Hotels near Daan District, Taipei

"Dandy Hotel Daan Park is a nice little hotel in a quiet part of town. There is an MRT Exit right next to it, but we only used it once because that exit (Exit 1) only has steep steps. We used Exit 6 (1 short block away) so that we could use the escalator/elevator. The bus stop is also close to Exit 6, and we found it more convenient to take the bus to CKS Memorial and Ximending rather than the MRT. Breakfast was just ok. They serve lu rou fan on some days, which is great. We didn't get to use the laundry machines, but they're available 24/7, for free. It's also very convenient to have a 7-11 right next door, a pharmacy across the street, and a Subway outlet next to the Da'an Park MRT Exit 1. Check-in and check-out were both easy. There is only one elevator, which can get busy in the mornings when people are going down to breakfast/checking out, but it wasn't too bad. Housekeeping did not wash used cups, which was disappointing, but the bathrooms were always cleaned well. We also liked that there's an air purifier in the hallway and in our room."

"Facilities: Although the hotel opened in the 2000s, it feels very new. Hygiene: Excellent, even cleaner than expected. Environment: The lobby is decorated with great style, and the rooms are decent, but the downside is that breakfast is just average."

"This is a 4-star hotel with a distinctly Japanese aesthetic, but honestly, it felt far more luxurious and comfortable than many 5-stars I've stayed in. It's elegant, highly functional, and very modern. The service was spectacular from the moment we checked in. Every single time we walked through the lobby, the staff greeted us with genuine warmth and attention – truly top-notch hospitality. Our room was just the right size. We had two separate beds – not overly massive, but more than sufficient. I'm 1.87m (about 6'1”), and I was perfectly comfortable in mine. The mattress was comfy, the two pillows were great, and the duvet was cozy and warm. Instead of a closed wardrobe, there's a small but practical hanging rail for clothes right next to a sink with a mirror. The shower itself was comfortable, though if I had to give one tiny critique, the water pressure wasn't exceptionally strong. However, that's easily forgiven because the quality of the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash was absolutely spectacular – genuinely premium, top-tier stuff, easily some of the best I've ever found in a hotel, beating out most 5-star properties I've visited. The toilet is in its own separate compartment and features a Japanese bidet, which works flawlessly and is a very much-appreciated touch. The location is simply perfect. We didn't book breakfast at the hotel because there's a Mister Brown Café – a great ********* coffee chain – literally right next door. It was ideal for grabbing a latte with a cinnamon roll, croissant, or something more brunch-style. On top of that, there's an MRT (metro) station exit right at the hotel's doorstep on the Blue Line, making getting around the city incredibly convenient. To sum it up, I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. I was extremely comfortable here, and the location couldn't be better. I would absolutely choose this hotel again on my next trip to Taipei – and I'm already looking forward to it."

"Overall, my stay at the hotel was good. The location is convenient, just about a 10-minute walk from the MRT station, and there are plenty of amenities nearby. The front desk and staff were friendly and always patiently helped with any requests during my stay, so their service quality is definitely commendable. One thing to note is that the soundproofing in the rooms is just average. You can easily hear water pressure sounds and footsteps from the neighboring rooms. If you're sensitive to noise or a light sleeper, I'd recommend bringing earplugs to improve your comfort during your stay."

"The Illume is a huge hotel located a few minutes drive away from the airport and a couple minutes walk from the Taipei arena. The hotel rooms are big and the pool is a great amenity. I did have some difficulty booking their room's as they change availability... Less said about this, but I reccomend returning to check prices more than once."

"I had an exceptional stay at Éclat Hotel Taipei. The room was immaculate and beautifully designed with high-end touches like a Dyson hair dryer and a Nespresso machine. The staff were incredibly attentive and professional, making the check-in process seamless. I also loved the location it’s in the heart of Da’an District, very close to the MRT and surrounded by fantastic restaurants and convenience stores. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Taipei!"

"The Howard Plaza Hotel has an excellent location, very close to Daan Forest Park and Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT Station. The surrounding area has a full range of amenities and is very safe. The staff are attentive and friendly. As an older hotel, the facilities are a bit dated, and the room decor has a classic, slightly old-fashioned feel, but all of this is perfectly acceptable. The only downside was that the room number sign on my floor (I think it was the 6th floor, facing Ren'ai Road) seemed to be incorrect, directing me in the wrong direction from the elevator. I walked all the way to the end of the hall and couldn't find my room, so I had to turn back and eventually found it in the opposite direction. It was a bit frustrating. I hope they can fix that sign."

"I love the hotel offer of tub inclusive shower room, giving me the maximum comfort after a long day of touring through taipei! Even further, the hotel offers the bath salt for relaxation that reduces my muscle stress. Moreover, it offers a small baby chair for me to take shower with full convenience! This is 100% Amazing Grace!"

"Didn’t expect the hotel to be just right outside the DaAn train station exit 6 which makes it so much convenient and accessible to travel within taipei. What came as a pleasant experience was the hotel allowed an earlier check in for me which was pretty amazing due to the fact that it was a tiring day after commuting from yilan. Overall hotel experience was great and absolutely fantastic ! Would be great if there are water dispensers per floors and a pool 😅"

"Room was small but adequate for a single person. Was pleasantly surprised that it came equipped with a bar fridge and fixture to hang clothes. Toilet/shower was shared but extremely clean and tidy as seen in the photos, where the use was restricted to 10 guests from the single room. During my stay, I only ever encountered another guest using the bathroom. Bed was comfortable and pillow was firm enough (some hotels use cheap pillows which have 0 head support) to provide a good night's sleep. The location of the hotel was excellent as well, situated between 2 metro stations (Zhongxiao Dun Hua and Zhongxiao Fu Xing), with a direct entrance right at the entrance which leads into the underground mall which links to both metro stations. There is also a carrefour, family mart and 24hr McDonald's nearby. Overall this is excellent value for money at S$44 per night, will definitely stay here again in Taipei when I return."
