"This hotel is great; the rooms are spacious, clean, and bright. The breakfast is incredibly diverse and was the best I had during my stay in Dali. The laundry room is also excellent and convenient to use. The front desk staff are very helpful, attentive, and thorough, and the valet service for the parking garage was consistently on point—kudos to them. Plus, there's a bus stop right outside, which really helps with the difficulty of finding taxis in Dali."

"We chose Xiaguan because it's quiet and right next to a street full of restaurants. We hired a car specifically for our trip. The hotel was clean, with a nice environment and friendly staff who even offered hot-packed food. Xingsheng Bridge is just a five-minute walk away, and the night view is beautiful. The driver was very easygoing and kind, especially to the elderly. We toured Dali Old Town until 11 PM, and he took us back home. I highly recommend this driver, Mr. Shi (***********). Mr. Shi's itinerary was very well-planned and suitable for our family. Weishan Ancient Town and Weibaoshan Mountain were beautiful, less crowded, and had a pleasant shopping experience. Xizhou Ancient Town was a rip-off; they forced us to pay 80 yuan for a sightseeing bus and tickets to attractions we didn't want to visit. Two years ago, we didn't have to pay anything. Now it's too commercialized."

"We really enjoyed our stay here and wish we'd booked more nights here rather than near the Dali old town, it's location is great, the room is really comfortable and the staff are always helpful. The hotel appears to be newly built and a bit rustic upon the first look but is actually a hidden gem. The amenities in the room are great, we especially enjoyed the water pressure. Hotel guests can get vouchers to use the full sized gym on the second floor, which is much better equipped than hotel gyms and super convenient. We would definitely return to stay here next time we're in Dali."

A special shout-out to the front desk staff – the gentleman there had excellent service, was warm and patient, and very easy to communicate with. "Pros: Near shopping mall and amenities, plenty of restaurants and grocery and clothes to shop Cars can stop directly outside the hotel for drop off and pick up Room is spacious Good hot water shower. Hot water boils very fast and last very long. Bed is very comfy Cons: Not a foreigner friendly hotel Wifi cannot be linked as the wifi uses wechat verification Hotel desk phone unable to use, need to call reception using local number, which will be international call for foreigners Our wall plug was faulty on both side beds. Toilet is not segregated so can smell and hear everything thats happening in the toilet. We had to buy our own air freshener if not we can smell it from our bed. Likewise the cold wind will come in when showering. The shower floor is mosaic tiles, quite sharp if showering barefooted. The curtains cannot close fully. Will have a gap and light coming in from outside at night. Theres a whooshing sound coming from the corridor due to strong wind. Can be heard throughout the night. The light switches are everywhere. Not consolidated into 1 place. Need to move to 3 different light switch areas to switch off different lights. Design is very not user friendly, doesnt make sense at all infact. Main room light is by the second bed, switch off all light button beside first bed. Laundry area was provided but dryer was not working. Clothes unable to dry in cold weather Does not have a non-smoking level Our toilet has a string of poop stuck at the pipe. No matter how many times we flush we can still see it."

"The hotel is right next to the bridge, but the sign isn't very prominent, so you might have to look for it. However, the hotel is very clean, the bed is comfortable, and it's very quiet. There are restaurants and shops nearby, and you can take a walk along the harbor after dinner, which offers great scenery."

"Our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Erhai Park for our Dali trip truly exceeded expectations. The hotel's location is excellent; it's just a few minutes' walk from Dali Railway Station, making travel very convenient. It's also close to Erhai Park, so we could easily stroll to the lakeside in the evenings to enjoy the scenery. Dining and shopping options are also readily available nearby. The room was spotless and spacious. The mattress was just right – not too soft, not too hard – ensuring a great night's sleep. The soundproofing was effective, so we weren't disturbed by outside noise. The room facilities were comprehensive, and the toiletries were of good quality. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of choices, including both Chinese and Western options, as well as local Yunnan rice noodles and specialty snacks. We were very satisfied with the food. The hotel also has a gym and a self-service laundry room, which is a great plus for long-term travelers. The front desk staff were very friendly and handled check-in quickly. They were also prompt in responding to any questions we had. The overall service standard is high. This hotel is perfect for both leisure and short business trips. Highly recommended!"

"I specifically chose this hotel because it's very close to Dali Station. I often stay at Hilton's budget brands for transit, and while the price here wasn't low, and the hardware was relatively new, the overall experience was truly disappointing. I booked a garden view room, expecting to see a courtyard, but opening the window revealed a direct view of an urban village, with a parking lot right below. It felt nothing like a 'garden' at all. The breakfast, in particular, was a huge letdown. The self-service area was just a tiny mini-island with salad, fruit, yogurt, egg tarts, and sliced bread – a pitifully small selection. There were hardly any Western pastries, not even a simple croissant. Besides that, there was only a noodle station with 'crossing the bridge' rice noodles, and what looked like overnight fried rice and noodles. The quality was even worse than a 30-yuan hot spring hotel breakfast. What you see in the picture is pretty much all there was to eat. After reading other reviews that mentioned a pool, beach, and children's water toys, I seriously wonder if I went to the wrong hotel. On the positive side: the self-service laundry area was excellent, clean, and comfortable. Also, there's a wide variety of takeout options around the hotel, making ordering food very convenient. These two points are a big plus for business travelers and those staying overnight in transit. While the location, laundry facilities, and takeout options are suitable for a layover, considering the price, the discrepancy in views and breakfast offerings is significant. I'd advise lowering your expectations before checking in."

"The room was simple and comfortable, making for a pleasant stay, and the price was really affordable. A car picked us up upon arrival, which was very convenient and saved us a lot of hassle. The location is great, close to Erhai Lake – just turn left when you step out and you'll see it. The surrounding area is nice too; there's a good rice noodle restaurant across the street, and a commercial street next door where you can find a busy BBQ place at night that's absolutely delicious (I tried it!). Plus, the front desk staff were incredibly attentive and helpful; they answered all our questions and made getting around easy. It was a very enjoyable trip to Erhai Lake, starting with this easy and comfortable stay. I also took a lot of great photos."
