"I had a fantastic stay at Pacific House Hostel in Sydney and can honestly say it was one of the highlights of my trip. The hostel has a great atmosphere, very friendly staff, and a real sense of community that makes you feel welcome from the first day.
What truly sets Pacific House apart is the active social program they organize. The coastal walk along the beaches was absolutely amazing — stunning ocean views, fresh air, and great company. The walk across the bridge was another unforgettable experience with incredible views of Sydney Harbour and the Opera House.
The picnics were also a highlight: beach barbecues with a relaxed vibe, good food, and lots of laughter, as well as simple but lovely sandwich picnics in the Botanical Garden — a perfect way to enjoy the city and meet new people.
A huge thank you to the entire team for creating such a warm and fun environment. Special thanks to David from Poland, who ran many of the activities — his energy, friendliness, and great organization made a big difference and truly enhanced the experience.
Highly recommended for anyone who wants more than just a place to sleep, but a memorable stay full of activities, new friends, and great memories"
"There was a little dust, but it wasn't bothersome.
I had requested twin beds when I booked the accommodation, and even though I didn't mention it again at check-in, I was immediately given a twin room, which was great.
I arrived in Sydney in the morning, so when I dropped off my luggage before check-in, I butchered the English grammar, which seemed to surprise the staff a little. However, they were very kind and understood me well, for which I'm very grateful.
Fortunately, at check-in, there was a staff member who spoke Korean, so checking in was easy.
Overall, all the staff were friendly and excellent. They were also very kind when I requested towels and when I asked for the restroom key to use the restroom on the first floor before check-in and after check-out! 😄"
"It was really great!
The lobby and the rooms were absolutely adorable ♡
There weren't any toothbrushes or hairbrushes, but slippers were available if you asked at the front desk! They also lent us chopsticks when we asked.
The customer service was wonderful ♡
The location was good, the surrounding scenery was lovely, and it was quiet – a really great spot.
I'd love to stay here again next time I visit Sydney ♡
The popular cafe A.P HOUSE is very close by, so I highly recommend checking it out! I've included photos of the hotel's surroundings."
"· **Cleanliness beyond expectations:** Many older hotels have questionable carpets, but this one has faux wood flooring, so you can walk barefoot without getting dusty. The bathroom was free of mold, and the towels were pristine white and thick, which is better than many four-star hotels.
· **24-hour front desk:** This is crucial when traveling internationally. I checked in smoothly at midnight, and they even helped me book a taxi to the airport, which was cheaper than Uber.
· **Good sleep:** The window faced an inner courtyard, so it was very quiet at night. The mattress was a bit firm (common in European three-star hotels), but they provided one large and one small pillow, so I was able to adjust."
"We had a fantastic stay at Paradox Hotel Sydney. The location is excellent — super central and very easy to get to, whether you’re coming in by car or public transport. It’s right near plenty of great bars and restaurants, so there’s always something happening nearby and lots of options within walking distance.
The room was very clean and a great size, with plenty of space to relax. Everything felt well maintained and comfortable. The hotel staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.
We also made the most of the amenities — the pool and spa were a highlight and a great way to unwind after being out in the city. Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend Paradox Hotel Sydney to others looking for a central and comfortable place to stay."
"An early check in was catered for a late check out was catered for the receptionist was great the breakfast was good and the bed was comfortable.. I cannot find fault. Thank you all concerned"
"The hotel's location is pretty good, making it convenient to get around. The lobby is exquisitely decorated and offers self-service drinking water. The front desk staff are enthusiastic and welcoming. The room space is a bit small, and there's a construction site nearby. Although the windows are soundproofed, it still affected my sleep in the mornings. For an Atour hotel in China, paying over 1000 RMB per night, I personally don't think it offers great value for money. After staying for two nights, I moved to the Four Seasons nearby on Sunday. For just over 900 RMB, it was superior in every aspect."
"I stayed at The Jensens and while the location is undeniably ideal, close to everything you need and in a vibrant, convenient area, the stay was let down by a major issue.
The soundproofing isn’t great, with doors frequently slamming throughout the property. However, given that it’s a hostel-style accommodation, this was something we were able to accept and move past.
What wasn’t acceptable, though, was the presence of rats in the walls and ceiling above our room. We were woken multiple times each night by loud scratching and scurrying noises, which was extremely unsettling and made it very difficult to sleep. We also have audio recordings that clearly capture the extent of the problem.
It’s a real shame, as the location is fantastic, but this issue seriously impacted our stay. I would strongly recommend that management address the pest problem as a priority."
"I was not expecting this sort of cleanliness from this hotel but they did better than my expectation. Shared Facilities like bathroom and toilets were also very clean and tidy.
Location were amazing just a 1 min walk from the train station and close proximity to few attractions of Sydney CBD."
"Overall, the stay was great value for money. The CBD location is fantastic, perfectly situated for public transport to get around the city easily. If you love exploring on foot like I do, almost everything is within walking distance.
The only major downside was that the elevator was broken during my stay. I had to carry my luggage all the way up to the third floor. It ended up being a great cardio workout for me, though I did have to stop at every floor to catch my breath! While I laughed it off, it could definitely be a frustrating issue for others."

Amazing
AAnonymous UserThey say Australian hotels have bad service, and I experienced this first-hand. Even at a 5-star hotel, the mini-bar was constantly forgotten during daily cleanings in both rooms I booked, which were on different floors.
Also, during breakfast, genuinely friendly staff were few and far between. Out of all the days I stayed, only two female staff members greeted guests with a smile. On April 5th, the front desk was manned by a male attendant in a brown suit, with a brush cut and a beard. My parents arrived before me, so he gave them three English menus. When I arrived, I asked him for a Chinese menu. He said 'okay,' but I waited for a very long time, and he never brought it. During this time, I asked two other staff members about it. I told them I needed a Chinese menu, and they both said 'okay,' but none of them brought it to me. I waited for a very, very long time! I couldn't wait any longer, so I took an English menu myself and went to the front desk to exchange it. As I walked towards the front desk, the same male attendant with the brush cut and beard also walked over. I then told the female attendant at the front desk that I needed a Chinese menu. The male attendant then came over and *actually said* he was also looking for a Chinese menu 🙄. In reality, menus in various languages are usually available at the front desk. And normally, when they check guests in, they ask what language they prefer and provide the appropriate menu. The staff on duty that day hadn't placed Chinese menus on the counter and then delayed providing them when guests asked. I don't want to bring up 'discrimination against Chinese people,' but the attitude of prioritizing foreign guests while neglecting Chinese guests is unacceptable. I will absolutely never choose Capella again!
GGuest UserMe and my friend pick YHA Sydney Central as the location is so convenient to travel around in Sydney(tram station just right in front of the hotel). We also appreciated staffs, and how clean the hotel is as well. We love that they have kitchen / common area to enjoy our time with other guests as well. We will visit again 👍🏻
VVdjrmGreat location, absolutely perfect! The bar is good too, and there are lots of activities! It would be even better if the kitchen stayed open a bit later (it closes at 10 PM now). The staff are super nice and will chat with you like friends. It's a fantastic spot for young people and solo travelers. This is my second time staying here!
XXiaoyouyouA perfect and comfortable stay to conclude our Sydney, Australia trip. Upon landing at Sydney domestic airport, I saw on Google Maps 🗺️ that the hotel wasn't far 🏨, so my son and I walked there, which took about 23 minutes. The moment we opened the door, we were amazed. It felt just like coming home. The front desk staff were also very good and nice. Finding food around the hotel was very convenient, with Northeastern Chinese, Sichuanese restaurants, and Asian supermarkets. A large Australian WWS supermarket was also within a 10-minute walk. Mascot train station is within walking distance, and it's just 5 stops directly to Circular Quay, known as the most beautiful station in the Southern Hemisphere. Our 3-night stay was absolutely fantastic! 🈵
AAnonymous UserMy overall experience at W Hotel Sydney was very satisfying. The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient transportation and beautiful surroundings. The room design is stylish and modern, clean and tidy, and the bedding is comfortable, allowing me to rest very well during my stay.
The hotel's public facilities are very well-maintained. Whether it's the pool, gym, or public areas, everything feels high-quality. The staff also provides excellent service; they are warm, professional, and promptly assist with any issues, making the entire check-in process very smooth.
Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. Both the hardware facilities and the service level met my expectations. I will consider choosing W Hotel again next time I visit Sydney and will also recommend it to my friends.
PPuwuFirst stop in Sydney! Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the hotel. The location is unbeatable; it's so convenient to get anywhere, perfect for a city walk. It's also very friendly for fashion lovers.
The lobby isn't maintained very well, it only looks good when the lights are on at night.
We were upgraded to a super awesome ocean view room this time, which made me really happy!
I highly recommend the hotel's breakfast and the dinner buffet – both are top-notch in Sydney.
XxiaoshumelExcellent location just a couple mins walk from Town Hall station. Also has a Woolworth conveniently nearby and QVB is just across the road. Room was clean, room service was excellent and towels were replaced daily. Mini fridge and iron too in the room if needed. Bathroom is spacious enough and concierge is very friendly.
PPinweizhongdejimoI highly recommend the Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour! The overall experience was superb, and the service was exceptionally attentive. The front desk offers Chinese-speaking staff, and a lovely girl from Suzhou was particularly warm and thoughtful, proactively helping with various issues and kindly sharing local travel tips. This makes the hotel very friendly to Chinese tourists. The hotel's location is excellent, backing onto Chinatown and right next to Darling Harbour Pier, making it incredibly convenient for getting around and finding food. Plus, it's a pick-up point for local day tour groups, which makes joining tours very hassle-free. Both the convenience of travel and the service experience are impeccable. For Chinese friends visiting Sydney, I highly recommend choosing this hotel.
GGuest UserWe had a brilliant experience at the Langham for our wedding anniversary! I forgot how much I like the Langham brand. From the pink ribbon around the toilet paper to the sleep ammenities (we asked for the sleep pillow mist and the room diffuser) to the suggested third eye massage technique and the chamomile tea before bedtime, we felt totally pampered and taken care of. Reservation was made for our celebratory dinner with fine steak dinner over the fantastic view of the Opera House. In room breakfast was delivered on time and the quantity copious. The Spanish bell boy was helpful and friendly. We were also upgraded to a harbour view room to our delight. Location was convenient to walk either to Barangaroo or the Rocks, for ferry ride or metro. Very pleased to have chosen The Langham, it was absolutely the right decision for us!
GGuest UserPerfect stay in the heart of Burwood! The location can’t be beaten—walking distance to Westfield Mall, Burwood Park, and countless Asian eateries. The guesthouse has a charming historic vibe with polished wooden floors, plus modern perks like free WiFi and a coin-operated laundry. The host was super friendly and helped us store luggage after check-out.
