fully functional with a refrigerator, freezer, stove, oven, pots, pans, plates, silverware, utensils, a Keurig coffee maker, microwave, table, and everything you might need to cook. We include K-cups for your stay. We supply dish soap, wash cloths, and towels, salt and pepper, sugar, coffee creamer, and more. The cabin has a full-sized bathroom with flushing toilet, large stand-up shower, sink, towels and washcloths, toilet paper, hand soap, first-aid kit, bathroom spray, cleaning spray, and more! Outside you have a fire ring where you can sit and enjoy the evenings or cook over and open flame. There is a picnic table and chairs included. The pond has fish in it and you may feed them.
