The owner was incredibly welcoming and kind. They even picked us up from the bus station and took us to the guesthouse. Our room was spotless and fresh, with no unpleasant smells. The first floor of the guesthouse is absolutely beautiful! đ And the rooftop patio is amazing â you can relax on the swing, gaze at Cangshan Mountain in the distance, and admire the old town. It's incredibly peaceful and relaxing! I highly recommend booking here! It's super close to the South Gate of the old town, which is perfect for an evening stroll and experiencing the night market. Overall, a fantastic experience!

We stayed in the Dali ancient city area which was very good. The area was very beautiful. The room was very comfortable, cheap and clean. The hotel was on the 1st floor and had to climb stairs. The staff was very nice and friendly. When checking in, they gave us the option to choose the room we liked. There were 3 rooms that we could choose from and we chose a room near the exit to the stairs to make it easier for us to get in and out. There were shops below but they weren't noisy or bothering us. There were also mosques and halal food places and it was very fun to walk around while enjoying the beautiful and lively scenery. The night was very lively and things were quite cheap compared to Chengdu.
The hotel is located at WenXian Road outside the ancient city of Dali Old City, near the south gate of the ancient city. Vehicles can directly reach the store gate, and walking into the ancient city is very convenient;
The hotel is a traditional architecture of the Bai ethnic group, decorated in a pure ancient style, giving visitors a sense of time travel. The Waterside Pavilion in the store regularly provides guests with Chinese style performances, such as guqin, guzheng, pipa, and ethnic costume performances;
The hotel's guest rooms are fully equipped with amenities, central air conditioning, elevators, and parking lots. We look forward to serving you.

I first heard about this place on Instagram and thought it was so beautiful. Its incredible structure is just as gorgeous when you see it in person.
The staff were very accommodating and attentive. It was so cool because they had a machine that translates different languages depending on what you speak. This was the first time Iâd ever seen anything like it and found it very helpful as I donât speak Mandarin.
Breakfast isnât included but you can purchase their set meals for 37 yuan and have it while looking out at the beautiful courtyard. If you need train station transfer, you can easily ask for it for 80 yuan per way which made my check in and check out process smooth.
They also allow you to try on their cultural costumes for free. If you need hair, makeup and photography services than itâs 499 yuan. As a solo traveler, I decided to try it out. They were very nice, however I definitely struggled with the very white makeup since I myself am very tanned. In their defense they did their best with trying to give me something darker and in the makeup room it seemed fine. But with the different lighting outside and the camera flash, when I got my pictures back I basically had a ghost face đ The foundation also wasnât applied to my neck and arms, so it was very apparent. Iâve asked the photographer to help standardize my skin so hopefully that helps whenever itâs done. You receive a total of 9 retouches photos as part of the package. However, if you prefer to do your own makeup or are traveling with others then they can take pictures for you instead.
The place is very convenient for finding restaurants and if youâre primary goal is the visit the old town. Itâs very close by, so I was able to explore easily and then return to the hotel for breaks when needed.
Lastly, you can use their laundry machines and get laundry pellets for free. Ideally this is great. But I will say the drying part is dreadful. The instructions say to do the 2/3 rule. However, even when I followed and put a small batch of clothes in it never dried. I tried once for 1.5 hours, then again for another hour, and still nothing. That was probably the only real part that was frustrating.

Jiazi Hotel truly exceeded my expectations! My entire stay was incredibly comfortable. The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was so soft I slept wonderfully. The facilities were comprehensive, and you could really feel the thoughtful attention to detail. The staff were warm and attentive, always ready to answer questions and even offered thoughtful recommendations for local attractions and food â their service was super nice. The location is also excellent, making it convenient for getting around and shopping. The value for money is absolutely top-notch. Definitely a five-star rating, I'll choose this place again next time!
It's hard to find the hotel because we walk straight on the road but the hotel is located at the small alley from the main road and the signboard is small. With 1 uncle is selling the bracelet that we barely know there is a small alley there.
The room is ok but the shower room is not good. There is no shower curtain. The water is splashing around the restroom.
I asked for a late checkout at 13.00 due my train at 16.00 but the hotel receptionist is not allowed.

This little hotel in Dali Ancient Town was our favourite. It is not anything fancy, but the location was perfect. Initially, I booked a hotel near the 3 Pagodaâs temple, which was more expensive. After realizing it was remote and had its own issues, we immediately decided we had to relocate.
This hotel welcomed us and gave us a nice room for a very modest 105 RMB. Two single beds, which we pushed together, a good shower and amenities too.
While there is no elevator, the receptionist is kind and helped us bring our bags to the second floor.
Facilities: Renovated from an old house, very beautiful! The room is decorated in a minimalist style, see pictures for details.
Cleanliness: The room is clean and tidy, but the bathroom has no window.
Environment: Located in the old town, very close to Wuhua Tower, it wasn't noisy at night, a quiet oasis amidst the hustle and bustle.
Service: It was raining when I arrived, and they thoughtfully sent a butler to pick me up.
Located in the middle of the old town, it's not ideal for people with luggage.

Finally made it to Dali! The weather wasn't great during the May Day holiday, but I did get one sunny day (Dali is truly stunning when the sun's out!). There are lots of small alleys and young people setting up stalls, giving it a very artistic vibe, though I confess I don't really 'get' it, haha. Strolling around by myself here is really pleasant. If the weather had been better, I'm sure the scenery would have been even more beautiful, and there would have been more places to explore.
I arrived quite late on the first day, but the host waited up for me and was very welcoming. When I left, they even treated me to some flower pastries. There's a very aloof and unique cat in the courtyard, named 'Gongzi' (Young Master) ~ You should definitely consider staying here if you get the chance! As for my Guangdong stomach, it couldn't quite adapt to the local food, but at least this solo trip is now complete~
⨠Five-star review! A hidden gem of a quiet guesthouse in Dali Ancient City, incredible value for money!
â Environment: Secluded yet central, surrounded by lush greenery, tranquil and elegant. It's away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets, making it relaxing and rejuvenating.
â Hygiene: The room was spotless, fully equipped, and of high quality. I felt safe and comfortable staying here.
â Location: Right in the heart of the ancient city, within walking distance to all attractions. Super convenient for getting around, and the quiet yet central location is a huge plus.
â Service: The owner was warm and attentive, provided detailed tips, and was always ready to help. They were as friendly as an old friend.
It's truly rare to find such a quiet and comfortable guesthouse in the ancient city. Highly recommended!

Negative comments: I wish we were given normal towers and not one-use towels, especially since we stayed for three days. Moreover, the bathroom was very tiny and we barely had any space to shower. The internet connection is quite slow as well.
Positive aspects: The people working there are very polite and responded very quickly to any questions we had. Rooms are clean. The two rooms were spacious. The location is very good, very near to the south gate. There is a washing machine.

GGuest UserExtremely satisfied with this B&B, especially the housekeeper â five-star rating! I had a great time chatting with her; she took care of everything perfectly.
And the B&B's doggy âstaff member,â Little Burger, is super cute and cuddly!
The decor feels very much like home. When you pull back the curtains on the panoramic French windows, you see the wetland park outside, which is a popular spot for photos â there were even people taking wedding pictures at the entrance.
On New Year's Eve, we just drew back the curtains and watched the fireworks show directly from our room!
The rooftop offers an absolutely stunning view of the sunset!
And the cutest little dog in all of Dali, Burger! I truly love him; even three nights here wasn't enough.
Overall, the stay was flawless. Renting a car made getting around very convenient. I'll definitely be back!
BBingbingleăThe room was very spacious and well-equipped.
The decor and design were fantastic. The renovation of the historic building is quite unique, and the courtyard is breathtaking.
The housekeeping service was excellent, and any requests were promptly addressed.
The breakfast was also delicious, featuring some unique dishes.
I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Yunnan.
GGuest UserAn incredibly value-for-money stay that exceeded all expectations! The room was spacious and clean, with two king-sized beds (1.8m each), so it wasn't at all cramped even with our child. The bedding was comfortable, and we slept wonderfully in the quiet nights. The room also had a smart speaker (Xiao Du) and a large-screen TV, which were super convenient to use and kept our little one thoroughly entertained. The breakfast was a very generous buffet, offering a wide variety of both Western and Chinese dishes that tasted great â the kids absolutely loved it! The staff were warm, attentive, and very friendly, always responding promptly to any requests. Parking at the hotel was also very convenient and free. The environment was fantastic; our child didn't want to leave! It's a shame our itinerary was packed, so we had to reluctantly depart. We will definitely be back again. Highly, highly recommend!
GGuest UserThe B&B was spotless and well-maintained with excellent facilities. The environment was beautiful, and the rooftop terrace offered stunning views of the Cangshan sunrise and sunset, overlooking the ancient city â truly delightful. The room was bathed in warm sunlight, and enjoying tea while gazing at the ancient city from the bay window was a real treat. The owners were incredibly kind, warm, and genuine, always ready to help with any request. They gave us practical tips and food recommendations that didn't disappoint. There's also a very friendly dog named Wangcai and two adorable cats. When we left, they even helped us with our checked luggage, showing genuine care for their guests. I'll definitely recommend this place to friends and will choose it again if I ever return. I'm currently in a Lijiang B&B, unable to sleep, and the contrast makes me miss that place even more â it had a special kind of warmth.
GGuest UserThe environment is very clean, and the decor is simple and comfortable. The room directly faces Erhai Lake, offering expansive views. It's also only a few kilometers from the airport, which is super convenient. Couples will find it very relaxing here, as all rooms have king-size beds. The guesthouse host was lovely and enthusiastic, recommending off-the-beaten-path routes and nearby eateries. Overall, it was a great experience!
GGuest UserA 10 star experience
From the moment I arrived, I was warmly greeted by the two Mo sisters and their adorable feline companions, Pirate (the black cat) and Sweet Tooth (the brown one).
Everything about this stayâfrom the location and decor to the impeccable cleanliness and serviceâdeserves 10 stars. The Mo sisters are incredibly friendly, chatty, and helpful, making the entire place feel like a beautifully maintained, quaint home.
A few highlights:
Thoughtful Details: The beds come equipped with heating pads for colder nights, which was such a nice touch.
Amenities: I absolutely loved the peaceful courtyard and the rooftop area.
Service: They are very attentive; for instance, if you need brighter reading lights, you just have to ask.
The Atmosphere: The garden is lovingly cared for and adds so much to the vibe.
Even as a dedicated dog lover, I have to admit that Pirate and Sweet Tooth completely won me over. If you are looking for a stay with character and heart, this is it!
GGuest UserThis hotel, though small, is incredibly charming. Staying here felt like stepping back into an old house from the Republic of China era. The details are very high-quality, and you can really feel the thoughtful design. It's located in a quiet corner of the old city, making it convenient to get everywhere. Both the afternoon tea and breakfast were exquisite and offered a wide variety, making them well worth the price alone! The service was also exceptionally attentive; the front desk lady helped me carry my very heavy luggage up and down, which I felt terrible about. I just hope the owner hires a couple of strong people to help the ladies out, and I wish them all the best!
AAmiraShafiraI love this hotel so much. The hotel view is very great and the staff is very helping and friendly. Definitely will repeat. For the toilet very muslim friendly cause it has a bidet near the watercloset. It also serves free tea and orange. Very recommended.
GGuest UserThis hotel is conveniently located just off an alley within Dali Ancient City, easily accessible by taxi. It's perfect for travelers who enjoy a relaxed, nature-filled atmosphere. The courtyard, with its lush greenery and pond, is incredibly photogenic. We stayed on a rainy day, and they even provided a dryer and dehumidifier, which was a nice touch. Our room was in the back, so street noise wasn't an issue at night. It also had a small balcony, perfect for unwinding, and a tatami-style tea area, which I unfortunately didn't get to fully enjoy due to our schedule. The breakfast was a highlight â very nutritious and healthy, and the yuzu tea was delicious! The staff, both the guys and girls, were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay!
CcharlottemomoThis past May Day holiday, I brought my family to Dali for a vacation âąď¸ and chose this South France-style guesthouse located in Haidong, where we stayed for 5 days.
From the moment our trip approached, the guesthouse thoughtfully set up a chat group with a butler who updated us on the weather and reminded us to pack appropriate clothes. Upon arrival, they helped us with our luggage and kindly informed us about afternoon tea đŤ and late-night dessert đŽ times, which was very considerate.
The guesthouse is located in Wenbi Village, a popular spot recently, and it's not too far from the airport, making the location quite convenient. Since the village is on a hill and parking spaces are scarce, the guesthouse arranged for our rental car to be parked at a nearby resident's lot and provided a shuttle service for transfers.
Traveling with a child this time, his favorite part was the large bathtub. Every evening, he eagerly looked forward to a milk bubble bath đŤ§, and he also loved the Basque cheesecake for afternoon tea đ°.
If I were to offer some suggestions, it would be to provide baby slippers, toothbrushes, and toothpaste for rooms with children. Perhaps also offer some parent-child interactive activities, like making flower cakes, which would be an even nicer touch. Also, the breakfast could be a bit more varied; after staying for several days, it got a little repetitive, haha. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay!
