This property is located in the heart of Alta in a quiet wooded setting. It is a great base for hiking, fishing and skiing in the Tahoe basin. It is 30 minutes from Boreal Ski resort and 45 min from Truckee. We have a huge deck with a BBQ, great for relaxing while having a cup of coffee, or just visiting with family and friends. Plenty of room around the property for the kids and a fire pit to enjoy at night. There is also access to a community pool in Dutch Flat 5 minutes away. This cabin was built in 2010 as my parents summer home and has all the comfort and conveniences. Owners live on site in the separate main house. Whether it’s snow season or lake days, this is your all-seasons basecamp for adventure and connection. Max Occupancy: 10 adults, 15 total.The Space: An entry area, family/TV room , living room, 4 bedrooms, each with King bed and an adjacent or ensuite bath, And a game room with a ping pong table. The 4th BR has a short hallway to a 2nd sleeping alcove with Queen bed. Since there is no door, we do not count it as a 5th BR, but the two sleeping areas are separated by a full bathroom, which they share. There is a large office space over the 2-car garage, a small sun room and a small South-facing deck, and an extensive back deck/patio with several seating pods and 2 large barbecue grills which provides terrific outdoor living in summer. The deck/patio backs up to open forest, allowing for significant hiking options right from the back yard. This clean comfortable off the grid family cabin in the woods is the perfect Tahoe National Forest escape (on the west side of Tahoe National Forest about 1.5 hours away from Truckee and 1.75 hours from Lake Tahoe). Enjoy grilling during summer months or staying warm by the wood burning stove on snowy winter nights. We have a variety of games, puzzles, books, & DVDs for your entertainment. With nearby trails, dirt bike riding, lakes, hunting and shooting areas this cabin is a great home base for all your mountain adventures year round. Open floor plan with 2 bedrooms and a third room that can be used as a private bedroom or a family room. There is one bathroom in the cabin and one in a little room that is accessible from outside for muddy boots, fish and all the messy stuff that comes with fun. This cabin does not have electric service so it runs off a propane fired generator. This cabin is off-grid but you will have every modern convenience you have become accustomed to including internet (DSL) and cell phone service (when connected to the internet).The kitchen has a Keurig machine as well as a 12-cup coffee maker. We have supplied Day-1 coffee for the 12-cup coffee maker with powdered creamer and sugar cubes but please bring your own Keurig Coffee and additional supplies.For your convenience, we have absorbed the Transient Taxes and Cleaning Fees into the daily rental so you know exactly what we are charging. I am sorry, I have not control over VRBO fees.We have 2 security camaras, one at the front door facing the entry and parking area and one on the shed facing the front yard area. We ask that guests disconnect the camaras upon arrival for their privacy and to not drive us crazy with notifications. Recently remodeled and professionally-designed mid-century modern cabin in the BEST Tahoe City location on the edge of Paige Meadows & National Forest CLOSE to Palisades/Squaw/Alpine, Homewood etc. .You can cross country ski, snowshoe or hike out the back door across the greenbelt to the Granlibakken nordic trail system. We are also just minutes from Tahoe City, Palisades/Squaw/Alpine and the lake. Gorgeous windows, a deck and Hot Tub in the forest bring nature in at every angle.Experience our serene, cozy cabin and you will never want to leave!You’ll have the entire cabin to yourself (1,213 square feet) including 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, kitchen, dining, and living spaces. There is also a dedicated office nook in the second bedroom with a printer, Zoom light and lightning-fast WiFi. Outdoor deck with gas bbq, hot tub, dining table, and outdoor sofa and lounge chairs! House is set on greenbelt and forested conservancy lot with tons of room to play!The bathrooms are currently "vintage Tahoe style," but sparkling clean with fluffy white towels. They will be undergoing a full remodel in 2023 and photos will updated accordingly.PARKING:1 spot in the garage - should fit a regular SUV like a Toyota Highlander without a roof box.2 spots in the driveway.There is no street parking allowed during the winter. Please keep an eye out for the driveway plow - they come early - to move vehicles to allow for full driveway clearing. SECURITY CAMERAS:We have 24/7 video/audio security cameras on the exterior of property. They are located at the front driveway (facing the driveway but not showing front stairs) and back deck (facing our back deck, does NOT have a view of the hot tub or inside the house). These are security cameras focused on the entryways to monitor bears and packages and designed to maintain privacy while enjoying our home. You may request to disable the back deck camera during your stay.GUESTS: Only the guests on the confirmed Airbnb reservation are allowed on the property and in the cabin. Extra guests must be approved by owners in advance of the reservation and are subject to additional fees.NO PETS:We are NOT pet-friendly. If we find any evidence of pets in the home, you will lose your security deposit and possibly incur additional cleaning fees. BEAR WIRE:There are bears in Lake Tahoe and we have electric bear wire around the property to avoid break-ins. You’ll see electric wires at the windows and doors. Instructions to turn off the bear wire will be provided in your welcome letter.CLEANING FEE: The cleaning fee covers normal turnover cleaning (e.g. bedding and laundry turn over, surfaces, floors, snow removal, etc.). Additional cleaning fees may be incurred for excessive mess (e.g. excessive dishes, melted snow or mud inside or carpet stains, etc)WINTER SNOW SEASON: During the winter snow season the West Shore of Lake Tahoe can see a very large snow accumulation. 4 wheel drive vehicles are highly recommended. We have a driveway plow service that comes every snowfall (of 6 inches or more) to clear the driveway. Please note that snowfall can continue to accumulate between clearing service and your arrival. We do provide shovels for your use if necessary. If heavy snowfall happens during your stay and additional shoveling help is necessary, please give us a call and we may be able to arrange some assistance for an extra fee. Due to heavy snow accumulation in the area, the decks are not completely cleared and only pathway access is maintained. Please be patient as the snow removal services work to clear both county roads and driveways. We are not responsible for Lake Tahoe weather changes / delays leading up to and during your reservation.
