"What I liked about the hotel: I chose it because it's an American brand hotel, and I figured their operating principles would be more standardized. The location is excellent; you can take bus 8 directly from the high-speed rail station and it drops you right at the entrance. We used public transport to visit several attractions in Xiaguan, which was a relaxed way to travel without the crowds. Getting to Dali Ancient City, climbing Cangshan Mountain, and seeing Erhai Lake by taxi was also very convenient. What I didn't like 👎: The no-smoking signs were scarce and not prominent enough; this needs improvement. For example, the signs were small, the message was unclear, and they were placed in inconspicuous locations. The ashtrays integrated into the trash cans by the elevators are misleading and implicitly suggest that smoking is allowed. Non-smokers always outnumber smokers, so I hope the hotel will enhance its brand quality and strictly enforce smoking control measures. Otherwise, it will continue to be criticized for hypocrisy. Personal tip: When taking a taxi, choosing a female driver can reduce the frequency of exposure to second-hand smoke."

"My stay at Dali Yizhanxue Hotel was absolutely fantastic, I highly recommend it! The hotel is brand new, so all the facilities are spotless and fresh. The location is a huge plus, right next to a shopping mall, making it super convenient for shopping and dining without having to go far. The room was spacious and felt open, and the king-sized bed was wide and soft – incredibly relaxing to lie on. The bathroom had delightful little touches; the sandalwood-scented toiletries felt luxurious and had a warm, healing scent. The towels were Hilton-quality, wonderfully soft to the touch. The room also had a mini-fridge, which was handy for storing drinks and fruit. The hotel's public areas are incredibly well-designed, with Instagrammable spots everywhere. You can snap great photos without even needing a filter! Breakfast was consistently good, and the freshly cooked rice noodles were authentic and delicious. Staying here in Dali is a guaranteed win – I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time!"

"Brand-new hotel! The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. There was some renovation going on near the lobby on the first floor, but they kindly moved us to a quieter room, which was great. Facilities: Everything is very new. They have washing machines and dryers, though they can get quite busy and you might have to wait in line, unlike some hotels where you can check their status on the TV. Hygiene: Housekeeping was very prompt. We stayed for three nights, and it was always spotless. Environment: The hotel's internal environment is excellent. The surrounding area is pretty average, but ordering delivery is very convenient. If you want to eat at a nicer restaurant, you'll need a car. Service: They quickly brought mosquito coils when we mentioned there were mosquitoes, which was much appreciated. The underground parking garage is also very convenient."

"Atmosphere: The sea view is stunning, offering different sunrise and sunset views every day from every angle. Facilities: Well-equipped, the host even provided daily replenished disposable toiletries, a powerful hairdryer, and a wet/dry bathroom setup. Cleanliness: Spotless and tidy. The cleaning staff cleaned daily, and the room was odor-free. Service: The butler service was attentive and responsive. Public areas were elegant and clean with pleasant diffusers, and there was a self-service area for water and amenities."

"They even gave us lovely flower shortbread cookies! This hotel is absolutely fantastic, right in the city center with a snack street nearby. The only downside is that it's not smoke-free, so there was a bit of a smell. But that's a minor issue that doesn't detract from how great it is. Definitely worth revisiting! 🩵"

"We chose this hotel after seeing photos of the amazing views from its rooms - and we were not disappointed. The hotel is located in a high rise residential apartment complex, and situated in between the east and west banks of Erhai lake. You could see both banks clearly from the balcony, with Cangshan serving as the backdrop. Service was personal and wonderful too. We had our rooms upgraded for free to a bigger one, and the staff gave many useful recommendations of local restaurants, attractions and bike rental - very very handy for cycling Erhai lake (the bike shop she recommended was professional and provided high quality bikes which enabled us to go halfway around the lake, and could be returned at a different location). She also made us tea personally upon request, and offered to teach us teamaking. Overall, a very pleasant stay with nothing to complain about. Will recommend this hotel to fellow travellers who are looking to stay in a less touristy part of Dali, away from the ancient town area, with amazing views from the hotel itself."

"Right as I reached the entrance with my luggage, a young man came out to greet me. He enthusiastically took my bags, and I felt a little awkward walking behind him empty-handed. The room wasn't huge, but it was very tidy. The sheets looked freshly changed, no wrinkles, and none of that stuffy smell. The window was open a crack, letting in a cool breeze. It was incredibly quiet at night. I had worried about soundproofing, but I slept soundly until morning. Breakfast was rice noodles with minced meat sauce. The sauce was fragrant but not greasy, and the noodles were slippery. It came with a small dish of fried mushrooms on the side, with no overpowering spices, just the natural taste of the ingredients – very comforting. When I left, the same young man escorted me to my ride. I'll definitely be back if I get the chance."

"I was heading to Shaxi the next day, so for easy bus access, I chose Atour, which is not far from the bus station. Bus route 5 takes you straight there. The front desk staff was very welcoming and gave me a complimentary room upgrade. The bedding was up to Atour's usual standard: very comfortable. The room was clean and tidy, and there was plenty of hot water. Breakfast on weekends goes until 11 AM, which is a really nice touch. They offered Dali's specialty rice noodles (er si) and douhua (tofu pudding), where you could adjust the sweet and savory flavors yourself. There's a shopping mall downstairs, making dining very convenient. It's much better value for money than staying in the old town."

"The location is absolutely fantastic! It's a mere 5-minute walk to Dali Railway Station, making catching the high-speed train incredibly convenient. There are plenty of dining options and transportation nearby. The room offers a great view; you can open the window and see Cangshan Mountain right in front of you – the mountain scenery is truly therapeutic. The front desk service was attentive and even helped us with a late check-out, which was very thoughtful. The only minor downside was that the breakfast buffet had a limited selection, but overall, we were very satisfied with everything else."
