Our gated community is entirely paved so you will not need an all-wheel or four-wheel drive car. The oversized driveway is not steep and can easily accommodate up to 8 cars. Diamond Ridge is truly a unique mountain retreat that you never need to leave. Because of its one-of-a-kind location, there are literally 360-degree views from the oversized windows and expansive decks. There are spectacular views of Mt. Mitchell, Grandfather Mountain, Chimney Rock, Linville Gorge, Lake Lure and Hickory Nut Gorge to name a few. Being so close to the Pisgah National Forest, you have access to numerous hiking trails inside and outside of Catawba Falls Preserve. There are countless hiking trails, streams, rivers and waterfalls nearby. The most common animals that you may encounter while out and about are deer, wild turkeys, rabbits and birds that span the colors of the rainbow. At Diamond Ridge, you will feel a million miles away, but you are minutes from the cultural conveniences of Asheville & Black Mountain. All linens, blankets and towels are provided and we have an extra large Washer & Dryer for your use. We also have hair dryers for your use while visiting. The custom made (from reclaimed bowling alley lanes) dinning table really seats 16, there are 3 stools for seating at the kitchen bar and extra chairs and tables if needed for family gatherings. Steps from the cabin is a shed that has firewood for your use in the winter months. For outdoor grilling, we have a propane gas BBQ grill for you to use. SMART TV'S in all areas and bedrooms with unlimited YouTubeTV with tons of local and cable channels, and all the apps you expect, that you can access with your login/pw to use. There are Flat Screen TVs located in the family room, the lower level recreation area and ALL 5 Master Suites. The Wi-Fi Internet is provided through Sky Runner and works great for surfing the web, checking emails, and streaming. The house has a landline for unlimited U.S. telephone calls. Cell service depends on your carrier, but Verizon cellular service works best for mobile phones. We also have an outdoor gas fire table.PET POLICY: Up to 2 well behaved dogs MAX. We still love living in Asheville, but we wanted a mountain escape that our family could enjoy from time to time. After years of searching we found the perfect Mountain Top site to build our dream vacation and eventual retirement home that is in a gated community with paved roads and some of the most breathtaking views in North Carolina. The best part was that is less than 30 minutes to Asheville. So in 2018 we built the most amazing log cabin vacation home in the perfect spot with 360 degree views as far as the eye can see. Your cabin is located at the end of a quiet gravel road on a small pond with thousands of acres of peaceful wooded mountains at it's doorstep! And yes, there is WiFi, air conditioning, heat, a woodstove, firepit, and hiking trails! The cabin has an extremely comfortable, luxury, full sized bed with freshly cleaned sheets and comforter set. You may access the loft by climbing the rolling library-style ladder where you will find 2 twin-sized mattresses with fresh linens and blankets. The living room is beautifully and warmly lit and includes a fully functional wood burning stove, tv, DVD player with DVDs, a bookshelf with books, 2 large, comfortable chairs, rechargeable dimmable candles and a huge window for viewing the great outdoors. The kitchen is fully functional with a refrigerator, freezer, stove, oven, pots, pans, plates, silverware, utensils, a Keurig coffee maker, microwave, table, and everything you might need to cook. We include K-cups for your stay. We supply dish soap, wash cloths, and towels, salt and pepper, sugar, coffee creamer, and more. The cabin has a full-sized bathroom with flushing toilet, large stand-up shower, sink, towels and washcloths, toilet paper, hand soap, first-aid kit, bathroom spray, cleaning spray, and more! Outside you have a fire ring where you can sit and enjoy the evenings or cook over and open flame. There is a picnic table and chairs included. The pond has fish in it and you may feed them. The property has many hiking trails that lead to interesting places like rock outcroppings, caves and waterfalls! The cabin is private and secluded. You will have the whole place to yourself.
