XXiaoyuYukiMy husband and I came to Changsha for a vacation. The first two days we stayed near Wuyi Square, which was incredibly noisy. The following two days at Xiangjiang Hotel were a completely different and wonderful experience, let me tell you all about it.
First, the room layout. At a spacious 40 square meters, it was incredibly comfortable. There was lush greenery outside the window, and the room even had a bathtub. The little details were what really charmed me. The slippers had a delicate floral pattern, very elegant. The fridge had snacks and drinks, and the bathroom provided disposable toilet seat covers, mouthwash, and makeup remover wipes – so thoughtful!
I didn't have high expectations for breakfast at first, but it ended up being a pleasant surprise. They offer four set meals, along with a self-service selection of fruits. There was even stinky tofu and perilla peach, local specialties that allowed us to try new flavors without feeling overwhelmed. We tried the beef brisket noodles, steak, and chicken burger, all of which were delicious. Oh, and the small dishes were very refined, which reminded me of what I learned at the Hunan Provincial Museum: ancient Changsha people had a custom of sharing food, and the breakfast experience here felt similar.
The main reason for this excellent experience was the staff. Even before check-in, our butler Duoduo contacted us in advance to help reserve afternoon tea. Every front desk staff member, both ladies and gentlemen, was polite and friendly. They helped us with food deliveries and confirming Didi (ride-hailing) locations. There was one particular lady whose name I don't know; when we went out to watch a movie at night, she reminded us that it had just rained and gave us black umbrellas, which indeed saved us from getting wet when we returned late. Oh, and I must also praise the young man at the breakfast buffet. Although he looked very young, he was incredibly reliable. He remembered all the breakfast preferences I mentioned to him, and in the morning, he even asked how our stay was, which gave us a very warm feeling.
We also booked a travel photoshoot, and the photographer, Shuye, was excellent. I usually feel a bit awkward when taking photos, but he guided me to pose and smile naturally, resulting in beautiful pictures!
Overall, our stay at Xiangjiang Hotel provided a wonderful conclusion to our Changsha trip. I was initially worried about potential inconvenience with transportation, but there was none at all. Dining was also very convenient, with many Hunan cuisine options, so everyone can rest assured.
