There is also a comfortable couch (serving as a bonus sleeping spot for the kids on more than one occasion) to relax with a cup of tea while taking in the natural beauty beyond the balcony. The second upstairs bedroom is spacious and has two twin beds, a cozy reading nook and its own half bath. There are two comfortable bedrooms on the first floor - one with a queen bed and one with a full size bed. Full bath with bathtub on the first floor as well. Plenty of closets and dressers to store your belongings during your stay.If you like to cook, you'll love the modern chef's kitchen featuring a six-burner Bertazzoni stove and Wolf steam wall oven (amazing for baking!). Pop outside to grab a few herbs and veggies from the curated vegetable garden in the yard! The dining room includes a comfortable built-in bench and custom made table for the whole crew to enjoy meals together. The living room is another great place to gather - with plenty of seating and a working wood burning fireplace. Large Smart TV with streaming capabilities. You can log into your streaming apps on the TV such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc. One of our favorite features about the house is the great flow, everyone can enjoy and chat together while having plenty of space to spread out.The charming three season sunroom is the perfect place to read a book, play a board game or work on a group art project. We have plenty of toys and books for the kids and they will enjoy running around the large, well maintained yard (lawn serviced once a week in summer months). In the summer you will have access to a curated veggie garden in the yard. The seasonal views of the forest abutting the backyard are a delight. We get lots of visits from robins, cardinals, blue jays and woodpeckers!We are close to all the area’s key attractions: Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, museums (Norman Rockwell Museum, Berkshire Botanical Gardens, MASS MOCA and the Clark to the north), great farm to table restaurants, parks, hiking (the Appalachain Trail runs through our mountains), and lakes. The home is 10 minutes from Lenox and 15 minutes from Great Barrington, bordering Stockbridge and less than 5 minutes from the Red Lion Inn. The best farm ice cream in the Berkshires minutes away! During the summer, there are wonderful local farmer's markets and a plethora of outdoor activities. In the winter, a 15 minute drive takes you to skiing at Butternut to the south or Bousquet to the north. This newly renovated house in the woods on a private road in Lee is an ideal summer or fall retreat. Our little community (30 homes) has a beach and a dock on Goose Pond, community kayaks and other craft, and a pair of tennis/pickleball courts. The neighbors (and their children and grandchildren) tend to be friendly; most of these families count their time here in decades. Wildlife roam the woods: Don't pet the porcupines, and these wild turkeys aren't for drinking. Within 20 minutes: music at Tanglewood, dance at Jacob's Pillow, theater and museums in Stockbridge, literary inspiration at Arrowhead (Herman Melville) and the Mount (Edith Wharton). The Lee Outlet Mall is just down the road. And everywhere: good food, great hikes and bike rides, history, spectacular fall colors, dark skies for watching all the stars. When the Perseids are at their height in mid-August, turn off the lights and sit on the deck, or go down to the dock or the beach, and lose count of the shooting stars.We know that people come here for everything that surrounds us, but the house itself is pleasant and comfortable. The main living space is upstairs: kitchen, dining area, living room with fireplace, bedroom, washer-dryer and full bath; there's AC in the upstairs bedroom for the rare days when it's needed (and we're trying to add it throughout the upstairs). Downstairs are the bunk room and another bedroom, a family room and a bathroom with tub. The nights are cool even in the middle of summer; good thing there's a little fire pit out back.Minimum stay in summer: one week.Fall is glorious, and the summer crowds are gone.We generally close up the house and drain the pipes for winter, but let us know if a ski season rental would work for you.
