"The hot spring was very hot; soaking in it left me feeling completely refreshed. It's supposedly a source of fresh water, and it felt great. Plus, it's a sea-view hot spring. The room was quite comfortable, and the breakfast was good and plentiful, although I couldn't eat some of the seafood. The rice was glistening and chewy."

Also, there were quite a few restrictions, such as the indoor bath being unavailable and only the open-air bath being available, so I wouldn't recommend it to my friends. It was quite disappointing."

"Not quite sure why this is classed as a resort, despite that we had a very comfortable two night stay here. The location is right on the waters edge with excellent views out to sea and back to Himi.There is a shared outdoor bath which is available for private use, we enjoyed the experience.There is a whole place was spotlessly clean. All instructions and check in procedures were available in Japanese and English, a great help to us. I have no hesitation in recommending a stay here but with a slight word of caution; the stairs to the upper rooms are quite steep and might be a challenge for the less able."

"This is a classic Japanese onsen ryokan updated slightly to be contemporary. Nothing fancy for sure, but comfortable, clean and has a friendly, flexible staff. We had a very, very fresh and delicious dinner watching the sun set over Toyama Bay and the mountains. The onsen bath and outside onsen are very lovely and have that same great view. I would never hesitate to recommend this to a friend and look forward to returning here again."

Although it said there was a sauna, there wasn't one (in the women's bath), and the open-air bath didn't even have any water in it, which was disappointing. "We used this hotel to celebrate my mother's 99th birthday and my sister's 70th birthday. The food was truly Himi-quality! We were very satisfied with the fresh sashimi and the elaborate dishes that kept coming one after another. I secretly ordered a cake in advance and had it delivered to the hotel on the day of our stay, and my mother and sister were delighted with the surprise. The location was also fantastic; we could see the sea change color from sunset and the sunrise rising over the ocean was amazing. We would love to come back again."
