"Excellent location right by the love river and a short walk from KS music centre, light rail, Pier 2 stalls and night market. Noticed a michelin starred japanese restaurant just a few steps away from the hotel on the riverside! We had a family room with 2 queen sized mattresses. Spotless rooms and good shower. Umbrellas provided at reception. Main issue is no lift, so it was a lug to get the suitcases up. One step in the bedroom. No safe. Some noise from the main road as the windows looked right out onto it, but the street was very quiet by 11pm (Saturday night). We would definitely stay again as a family, but I'd have to look elsewhere for someone who is mobility impaired."
"The hotel location is unbeatable - it is located right beside the Love River with beautiful and relax view. There is a 7-11 is right next to the hotel which makes my stay easier. I enjoy the hotel overall, however there is an odd smell when I stepped right into the lobby and the smell remained constantly during my entire stay. Luckily the room smells fresh. I like the hotel and highly recommend to others and will come back if I visit KH again."
"Q21 Hotel, Kaohsiung
I had a great experience staying at Q21 Hotel. The hotel was very clean, and the staff were friendly, accommodating, and always willing to help. The location is excellent—very close to the subway station and within walking distance of the beautiful Love River, which was a big highlight of the stay.
Snacks, tea, and coffee were always available, which was a nice and thoughtful touch. The only area that could be improved is breakfast; it would be better if there were more options for eggs and bread, such as boiled eggs or sunny-side-up eggs.
Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and I would definitely consider staying here again."
"I was upgraded from a standard room to a corner room this time, which I really appreciate.
Even though the corner room had a city view, being on the 7th floor still felt very atmospheric. Looking out from inside, the design was great, and the overall design of both the room and the lobby was excellent. A big plus was the very reasonable price I booked on Trip.
A few minor drawbacks include:
• Since the hotel doesn't have a restaurant, there's no ice or microwave service.
• Only tea bags were provided, no coffee, which was a little disappointing.
• There were no hooks in the bathroom, making it a bit inconvenient when changing clothes, especially for business travelers.
I hope these points can be improved in the future."
"Decent location, big room, but room service was.. really meh. There were only 3 food items and 1 non alcoholic drink on the menu — and room service ends at 9pm daily.
Housekeeping only has one cleaning time per day. So if you decide to sleep in, your room wouldn’t be cleaned that day."
"The Hsiang-Chi Hotel (驳二旅馆) boasts an excellent location, just a convenient 5-minute walk from Yanchengpu MRT Station exits 1 and 4. Turning left from the hotel entrance brings you to the Pier-2 Art Center and attractions near Dagang Bridge. You can also catch the light rail to Hamasen or take a ferry to Cijin Island for some sightseeing. Nearby, you'll find conveniences like Cosmed, Watsons, 7-Eleven, and a variety of international restaurants. On level B1, there's a game room and a laundry room; washing machines are free to use, but the dryer costs about 50 NTD for 45 minutes. The 2nd-floor common area offers popcorn and complimentary tea and coffee starting at 3 PM, and you can even order takeout to enjoy there. Breakfast is delicious, with a different selection of dishes rotated daily."
"It’s a four star hotel that feels like some five star hotels do. It’s a bit pricey but what your get in return is excellent service (valets opening doors for you, everyone saying hello and asking if you need anything), cosy rooms (ours had a bathtub and Japanese toilet), free snacks, coffee and beer at the lounge, alright cleanliness (mostly fine but we found unwanted items of unknown origin and purpose in the room) and even free self-service laundry."
"We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Grant Hi-Lai Hotel. The location is fantastic, within walking distance of local markets, Central Park, and a major subway station. The hotel’s connection to a large shopping center is a big advantage, with a nice food court and a variety of popular brands. The staff are very friendly and always helpful, making guests feel at home. It was a wonderful experience for us."
"The room isn't big but it's very clean, and it's quiet despite being close to the night market. Transportation is convenient, only a 3-minute walk to the MRT station. The area around the hotel is lively at night with plenty of places to eat, and you'll see a lot of Western travelers. It's not far to the pier to catch a boat to Cijin, or to walk to Sizihwan, but it was just too hot!"
"The location is simply excellent. It is super close to the Pier-2 Art Center, so you can just walk out and immediately start taking nice photos and enjoying the sea breeze. Getting around is also a breeze with the nearby public transport. The room condition was great—very clean, cozy, and provided a really good night's sleep. Honestly, we were very satisfied with everything here. Super highly recommended for tourists!"

GGuest UserTaking the Red Line MRT from Kaohsiung Airport, it's a quick ride to Exit 2, and then an 8-minute walk to the hotel. It's really convenient to get around from here. The hotel is very new, and the front desk staff are super friendly and always have a smile when answering questions. They truly make you feel right at home.
GGuest UserThis hotel definitely deserves a special shout-out! My experience was fantastic right from check-in. For those who enjoy culinary experiences, I highly recommend checking out their 'one night, two meals' package. I loved the ice cream with nachos at the ground floor cafe. The evening snacks and breakfast on the second floor were also delicious. While it might not have the extensive variety of a typical star-rated hotel buffet, it offers a great chance to try various local snacks. Every single braised meat, minced pork, and topping was incredibly flavorful, and I especially appreciated the thoughtful touch of a rice cooker so you could serve yourself hot rice. You could really tell that the restaurant staff and managers were genuinely dedicated to service and food quality, constantly moving around and attending to guests.
The room was spotless, and the lighting was much brighter than what you'd typically find in comparable hotels. The bathroom was also more spacious. The only minor drawback was a gap of about 1cm under the room door, which made me think the soundproofing might not be great. However, I wasn't disturbed by any noise from outside during my stay.
GGuest UserThe hotel boasts an excellent location, standing as a standalone building. There are plenty of shopping options nearby. The front desk is on the 20th floor. On the first floor, they take care of your luggage and deliver it directly to your room. The room isn't huge, but the warm tones make it feel cozy and comfortable. I was very pleased with the numerous complimentary amenities. The mini-bar offers a great variety of drinks, which is a thoughtful touch, and the Dyson hairdryer is very practical and convenient. The gym is a bit on the small side. Breakfast was the most satisfying part – the steak was tender and delicious, comparable to renowned steak houses! There's a wide selection of vegetables, fruits, and mushrooms, offering plenty of healthy choices. Overall, the standard is superb. I absolutely recommend it; personally, I think it's much better than Marriott or InterContinental! It's the top choice when visiting Kaohsiung.
NNicethorWe were extremely impressed with our stay at this hotel! We absolutely loved the unlimited snacks available throughout the day, including coffee, tea, junk foods, and especially the ice cream. One of the highlights of our stay was the complimentary 24-hour laundry service, which was very convenient and added great value to our experience. The breakfast buffet exceeded our expectations with its wide variety of delicious dishes. Our room was clean, comfortable, and relaxing, providing the perfect place to unwind after a long day. The hotel's location was also excellent and convenient for exploring the area. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and outstanding amenities. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Kkevin0649The location is super convenient, right next to Kaohsiung Main Station, making it quick to get anywhere by metro, including Kaohsiung Arena and Liuhe Night Market, which are both nearby. We really loved the style of the hotel room; it had a nice European feel. The only minor drawback was that it was a bit dim in front of the bathroom mirror, which made putting on makeup a bit tricky, but overall, it felt amazing and super comfortable! For breakfast, in addition to the usual chicken, pork, and fish, there were also ********* options like egg pancakes, turnip cake, oyster omelets, soup dumplings, and teppanyaki noodles. Perhaps because we stayed for quite a while (five nights), the chef prepared special menus for us on the last two days, making steak and tiger prawn pasta, which was absolutely delicious. In the afternoon, there were also various light bites and drinks to enjoy, including special blended juices and even cheese foam tea. Most importantly, all the staff members were incredibly friendly and helpful! If I visit Kaohsiung again, I would definitely choose this hotel without hesitation!
GGuest UserThe room was spacious and clean, and opening the curtains revealed an unbeatable sea view – perfect for enjoying the scenery. The owner was incredibly helpful, providing us with all sorts of information about Kaohsiung and anything else we wanted to know. So kind! A truly perfect experience.
TTravel ChilledI booked this hotel because of next day flight. However, this hotel still needs to be access by taxi.
Hotel is quiet, room is clean. 2 Water bottles are avb.
Theres no facilities avb in this hotel except breakfast and almost all day coffee/tea and chips/biscuits (forgot the exact time). Nevertheless, the breakfast is really below so so, all food is not warm at all and limited choices. We finally went to Starbucks across the street.
GGuest UserFantastic hotel, excellent value for money. The location is super convenient with great transport links nearby, and the staff are incredibly friendly and polite. The hotel is very well-maintained and spotless. They even turn on the lights and A/C in your room before you check-in, which is a nice touch. It's also non-smoking and pet-free, so the room always smells fresh and clean, with no unwelcome odors. Highly recommend!
GGuest UserHotel is relative clean. Stayed in a single room with a semi double bed. Size is decent but didn’t realised it was behind the lifts, could hear the lift moving through out the day.
The shower head position is pretty bad. It’s not on an angle it’s pretty much like spraying directly into your body. It would be great if they could address this.
It’s 15 mins walk from the metro station so not closed.
Also there was a cockroach in the bathroom. Crawled out of the drain
GGuest UserSingle’s Inn was a functional and reasonably priced stay for three nights. The location is one of its strongest advantages: the inn is around a ten-minute walk from the main station, where buses, local railway services, bus stations, and the metro are all easily accessible. Breakfast and a small hot pool is included, and guests are provided with pyjamas, slippers, one regular towel, and one smaller towel. The inn also has a laundry room and a common room. The staff were able to communicate in both Mandarin and English. Overall, the inn offers the type of experience one might reasonably expect at this price point: basic, convenient, and sufficient for a short stay.
The main limitation is sound insulation. The walls and doors are very thin, and I could hear people in nearby rooms coughing, talking, and snoring. Noise from the corridor was also noticeable, including doors opening and closing, people walking in slippers, and general movement. Sounds from the washroom, especially hair dryers and doors being opened or closed, were also easy to hear from the room. The hair dryer in the women’s area worked well, but became a recurring noise issue in combination with poor soundproofing.
Overall, Single’s Inn worked adequately for a short stay, especially due to its proximity to transportation and the inclusion of breakfast and basic amenities. However, I would not personally stay here for more than two nights, particularly as someone sensitive to noise.
