Esperos Palace Resort

Esperos Palace Resort ★★★★

📍 Esperos Palace Hotel, Kallithea Avenue, Kallithea

"Spent 10 days at Esperos in April and really enjoyed ourselves and the hotel Our first couple of visits to the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was spoilt by a very rude waitress called Maria who was aggressive and rude to us. We made sure we sat in a different area for future meals and were blessed to have Amelia be our waitress for the rest of the trip. She was incredibly attentive, welcoming and knew our coffee order every morning :) She delivered 5* service day after day. Christoph was also very helpful during our stay. The pool was nice and we had no problem getting a big lounger each day. The staff worked very hard all week to repair the resort after the damage from the storm the day before we arrived. There’s a bus stop right outside the hotel that takes you to Rhodes old town in 20 minutes. It’s easy to navigate and only €2.50 for a single trip. The only negative is gym facilities aren’t very good and in the same room as the indoor pool making it pretty hot. Would definitely go back to Esperos for future visits to Rhodes."

Pegasos Deluxe Beach Hotel

Pegasos Deluxe Beach Hotel ★★★★

📍 Leof. Kallitheas, Kallithea

"We couldn’t book this hotel again mainly because of the poor dining options and entertainment. There were positives and also quite a few negatives. The hotel is in a decent location and has a nice private beach. Plenty of loungers available when we were there. The pools are pretty small, so we opted for the beach most days. The loungers are comfy and the hotel grounds and beach felt clean. We hated the buffet canteen and so paid to eat out most nights. We got one included à la carte meal during our 1 week stay, which was awful! Mosquitoes absolutely everywhere, a horrid fish soup for starter, along with the fact you have to pay for any drinks consumed (we were all inclusive!) meant we left after 25 minutes and just cut our losses. Rooms are variable. Our first room was terrible and our second room looked like it was part of a completely different (nicer) hotel. The carpets and walls to the rooms on the ground floor are badly stained and need to be addressed. My husband said the gym was awful and hardly anything worked. Our towels were not changed all week in the room and were folded up again dirty. We felt sorry for the lone workers in the gyros, pizza oven and waffle/pancake places…they were so busy and hot all day. The hotel needs a second person to assist these hard workers to improve the experience of their guests and take the pressure off these staff. We enjoyed eating breakfast outside of the main canteen. Coffee was nice and the tequila sunrise cocktail was a hit with us! The bar staff are excellent."

Rhodian Rose Hotel

Rhodian Rose Hotel ★★★

📍 Athinodorou str, Kallithea

"I stayed at this property during the middle week of August, and with each passing day, I felt more and more like I was having a terrible experience! Let's start with the rooms: the sheets weren't exactly clean; in fact, I can say they weren't changed the entire week; they simply made the beds, making fun of us. The room, like the never-cleaned sheets, was consequently always dirty (I found my own hair on the floor the evening after returning from the beach). Air conditioning? You have to pay for it. The safe? You have to pay for it, and not in the room, but in the hotel lobby. Believe it or not, in the hotel lobby. You have to pay for it. Absurd. Not to mention the hot water... only if you shower from 7:00 in the morning until 7:00 p.m., then that's it... then you can get sick from the cold shower water. The Wi-Fi is good, but not very good. Let's move on to breakfast? It wasn't anything special. Let's move on to the owner's behavior, and especially that of the owner's mother. Don't be fooled by her smiles and super helpfulness; I found her very fake and hypocritical. The mother? Rude and very mean. I'll tell you an example: One morning, we arrived in the lobby at 8:00 AM for breakfast because we had to go on a boat trip that morning, and she very meanly didn't turn on the coffee machine, even though breakfast was from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. I won't even bother recounting the rest of the incidents in which she was rude to us. This one is definitely the most egregious. I strongly advise against this place for Italian tourists. You should do much better."

Stavros Melathron Studios

Stavros Melathron Studios ★★★★

📍 Kalithea, Kallithea

"Agree with earlier reviews - the grounds are beautiful and spotless. The staff are so friendly. It is secluded and peaceful even though it is a very short walk to shops and restaurants. We had a large clean room with a great patio. The Pool is large with plenty of good quality sunbeds and gets the sun all day. Perfect base for getting around Rhodes as the bus stops at the top of the drive and takes 15 minutes to get into Rhodes Town. Would definitely recommend."

Ano Kampos Hotel ★
"I advise you to think twice before booking! It didn't take long to realize that the room we'd chosen was newly added to the property and had just been given to us after construction was completed. Construction dust was falling everywhere. The next day, we encountered a white lizard in the room, and it ruined our sleep. We couldn't sleep. The next day, we reported the issue to the hotel owner. He even made fun of us, saying it was normal for this region. I said it might be normal for this region, but it wasn't normal in a hotel room. I warned him that there were gaps between the wooden furniture, and if you close them, this creature won't live in the room. The room had been disinfected and cleaned somehow when we arrived. They didn't even offer to change rooms, which wasn't surprising given their attitude. No one except the owner speaks English. The breakfast is very meager and truly unhygienic. The food quality is very poor. I condemn them for serving the worst olives on an island full of olive trees. The eggs are only one type, and they take them out of the cold refrigerator and put them on the buffet. Because they're boiled the day before. There's so much more to say, but I advise you not to stay at this hotel."

Esperos Palace Resort ★★★★
"I had a fantastic time at Esperos Palace. The hotel's beach is accessible right from the garden and pool area. There are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas which are free to use. I had never had problem finding one for myself. The beach is clean, and the pools are nice, I liked the lazy river the most. The food is excellent, with good variety of greek and international dishes and thematic nights (asian, italian, etc). The room was spacious, had great air conditioning (altough a little noisy), and plenty of storage space ( shelves and wardrobe) which I really appreciated. The only inconvenience was the lift, there are only two of them and they move in an unpredictable way. I would almost alwayshad to wait if I wanted to use them."

Pegasos Deluxe Beach Hotel ★★★★
"Just back from a 10 night family holiday at Pegasos and whilst we enjoyed our holiday overall and tried to make the best of it, there were far too many negatives and we didn’t feel that we got value for the price we paid. First of all, prior to arriving, I’d already read other reviews of guests being allocated a room which wasn’t what they had booked and sure enough, when we got to our room after arriving in the middle of the night (which although newly renovated), we found it was quite small for a family of 4 and it overlooked the road/carpark and next to what looked like treatment works and waste ground at the side of the hotel. I immediately raised our concerns, but was told it was too late at night to change rooms and to speak to reception in the morning. When I did, I was informed that our room was in fact an ‘upgrade’ despite us paying extra for a sea view, which did not fill me with much confidence. We were told that we would have to spend a second night before we could be moved to a room with a sea view, which would have older and inferior decor. As a way of an apology, we were offered 2x 30 min spa sessions and extra à la carte bookings. I wasn’t really satisfied by this, but we just wanted to get on and try enjoy the rest of our holiday as best we could. We were eventually moved after the 2 nights, but this issue definitely took the shine off the beginning of what was meant to be a relaxing family holiday. We couldn’t fully unpack until our 2nd day when we were eventually moved to the ‘new’ room with a sea view, which whilst clean, was a little outdated as was the corridor where the carpet had bleached stains all along it. Also, whilst I was at reception at different times, I overheard three other separate guests also complaining that they had not been given a room with a sea view that they had booked. This is clearly an ongoing issue with this hotel and the management team really need to improve how they manage their bookings and/or system they use. I really hope that it simply is not a ploy to take more higher priced bookings knowing that they cannot be fully accomodated. I must also mention that after the switch of rooms (where our luggage was moved for us), my wife realised that she had lost her mobile charging dock and when I asked the hotel, they said that there was no record of anyone seeing it. It had simply vanished ! The room service was also hit and miss. We found that we had a lot of sweets going missing which the cleaner must have been helping themselves to. So be careful what you leave out. Towels were usually changed, but not all surfaces were regularly cleaned. Our room had its shower in the bath which could be problematic for those less abled, but the drain in the bathroom floor also overflowed when we took showers. We found that the food choice and quality of the buffet restaurant poor compared to other similar hotels. The area where the food was served is simply too small and at busier times it was a little"

"Had a week at Rhodian Rose. The living space was a really good size, as was the bathroom. Beds were great, very comfortable. Air-conditioning was extra, I'm fine with this as it keeps the cost down for people who don't need or want it. Great location, easy 15 minute walk to main bars & restaurants. Breakfast was fine, staff friendly, pool area clean and well maintained. Would definitely stay here again without hesitation"

Stavros Melathron Studios ★★★★
"For a relatively low cost, these are great value studio apartments. Having opted for self catering over a large all inclusive hotel, this ticked all the boxes. We had a first floor apartment. The advantage of this is that you get the best of the sun in the evening. There is no bar, restaurant or entertainment but that doesn’t matter. You can get these within a short walk if you need to. There is a supermarket 100 yards away, bus stop, bars and restaurants. The buses are regular, we used them for Roades town and Lindos. Once you suss the stops out, they are easy and convenient. Near by beaches aren’t great, lots of sun beds that charge for use. Not as pretty as Balearic Islands. The apartments pool area is great, well maintained and was never too busy when we were there. In brief, basic but adequate accommodation. The rooms are cleaned daily, cleaner really works hard so please leave her a tip if you can."
